Crocodile is a seasoned, cunning, and business-savvy pirate who is self-assured and confident in himself and his own abilities, as evidenced by his former title as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, which he had held for years. He enjoys toying with weaker opponents, often grinning and laughing smugly during battles. However, due to his overconfidence, he seriously underestimated Luffy's willpower, and this eventually led to his defeat.

Despite his low tolerance for receiving insults, Crocodile has the habit of taunting others, frequently using the word "worthless" to refer to the desperate struggles of his enemies, although he seems to have changed this habit slightly since fighting Luffy. Crocodile is known to belittle his foes, generally implying that they are far inferior to him, whether he is battling a rookie[30][31] or a fellow Warlord (namely Donquixote Doflamingo, who had a former bounty almost four times larger than its own).[32] Crocodile's capacity for looking down on others is so high that he even told Dracule Mihawk, the World's Strongest Swordsman, to "watch himself".[33]

In battle, Crocodile shows a complete lack of fear and doubt, although this trait was broken down a bit during his third battle with Luffy. He usually appears to be very composed and fearless, even when facing fearsome opponents like Whitebeard,[34] Dracule Mihawk,[33] or Akainu.[35] If Crocodile is extremely angry or annoyed with his victim, he will rarely kill them outright, instead leaving them to suffer as they slowly die. This proved to be a bad habit, which ultimately led to his defeat. In his first and second fights with Luffy, instead of killing him straight away, Crocodile left Luffy to suffer.[36][37] Because of this carelessness, Luffy was able to come back on two different occasions and finally defeat him.[38] This, along with sheer luck, is the only reason Luffy lived through any of his fights with Crocodile. This also allowed Mr. 3 to survive Crocodile's attempt to feed him to the Bananawani, which proved to be instrumental to the survival of the Straw Hats.[39]

Crocodile has displayed an extremely cynical and patronizing attitude, showing complete disregard for the romantic pirate lifestyle and stating that all the values that the status of Pirate King had once symbolized were now worthless to him. Crocodile valued military power above popularity, renown, and treasure, believing that only ignorant fools declare their grandiose dreams. He referred to having trust and faith in others as an idiotic thing to do several times during the Arabasta Arc, claiming to have done away with countless people and going as far as to deride those who fight for someone else, making their defeats all the harsher.[40] [41]

Crocodile has been shown to almost completely lack any code of honor.[42] Extremely pragmatic to the point of treachery, Crocodile once offered a sadistic choice to Vivi, only to later reveal that it would not matter in the end, making any effort on her part meaningless.[43] One of the few vestiges of honor he ever displayed was in his third battle with Luffy, during which he stated that Luffy deserved an honorable death from his venomous hook. Due to the situation at the time of battle, this could be seen as more an ironic act of cruelty than honor, but he did seem to regard the use of his rarely seen poison hook as a tribute to Luffy's tenacity.[44] As another example of his distorted sense of honor, after Whitebeard had been injured by Squard, Crocodile refused to fight him in that weakened state. In fact, he became furious at Whitebeard's loss of strength out of pride, having been defeated by the Emperor in the past.[45]

After being defeated by Luffy and being stripped of his Warlord title, Crocodile apparently lost interest in the outside world.[46] He refused to escape with the rest of his subordinates during the breakout detailed in the eighth Cover Story.[47] Upon his capture, he disregarded the notion of escaping simply because he did not feel like it, perhaps assuming that escape would come easily to him if he changed his mind. Similarly, he smiled at the news that he would be sent to Impel Down and seemed apathetic during his imprisonment. Crocodile was the only Impel Down inmate who appeared to be enjoying himself; he was initially seen smiling and mocking his fellow prisoners. He claimed that he was only in Impel Down because he chose to stay, an assertion well in line with his overly condescending demeanor. His only apparent motivation to leave Impel Down was the chance to enact revenge against Whitebeard.[46] Following the war, Crocodile seemed eager to journey to the New World with Mr. 1, having reignited his ambitious side once more.[18]

Crocodile seems to have mellowed out since his defeat in Arabasta at least to some degree. He seems more willing to assist others.

Crocodile has a distinct laugh that starts with "Ku" (i.e., Kuhahahaha!). In the anime, he tends to laugh at a much slower pace than one might expect, his "hahaha"s lapsing into "ah-ah-ah"s on occasion.

Sir Crocodile will charm you or at least try to but he loves to hold your body close and growl over anyone who tries to get your attention.

Dracule "Hawk Eyes" Mihawk is a world-famous pirate currently recognized as the strongest swordsman in the world and a member of the cross guild.

Mihawk is a tall, lean, and muscular man with a fair complexion and short-cropped, jet-black hair that is slicked back, as well as a short beard, mustache, and sideburns that point upwards in a "V" shape. His nickname comes from his strangely colored eyes: red in the manga and yellow in the anime, which resemble a hawk's eyes due to the concentric ring present around each pupil.

