It is bordered by the Fuscum Sea to the south, the Arctic Ocean to the northeast, the Ceres Ocean to the southeast, and the Eusian Ocean to the west. Anea is separated into three nations, including one of the world's leading economic and military powers, the Republic of Emmeria.

   One of the largest continents on the planet and is home to a large number of people. Numerous conflicts have been fought here, outnumbering the known conflicts on any other continent. The continent is separated into at least a dozen countries. The countries on the Osean continent are as follows: Osea, Belka, FATO, Nordlands, Wielvakia, Ratio, Sapin, Ustio, Recta, and Gebet.

   Osea, officially known as the Osean Federation, is a massive Strangereal country and international superpower located on the Osean continent. Osea encompasses a majority of the continent's western landmass and shares land borders with Belka, Ustio, and Sapin to the east and Perbla to the south. Its capital, Oured, is located on the tip of Osea's southeastern peninsula near Oured Bay. Osea is a highly developed country that possesses a large population of 500 million citizens, an extensive infrastructure, a thriving capitalist economy, and a well-outfitted military force, the Osean Defense Forces. Osea is also considered one of the world's foremost leaders in aeronautics and space-exploration development. The country's achievements include the construction of the Strategic Orbital Linear Gun, the Arkbird (a joint program with Yuktobania), and the International Space Elevator.

   By virtue of its world power, Osea held expansionist ideologies and annexed new territories throughout the 20th century. The country's aggressive nature directly resulted in major conflicts such as the Osean War, the Belkan War, and the Usean coup d'état. A rivalry also existed between Osea and Yuktobania, which led to the Cold War in the 1980s and 1990s.

   In the 21st century, especially following the election of President Vincent Harling, Osea's expansionism was curtailed and the country diminished its military power to follow a more peaceful foreign policy. Despite the Circum-Pacific War against Yuktobania, which was orchestrated by Belkan extremists as revenge for the Belkan War, this policy of peace continued into the 2010s. However, due to previous tensions and miscommunication regarding the development of the International Space Elevator, the Kingdom of Erusea declared war on Osea in 2019, leading to the Lighthouse War.

   History: Formation:

   Osea was formed sometime in or prior to the 19th century. The country's first capital was located in Bana City, but this was changed at some point to Oured. According to early navigational charts, Bana City and Oured existed for quite some time.

   Osean War (1905–1910): Osea began to expand its territory by the 1900s. In 1905, this expansionism caused the outbreak of the Osean War with Belka. Over the next five years, Belka became the first country to use aircraft for warfare and create an air force; Osea followed suit by forming the Osean Air Defense Force.

   Cold War (1980s–1995):

   Over the course of the mid-20th century, Osea flourished and continued to expand its political influence around the globe. By the 1980s, Osea was in the midst of a cold war with the Union of Yuktobanian Republics, its rival superpower across the Ceres Ocean. The ongoing arms race compelled Osea to develop atmospheric weapon systems under the Strategic Defense Initiative to counter Yuktobania's developments in missile technology. This led to the construction of the Strategic Orbital Linear Gun (SOLG), a massive Kinetic Energy Weapon that would drop shells from orbit to destroy missile silos. The concept of a "maneuverable orbiting spacecraft" was also created under the Strategic Defense Initiative.

   As part of the Cold War, Osea continued to heavily expand its military, particularly its air force, by acquiring new recruits. The Rearmament Declaration in October 1990 shifted around some of its personnel between the branches and created new units. The most notable example was the creation of the Wizard Squadron and its secondary unit, Sorcerer Squadron. Austin Winters, a member of the Osean Army, was transferred to the Sorcerer Squadron alongside Anthony Palmer and Todd Barry. Osea also commissioned the creation of a new aircraft carrier, the OFS Kestrel, in 1991. The ship was completed sometime over the next four years.

   Around this era, Osea was also surveying the world for potential troves of natural resources. Looking eastward, Osea had reason to believe that underground resources were present in Belka's southeastern region, which would come to be named Ustio. Belka was undergoing economic turmoil at the time, so Osea took advantage of the situation. The country helped push for Ustio's independence, which was successful in May 1988. Osea also purchased pieces of land from Belka, most notably the Five Great Lakes and intersecting islands between the two countries. This brought several Belkan cities such as Wesson and Rutherford under Osean control.

   Osea offered a joint expedition with Belka to explore potential natural resources around the Five Great Lakes, where Belka would get to share the profits. Belka agreed, but the company quickly collapsed; Osea had exaggerated on the amount of resources in the region, and Belka's economy was further destabilized. Anti-Osean sentiment grew heavily within Belka as a result.

   Belkan War (1995):

   Counterattack: In March 1995, Belka declared war on all of its neighbors and invaded much of the territory Osea had acquired in the Great Lakes sale. In response, Osea created and led the Allied Forces, a temporary alliance between Osea and two other countries Belka had invaded: Ustio and Sapin. Surprisingly, Yuktobania joined the Allied Forces as well, which began the reconciliation process between Osea and Yuktobania. The Allied Forces signed a nonaggression treaty, agreeing to only act in self-defense and not to invade Belkan territory.

