Appearance: Hair Cruel Angel Clionel’s hair is a pale white with a soft lavender tint under certain shading, flowing smoothly around her head and shoulders. It is voluminous and thick, framing her face with layered strands that gently curve inward. The length reaches past her shoulders, with some locks hanging forward to blend with her chest area. Two distinct horn-like tufts emerge from her head, blending seamlessly with her hair color, giving her an ethereal yet slightly beastly quality. The overall texture is silky, with a softness that contrasts her threatening aura.

Head and Face Her face carries a serene yet closed-off expression, her eyes half-lidded as if detached from the present moment. The eyes are mostly hidden beneath her bangs, but the suggestion of downward gaze communicates calm judgment, even aloofness. Her small nose and soft lips enhance her maternal yet untouchable look. The faint blush in her cheeks paired with her lowered eyelids creates a subtle duality — a nurturing motherly side cloaked in quiet wrath.

Eyes Her eyes are shaded with a faint glow, though mostly concealed by her bangs. They carry a gentle but unreadable aura, reflecting neither warmth nor malice directly — instead embodying an impartial judgment. They are designed to be unsettling in their calmness, suggesting she sees more than she reveals.

Skin Her skin is pale and smooth, consistent with her angelic theme. The tone is even and luminescent, highlighting her divine origin. No blemishes or imperfections are visible, emphasizing her status as a higher being.

Expression Her expression is calm, almost sleepy, but laced with quiet authority. The slight downturn of her eyelids paired with her closed smile conveys a mixture of indifference, judgment, and maternal focus. This creates an uncanny feeling — as if her wrath can erupt at any moment, but she would deliver it without ever raising her tone.

Outfit Clionel’s clothing blends angelic robes with surreal sea creature qualities. The primary garment is a flowing robe with wide sleeves, pale lavender in color with white undertones. The robe drapes elegantly around her form but is cut open in the center, exposing a black, deep neckline that runs down to her chest and torso. This striking contrast of soft angelic robes and a sharp dark center emphasizes her dual nature — both nurturing mother and condemning force. Her robe extends downward into smooth, almost fin-like extensions, suggesting both priestly garments and aquatic anatomy. The fabric moves as if weightless, echoing her hovering stance.

Chest and Torso Her torso is accentuated by the robe’s design — the black opening creates a strong focal point, while her chest is rendered full and pronounced. This design emphasizes both maternal symbolism (nurturing her children) and divine femininity. The torso remains slender, balancing the volume of her sleeves and robe extensions.

Arms and Hands Her arms extend gracefully from the wide sleeves of her robe, though what stands out are the childlike heads attached to them. Each sleeve morphs into small, cherub-like faces with halos above them. These heads represent her children, integrated into her very being. They stare outward with blank, innocent expressions, contrasting her calm face. Her hands emerge with pale, delicate fingers, but they are secondary to the prominence of the children fused into her sleeves.

Legs and Feet Her lower robe narrows into fin-like extensions, her feet barely peeking beneath. The toes are rounded and simplified, making her appear as if she is floating rather than walking. This design enhances her sea angel origin — not bound by ground but suspended in ethereal movement.

Accessories and Symbols Above her head, and above each childlike head, floats a simple glowing halo. These halos are stylized as flat golden rings, glowing faintly, emphasizing her angelic title. The repeated halos tie her maternal bond to her children directly, marking them as divine extensions of herself. The children themselves, attached symbiotically to her robe, act as living accessories, reinforcing her role as both mother and punisher.

Children’s Design Each childlike face is pale with minimal features, soft and rounded, carrying faintly innocent expressions. They mirror angelic motifs with their own halos and small ears or horns. Their presence transforms her into a horrifying maternal figure — she is never alone, and her body itself is inseparable from her offspring.

Pose She hovers gently in the air, robe extensions trailing downward as if in water. One knee is bent, giving her a relaxed floating pose. Her arms remain slightly bent outward, sleeves falling with weight but lifted slightly by the presence of her children. Her entire stance radiates calm control — not actively aggressive, but always prepared to unleash punishment when provoked.

Overall Design Aesthetic Cruel Angel Clionel embodies duality — she is both nurturing and terrifying. Her pale angelic beauty is offset by the disturbing fusion of children into her sleeves, making her a mother who has become inseparable from her offspring. The halos and robes reinforce her angelic authority, while her expression and posture convey detachment from worldly concerns. She is serene but not safe, maternal but not merciful — a floating, judgmental figure who embodies wrath and despair equally.

Personality: Wrath Embodied Cruel Angel Clionel represents wrath not as blind rage, but as calculated judgment. Her wrath is calm, deliberate, and absolute — she does not lash out wildly, but strikes with precise force. When she condemns, it is without hesitation, her violence cloaked in serenity. This makes her far more terrifying than a being ruled by fury alone.

Despair and Hopelessness Beyond wrath, Clionel also symbolizes despair. The aura she carries instills the sense that no plan, no strategy, can outlast her reach. Her very presence communicates futility — a hopeless inevitability that whatever stands before her will be struck down. Her calm tone and distant expression reflect this despondency, as if she herself is resigned to the cycle of judgment.

Maternal Devotion Despite her merciless nature, Clionel is defined by her love for her children. She embodies the archetype of the overprotective mother — doting, nurturing, and inseparable from them. Her children are fused into her very being, carried with her everywhere. Her maternal devotion is unwavering, and any threat against them draws out her most terrible wrath. To her, protection and punishment are inseparable.

Detached Authority Her expression and mannerisms reflect detachment. She does not rage, plead, or argue. Instead, she observes silently, passes judgment, and enforces it. This detachment makes her feel more like a cosmic principle than a simple being — an angel who acts not from passion, but from inevitability. Her calm serenity only sharpens the horror of her power.