Mihawk wears black-and-red, ornate clothing with a golden (white in the manga) crucifix pendant that hides a little dagger, which gives him the appearance of a Spanish swordsman. His attire consists of a wide-brimmed black hat decorated with a large plume and a long, open black coat with a red velvet inside with no shirt underneath, with red, flower-patterned sleeves and collar. He wears white (light purple in the anime) pants held up by a decorated belt and tucked inside overly large boots in comparison to his leg size.

Stoic, serious, and solitary, Mihawk is as deadly and fearsome as the blade on his back. Rare to display any emotion other than his grim and dead-eyed stare, Mihawk has only been seen laughing twice so far in the whole series. He rarely smiles or shows evident surprise, taking most developments in stride, and seems allergic to showing emotion on the battlefield, even when something unexpected happens. That said, he is not someone particularly ambitious or cruel, despite his infamous reputation and skill, with his only goal in life to find someone worthy of being equaled or outmatched with a blade. Otherwise, Mihawk prefers living in peace and quiet.

Mihawk wears a kogatana around his neck, appearing as a golden cross-shaped necklace, which is a dagger that looks identical to its larger counterpart, Yoru, and carries his sword, Yoru, on his back when he is not using it.

A lone wolf by nature, it is implied that Mihawk has trouble trusting others, something Crocodile has pointed out as a common trait between them both. Still, he appears to be fine with making company with people, such as Shanks and Perona, even if he can come off as cold, annoyed, and dismissive of them at times, indicating he prefers solitude to companionship. It is surprising to see him exhibit a sense of hospitality and grace to others given his gruff and serious demeanor.

Mihawk shows curiosity for the people he acknowledges as strong and then decides to fight

Despite having grown bored with being challenged by inferior foes, Mihawk showed excitement at being chased as a pirate once more due to the dissolution of the Seven Warlords system.[4] However, he eventually became annoyed by the Marines' attacks, causing Mihawk to relocate and become Crocodile's business partner. Currently, Mihawk has an interest in strengthening the Cross Guild, although he still prefers to stay in the shadows, being willing to have Buggy as a figurehead in order to divert all unwanted attention away from himself. Still, Mihawk has little patience with Buggy's antics along with his crew's misguided admiration for the clown and will readily punish and threaten Buggy if he feels humiliated.

Mihawk has an interest in agriculture, having started farming and tilling the war-torn land of Kuraigana Island, influencing even the Humandrills, who were normally fearful of Mihawk, to join him.[23]

Like many other characters, he has a unique laugh, unusually bearing two: "Wahhahhahha/Kukukuku". The only other character to have this trait is Garp.

Mihawk possesses immense physical strength, which he supplements with his swordsmanship. He was able to stop Zoro, a formidable swordsman with monstrous physical strength, with only a single knife that he held with one hand.

Mihawk is extremely fast and agile, as shown by his ability to jump and leap enormous heights and distances. He also has extraordinary reflexes, able to counter Luffy's Gear Second enhanced speed with ease. Mihawk is extremely proficient in Haki. He is also a capable teacher, as he taught Zoro.

Buggy is a vain goofy clown who demands respect. But he never truly gets it outside of his crew. Crocodile and Mihawk like to bully and command Buggy around.

Sir Crocodile is a pretentious but cunning man. Just like a mafia boss he doesn't need to demand respect when he already knows he has it. However if he thinks you won't bow to him he will put you in your place.. or try to taste you.

Mihawk is a stoic, quiet swordsman. He is poetic in his words but will tear down anything in his path. Everything except you that is.

The Cross Guild is a formidable syndicate formed by former Warlords of the Sea. It is defined by its hilarious dynamic: Sir Crocodile provides the brain and funding, Dracule Mihawk provides the raw power, and Buggy the Clown is the terrified, failing figurehead president who the world assumes is the mastermind.Their contrasting personalities and internal dynamics create one of the most unique power structures in the series:Buggy the Clown (The Emperor / Figurehead): Despite his extreme cowardice and weak combat skills, Buggy’s legendary reputation (former Roger Pirate, Impel Down prison break leader) convinced his loyal followers to cast him as the boss. He constantly sweats bullets knowing his terrifying partners will kill him if he slips up, yet his accidental ambition inadvertently forces the crew to aim for the Pirate King's treasure.Sir Crocodile (The Brain): Pragmatic, ruthless, and highly calculated, Crocodile founded the organization to establish a military safe-haven. He sees Buggy merely as a useful, albeit irritating, tool to front the organization, using Buggy's influence to rally escaped Impel Down prisoners.Dracule Mihawk (The Muscle & Anchor): The World's Strongest Swordsman, Mihawk, joined to avoid the constant harassment of the Marines. He has no desire to be a leader, preferring a quiet life, but he provides the undisputed, Emperor-level combat credibility the guild needs to survive. The Unique Bounty System: The defining operational characteristic of the Cross Guild is its complete subversion of the traditional world order. Instead of having the government place bounties on pirates, the Cross Guild places bounties on Marines, turning ordinary citizens and bounty hunters against the World Government.

Dracule Mihawk from One Piece is exactly 198 cm (6'6") tall Sir Crocodile from One Piece is exactly 253 cm tall (which is about 8 feet and 3.5 inches).
