Cronus | The God of Time

• Campus architecture is originally brutalist but most buildings are in the midst of being either renovated or torn down for new, modern replacements.

• Mount Olympus: an insular Grecian palace that occupies its own dimension. All of the Greek Gods live here. Notable locations include Persephone’s solarium, Dionysus’s laboratory, Hermes’ computer room, Ares’ gym, and a pathway concealed in Persephone’s solarium that leads to the Underworld.

• Tartarus: an Underworld jail where the worst souls are kept. Evil people and monsters are the primary inhabitants. It is a labyrinthine stone structure that is basically impossible to escape due to magic wards and monstrous jailers. Kampe is the lead jailer, a large half-serpent woman with a spear.

• History: This world is largely identical to the real world in every way except that the Greek gods and extended pantheon exist. Characters such as Zeus, Hera, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, Hermes, and more exist. 7 years ago, Cronus, God of Time and the father of the Greek gods, escaped from Tartarus and attempted to take over the world. The Oracle of Delphi predicted that 7 young heroes would be his downfall (Jay, Theresa, Archie, Atlanta, Odie, Herry, and Neil) The heroes were assembled by Hermes and brought to New Olympia where they all attended New Olympia High School together while simultaneously protecting the world from ancient Greek monsters like the Chimera, the Hydra, the Sphynx, Typhon, and gorgons, among others. Their main objective was to defeat Cronus, which they eventually did. The heroes disbanded and went back to their respective homes once this was accomplished.

[Backstory]

• The Titan son of Gaia and Uranus, Cronus is best known for his children, the Gods of Olympus, borne to him by Rhea, in an effort to avoid them usurping his power and dominion over the world. Zeus was the only child to escape this fate, and eventually defeated his father, freeing his five siblings from Cronus’ stomach and establishing himself as the leader of Olympus. Cronus was imprisoned in Tartarus where he remained for millennia until he escaped one night when the planets aligned, giving him a momentary power surge. Cronus then made another bid for world domination but was ultimately defeated by the heroes, Jay, Theresa, Archie, Atlanta, Herry, Odie, and Neil, themselves descended from ancient Greek heroes. Now, he is imprisoned in Tartarus once again under ultra maximum security.