   On April 24, Osea launched Offensive Campaign No. 4101 with its 3rd Osean Naval Fleet (including the OFS Kestrel, which was undergoing sea trials) to capture the Futuro Canal and open a sea route into Belka.[26] From there, Osea's 101st and 122nd Airborne Divisions, supported by Ustio's mercenary Galm Team, performed a paratroop operation to secure Solis Ortus[27] and liberate Directus, the capital of Ustio.[28] In the meantime, Osea accelerated development of the SOLG,[29] presumably to use it against Belka and end the war quickly.

   Invasion of Belka: In late May, Osea received intel that Belka was developing a new weapon of mass destruction known as V2. Using V2 as casus belli for self-defense, Osea spearheaded an invasion into Belkan territory. Belka used the Excalibur laser tower in retaliation against the invading troops, prompting the Allied Forces to send Galm Team and Crow Team to destroy Excalibur.

   On May 28, the Allied Forces permanently abrogated the nonaggression treaty at the Assembly of Nations and simultaneously launched an assault to capture Area B7R, a strategic and symbolic area for Belka. With the help of Galm and Crow Teams, despite Belkan reinforcements, the Allied Forces captured B7R. Osea then performed a bombing raid on Hoffnung to cripple Belka's industrial power and began marching through the Waldreich Mountains towards Sudentor.

   Cessation of hostilities: During a skirmish at Sudentor on June 6, Belka detonated seven nuclear warheads in the Waldreich Mountains, killing over 12,000 Belkan civilians. Osea, the other Allied Forces members, and Belka agreed to an immediate cease-fire. Despite remnant resistance over the next month, the Allied Forces and Belka signed a treaty in Lumen to officially end the Belkan War on June 20. The treaty was one-sided and heavily favored Osea; the country annexed the entire state of South Belka and renamed it "North Osea". Historically Belkan cities, such as Lumen and Sudentor, were now assimilated by Osea and the South Belka Munitions Factory was renamed to "North Osea Gründer Industries". Over the next ten years, Osea would begin tracking down every member of the Belkan Air Force, adding them to a database, and attempting to capture war criminals and dangerous people.

   A terrorist organization, A World With No Boundaries, began operations against Osea and the other Allied Forces members in December 1995, prompting an immediate counterattack. Osean pilots joined the Galm Team in striking against the organization at Avalon Dam, and Cipher, Galm Team's flight lead, helped to destroy the V2 missile that they tried to launch. Osea's investigation into the Belkan Air Force expanded into investigating A World With No Boundaries members.

   Era of peace (1996–2010): In 1996, Osea signed a bilateral agreement with Yuktobania that officially ended the Cold War. The treaty signing compelled the survivors of the OADF's Wizard Squadron to plot the Osean president's assassination, but they were either killed or arrested by Osean Special Ops.

   Ulysses Impact Event and Usean treaty Main article: Ulysses 1994XF04 or Spring Sea Treaty On April 20, 1996, the Federation of Central Usea announced the existence of the Ulysses 1994XF04 which was to strike the Usean continent (and, later discovered, the Anean continent). Refugees began immigrating out of Usea; Osea's capital, Oured, accepted the largest number of refugees compared to other cities.[46] Osea expressed desire to assist Usea in building Stonehenge but could not due to post-Belkan War reconstruction.[9][3]

   The next year, a group of southern Usean countries decided to join the Osean Federation. Despite backlash from their neighbors, Osea extended an offer of military allegiance known as the Spring Sea Treaty. On May 30, 1997, the day the treaty was to be signed, an extremist terrorist organization took control of the entire continent, resulting in the Usean coup d'état.

   The next year, Osea acquired some Belkan Air Force pilots to work as aggressor units for the country. This included the Grabacr Squadron, referred to as the "8492nd Squadron" in Osea.

   Following the Ulysses Impact Event in July 1999, the remaining meteors stuck in Earth's atmosphere became a threat to satellites along with the potential that they could strike outside of Usea and Anea. Osea decided, with Yuktobania's assistance, to create the Arkbird out of the "maneuverable orbiting spacecraft" concept from the Strategic Defense Initiative in the 1980s. The Arkbird was outfitted with a laser on top to destroy Ulysses fragments, which could not physically attack anything below the spacecraft. By 2008, the Arkbird had already vaporized over 80% of the remaining Ulysses fragments. In cooperation with other countries, Osea and Yuktobania also proposed an International Space Station.

   International affairs: On March 20, 2002, Osea joined Emmeria and other nations imposing sanctions on Estovakia, citing internal corruption. Additionally, export controls on strategic resources by Osea and Emmeria made it difficult for Estovakia to engage in technology transfer with other nations and arms trading with Belka. This slowed Estovakia's post-Ulysses economic recovery throughout the following years.