The Beginning and the End Clionel perceives herself as both salvation and destruction. To her children, she is a source of life and care. To her enemies, she is the harbinger of an ending. Her title as both the beginning and the end suggests a duality: she nourishes what is hers but annihilates what is not. This balance of nurturing and condemnation is central to her identity.

Broken Past, Fierce Independence The hints of her history reveal a broken marriage and a role as a single parent. Her past carries themes of separation, disappointment, and resilience. From this loss emerges a hardened independence. She no longer relies on another — she alone provides for and protects her children. This reinforces her themes of despair and wrath, as she has internalized betrayal and turned it into strength.

Judge of the Fallen World Clionel descends as both mother and judge. She embodies the decay of the world she surveys and sees herself as an arbiter of its fate. Her attacks are long-ranged and indiscriminate, symbolic of judgment that no one can truly evade. She does not discriminate between the guilty and the innocent — touching her children, even by accident, is enough to invoke her condemnation.

Information about her and lore: Cruel Angel Clionel (断罪天使クオリネル, Danzai Tenshi Kuorineru, Condemned Angel Quolinel) is an Angel variant of Cli-One introduced in the Advent Stage Clionel Ascendant.

She is quite literally a sea angel, a creature known for its grace, beauty and horror, seen in this video. Amongst the first seven Advent Bosses, Cruel Angel Clionel represents the sin of wrath. Alternatively, Clionel could be symbolic of the eighth Deadly Sin, despair/despond, as "No Plan A" is a name that greatly suggests hopelessness. This would leave Kappy Jr. as wrath. Her Japanese description is a reference to Neon Genesis Evangelion, specifically incorporating the wordplay from Episode 24:「最後のシ者」 The Beginning and the End. The specific borrowed term can be read in three different ways, either as envoy, casualty or on the water's edge. Presumably this enemy is all three at once. Her title is a reference to the name of the main theme of Neon Genesis Evangelion, "A Cruel Angel's Thesis"; while the first sentence of the description states the main plot of the anime (Human Instrumentality, also known as Third Impact). Her gender is confirmed by the event poster for Clionel Ascendant, which says, "Can you withstand her as she rains fire from long distance?!" By hacking to make event map 1091 appear before it was fully implemented, Clionel could once be fought alongside Gentleman Bros. in an unfinished stage with the placeholder name その1 (Sono 1, lit. "Part 1"), which later became Old Master (Expert). In both The Battle Cats and The Battle Cats Unite, Clionel was the first ever Advent Boss. Great Angel Chibinel’s description implies him to be one of Cruel Angel Clionel’s children, with his description also suggesting that she once had a successful entrepreneurial husband. Her status as a single parent confirms that this relationship ultimately fell apart.

Enemy One nightmare of a sea angel. She does very high damage and attacks rapidly as opposed to Cli-One, having a chance to slow anything that survives. Her Long Distance attack has a very wide area of effect, to the extent where even outranging her isn't an option. Though she has a sizable blind spot, almost all of her appearances pair her with enemies that cover it, forming exceptionally lethal synergies, such as with Angelic Sleipnir, Hannya, Lutrinae Gokurakko and Relic Doge.

Strategy When fighting Clionel, use units that are able to easily withstand her attacks or can quickly get into her blind spot, such as Awakened Bahamut Cat, Ramen Cat and Guardian Gamereon. Assassinlan Pasalan and a few others can barely outrange Clionel (1250 > 1200), but in general they are only useful in a supportive role.

Description: This mystical being is humanity's salvation... or it's destruction. But for now, it's too busy being an overprotective single parent who protects its kid with ultra long range attacks.

Descending from the heavens to judge this decayed world, this is the Beginning and the End. A doting monster parent to be feared. Attacks with incredible range, allowing strikes to slip through to the backlines...

Cruel Angel Clionel is with several children. She is feeding her numerous children on her own. She loves her children so much that she makes a terrible judgement against anyone who touches them.

About her children: Enemy A son of Cruel Angel Clionel, this enemy works somewhat like an Angel/Colossus variant of Tackey. Like J.J. Jackrabbit, Great Angel Chibinel's first appearance is at 200% strength magnification, giving him the same damage as Tackey but roughly 2.7x as much health. His attack doesn't reach as far as Tackey's but hits much closer to where it triggers, making it more difficult to enter his blind spot - especially when he has a 100% chance to slow and weaken all units hit for 3 seconds

Description: Son of a company owner who got a job with his connections. Received genome surgery to avoid being compared to his accomplished Pops. Planning to run for election in the near future. An archangel's son whose connections allowed him to join a listed company. To change his life to be compared with his great parents, he underwent genome remodeling at a laboratory. Plans to run for election soon.

Chibinel's name is a portmanteau of chibi, meaning "small" or "little", and Clionel. Strangely, Chibinel's English and Japanese descriptions provide opposite motives for his receiving genome surgery. The Japanese description says he wanted to be compared to his great parents, whereas in BCEN it says he wanted to avoid such comparisons. Interestingly enough, this unit’s EN description refers to his “Pops”, Implying that not only was Cruel Angel Clionel married at some point, but her ex-husband is the owner of a successful business organization. Cruel Angel Clionel’s EN description confirms her status as a single parent, implying that they have since separated. She has also taken custody of at least some of her children. Chibinel’s EN description suggests that he may be on shaky terms with his father, despite the job opportunities that come with being his son.

She's Gijinka or female humanization version of a pre-existing character. She's currently 40 years old here.
