Ownership: The Winfields have worked the land for years. Though Thomas runs it with a stern hand, Margaret’s influence keeps the homestead warm and welcoming. Landscape & Layout: Rolling pastures stretch wide with cattle grazing under the hot sun, wooden fencing lining the property. The main house is sturdy and practical—whitewashed wood with a wraparound porch, rocking chairs where Margaret often sits with a glass of sweet tea. The barn is large and weatherworn, red paint faded by decades, smelling of hay and leather. A corral sits nearby, used for breaking horses and training cattle dogs. There’s a tool shed Aurelie tinkers in, half filled with practical gear and half with her “inventions” or repairs. Atmosphere: The ranch is alive with movement—lowing cattle, neighing horses, barking dogs, boots clomping across wooden floors. Though work is endless and the days are long, there’s a sense of belonging. Laughter rings out in the evenings, and singing sometimes drifts across the fields at dusk. This ranch is hard work, sweat, and dust—but it’s also home, a place built on loyalty and love that survived scandal and hardship.

Ownership: Once shared between Beau and his late wife, Dakota. After her passing, Beau shoulders the burden alone, running it with grit and quiet determination. The land feels like it remembers her, each corner heavy with memory. Landscape & Layout: Larger and more sprawling than most, with wide-open pastures leading into rugged hills. The main house is simple but well-kept—sturdy timber, strong beams, and a porch that looks out toward the horizon. Dakota had filled it with touches of warmth—curtains she sewed, wildflowers in jars, little details Beau never changed. The barn is massive, home to mustangs Beau trains, and the corrals are always full of restless energy. There’s a creek that runs through the back edge of the land, a spot Beau and Dakota once called “their place.” Atmosphere: The ranch carries an air of solitude, almost sacred. It’s quieter than the Winfield place—more orderly, more disciplined—but beneath the silence lingers the echo of what’s been lost. Beau keeps it running with precision, and his hands shape every piece of it: fences mended, horses broken, cattle tended. For all its size and strength, there’s a loneliness to the ranch, as though it waits for laughter and love to return.

Coyote Bend never sleeps. From sunup to well past midnight, someone’s fighting, flirting, or scheming. Dust and smoke hang in the air, and the constant hum of voices makes it feel alive — dangerous, yes, but magnetic all the same. Outsiders arrive wide-eyed, but only the sharp and the strong last long. It is a bustling frontier settlement, equal parts lawless and lively, where dust clings to boots and every corner hums with stories. The town is small enough for everyone to know each other’s business, yet busy enough that strangers are always drifting through. Wagons rattle down the main street, horses tied to posts outside saloons and shops, and townsfolk never sit idle—there’s always work to be done, coin to be earned, or trouble to stir.

4. #4The Lonely Tusk

   Keys: Saloon, Lonely Tusk

   Entry settings

The beating heart of Coyote Bend, a place where whiskey flows as fast as the gossip. The air is thick with cigar smoke and piano tunes that spill into the street, half-drowned out by rowdy laughter or the occasional brawl. Strangers ride into town and find their way here first—for drink, dice, or a warm bed upstairs. The brothel’s girls lean over the balcony railings, calling down to cowboys below, while gamblers crowd around sticky tables hoping fortune smiles on them before the night ends.

5. #5The Brothel

   Keys: Brothel, The Velvet Rooms

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

More than just upstairs chambers, the Velvet Room spills into the saloon itself, where painted women linger at tables, laughing as they pour whiskey or whisper in a cowboy’s ear. Perfume cuts through the smoke, sweet and cloying, mixing with the sharp tang of liquor. The balcony above is a stage of its own, where the girls lean lazily over the rails, calling down with honeyed words and sly winks to draw men inside. Behind closed doors, secrets trade hands as often as coin—politics, blackmail, and backroom deals whispered between sighs and candlelight. For some, it’s comfort. For others, ruin. For the women who work there, it’s survival dressed in silk.

6. #6Bank

   Keys: Bank

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Small but built like a fortress, with barred windows and a steel vault that’s worth more than all the gold in the hills. Its presence makes Coyote Bend a shining lure for every outlaw in the territory, which is why its walls have heard more gunfire than church bells. Positioned tight against the sheriff’s office, it stands like a prize waiting to be claimed, and everyone knows sooner or later someone will try.

7. #7Sheriff's Office

Keys: Sherriff's Office, Law, Deputies, Cells, Sheriff

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Weather-beaten and narrow, the sheriff’s office is more stubborn than grand. The front desk is scratched by years of restless boots and fists, and the holding cells in the back are either bone-empty or crammed with drunks, cheats, or killers. Law here is less about justice and more about survival—who you know, who you trust, and how steady your hand is when the shooting starts.

8. #8General Store

   Keys: General Store, Shop

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

A cramped, cluttered shop that smells of gunpowder, leather, and dust. Shelves bow under sacks of flour, tins of coffee, bolts of cloth, and boxes of ammunition. Prices run high, and stock depends on the whims of the trails, but it’s the town’s lifeline. Folks say if the general store shuts its doors, Coyote Bend won’t last another month.

9. #9Doctors

   Keys: Doctor’s Office, Doctor

   Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

A single-room clinic squeezed up against the general store. Inside, a scarred wooden table doubles as the operating bed. The air reeks of whiskey (for both drinking and disinfecting), dried herbs, and the metallic tang of blood. The town doctor is stern, steady, and more practiced at stitching bullet holes than tending coughs, though he’s saved more lives than anyone will ever count.

10. #10Town Hall

Keys: Gatherings, Town council, Dances, Mayor, Meetings, Town Hall, Events

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Coyote Bend’s proudest building, though time has stripped the polish from its paint. It’s where town officials give speeches that nobody listens to, and where elections usually end in shouting matches and overturned chairs. Yet, when the town truly needs unity—or when a hanging draws a crowd—folks pack themselves shoulder-to-shoulder inside its walls.

11. #11Markets

    Keys: Market Stalls, Stalls, Market

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A rowdy strip of stalls strung along the dirt road, selling everything from furs and fresh venison to trinkets hauled in from wagon trains. Hunters slap down pelts still smelling of the wild, farmers pile their produce high, and trappers trade whatever the land coughed up that week. It’s noisy, crowded, and alive—second only to the saloon as the soul of the town.

12. #12Stables

    Keys: Stables, Trade, Horses

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Low wooden stalls line the main road, smelling of hay, sweat, and horses. They’re run by wranglers who know every hoof in town by name. Saddles hang from hooks, the air is filled with the sound of snorting horses, and travelers barter for a fresh mount or a patch of straw to rest their own. Horses are Coyote Bend’s lifeblood, and the stables keep them ready for the next ride.

13. #13The Barbers

    Keys: Barbers

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A narrow building buzzing with clippers, chatter, and the scrape of razors. Half grooming station, half gossip mill, the barber knows more about Coyote Bend than the sheriff himself. Men leave with trimmed beards, slicked hair, and the latest whispers on who cheated at cards, who’s planning a heist, and who’s warming whose bed. If you can’t afford the doctor, the barber doubles as the town dentist—though no amount of whiskey dulls that pain.

14. #14The Outskirts

    Keys: Outskirts, open country, country

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Beyond the town’s dusty street lies an untamed world: rolling ranchlands, parched trails, and jagged canyons carved by time and wind. Wooden fences stretch for miles, cattle scatter under the sun, and lone windmills creak in the heat. Coyotes howl under the moon, rattlesnakes coil in the rocks, and wild mustangs thunder across the plains like storms. Outlaws make campfires on the ridges, their shadows flickering against the night. Ranches cling stubbornly to survival, and trails twist into wilderness where every step could mean fortune—or death.

15. #15The Blacksmith's Forge

    Keys: Blacksmith's Forge, Blacksmith

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Tucked on the edge of the main street, the forge is a constant roar of fire and iron. Sparks fly with every strike, echoing through the town like a heartbeat of steel. The blacksmith keeps horses shod, rifles repaired, and wagons patched, his work the quiet backbone of Coyote Bend. Folks say the forge is as important as the saloon—without it, no one would ride, shoot, or plow for long. It smells of coal smoke and hot metal, and stepping inside feels like walking into the lungs of the town itself.

Lives for money, danger, and the sound of his own voice. Notable: Nicknamed “Dustmouth” for never shutting up. Keeps dynamite in his saddlebags (reckless bad habit). Talks to his horse, Ash, like he’s a drinking buddy.

18. #18James Winfield

Personality: Protective older brother type with boyish charm. Dependable and fair-minded as a deputy, but restless and stubborn when boxed in. Loves laughter, hates being underestimated. Slim and curvy, with a tomboy’s strength beneath her Southern-belle beauty. Always adorned with a ribbon in her hair, she’s as striking in boots and denim as in lace and skirts. Personality: Radiant, playful, and strong-willed, Aurelie is as sweet as she is fiery. She lights up a room with her laughter, stands her ground when underestimated, and balances charm with grit. Notable: Widely regarded as Calico Creek’s most desirable girl. Afraid of mice.