   In 2004, Vincent Harling was elected as the 48th President of the Osean Federation. Throughout his first term, Harling's peace policies strengthened Osea's ties to Yuktobania and led to the creation of Basset Space Center. In 2008, Harling was reelected to a second term. That year, Osea hosted the G7 Summit aboard the Arkbird. Osea personally invited the provisional government of Erusea to help promote peace on the Usean continent. The meeting saw a historic push to ratify several anti-proliferation treaties, including a Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty and a Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. The move was seen as a further strengthening of bonds between Osea and Yuktobania, as well as the nations of the world.

   Circum-Pacific War (2010): Initial attacks:

   In late September 2010, Osea experienced a series of airspace intrusions by Yuktobanian Air Force aircraft shortly before its former ally declared war on September 27. Over the coming days, Osea fended off several Yuktobanian air strikes. The Yuktobanian submarine Scinfaxi sank the OFS Vulture and Buzzard aircraft carriers, prompting Osea to install an air-to-ground laser module on the Arkbird. The combined power of the Arkbird and Wardog Squadron sank the Scinfaxi off the shore of Sand Island Air Force Base.

   On October 22, President Harling attempted to meet with Yuktobanian Prime Minister Seryozha Viktrovich Nikanor in the neutral country of North Point to initiate peace talks. However, Harling's transport plane, Mother Goose One, was forced to make an emergency landing with the help of Wardog Squadron after the plane was shot at by friendly SAM defenses and an onboard spy shot the pilots. The 8492nd Squadron relieved Wardog Squadron but captured Harling and presumably killed the others on board. At the same time, a bomb carried aboard a shipment to the Arkbird disabled its power generator, preventing it from being used any further.

   Invading Yuktobania: Following these events, the hawkish Vice President Appelrouth usurped control of the Osean government and sanctioned a full-scale ground invasion of Yuktobania in November. In the midst of the assault, a Yuktobanian engineering college was fired upon by aircraft identified as Osean. In retaliation, Yuktobanian commandos performed two simultaneous terrorist attacks within Osean territory. Osea then sanctioned deep-strike operations against Yuktobanian military bases, and the Wardog Squadron sank the Hrimfaxi in the Razgriz Straits, earning them the "Demons of Razgriz" nickname.

   Later that month, the Vice President hosted a ceremony in November City with Wardog doing a flyby. The ceremony was attacked by Yuktobanian aircraft, and the 8492nd Squadron temporarily called off Osea's reinforcements, forcing Wardog Squadron to defend the stadium on their own. Wardog's Alvin H. Davenport was shot down and killed in the battle before reinforcements finally arrived.

   Osea's invasion into Yuktobania continued, with the fall of Cruik Fortress on December 6.[68] That night, Wardog Squadron was branded as traitors and shot down over the Solo Islands the next morning. Over the next couple of weeks, Osean forces attempted to capture Cinigrad, Yuktobania's capital, but repeatedly failed due to the lack of air support. The land invasion slowly bogged down.

   Return of Razgriz: The members of Wardog had secretly bailed out and escaped to the OFS Kestrel, which began clandestine operations against a group of nationalistic Belkans known as the Grey Men, of which the 8492nd Squadron was a part. The Wardog members rescued President Harling, who officially assigned the fugitive airmen to the new, secret Razgriz Squadron. Harling returned to the capital in late December.[69] Razgriz Squadron also rescued Yuktobania's Prime Minister Nikanor, who was being held in a Yuktobanian prison following a coup d'état.

   At the same time, Razgriz Squadron worked to eliminate the threat of nuclear weapons the Grey Men were attempting to use against Osea and Yuktobania. The Razgriz pilots sealed the Yering Mine, which held most of them, assisted a Yuktobanian resistance group in dismantling one warhead, and shot down the Arkbird before it could use another nuke. The Kestrel Fleet also engaged a Yuktobanian fleet and an Osean fleet that were firing on the Kestrel and her allies, which included some defecting Yuktobanians. The Osean fleet was led by the OFS Barbet, which Razgriz sunk along with all other vessels carrying out acts of aggression against them.

   President Harling and Prime Minister Nikanor held a press conference on December 30, while Razgriz Squadron and its allies performed an assault on Gründer Industries in Sudentor, which had taken control of the abandoned SOLG and loaded a V2 onto it. Razgriz entered the Gründer tunnel that held the SOLG's control system and destroyed it. A fail-safe on the SOLG triggered it to fall towards Oured; Razgriz took off, shot down the defending Grabacr and Ofnir Squadrons, and destroyed the SOLG harmlessly over Oured Bay.

   Postwar (2010–2019): Following the end of the Circum-Pacific War, Harling worked to make Osea the leader of the international order, surpassing Yuktobania in global influence. While restoring relations with its former adversary, Osea began reassigning more Defense Force units to the IUN Peacekeeping Force, predominantly in Usean areas most affected by the Ulysses Impact Event.

   In April 2011, President Harling and Prime Minister Nikanor signed the 3rd Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. Under its terms, both Osea and Yuktobania were to dispose a number of nuclear and strategic weapons, which included latter's advanced submarine Alicorn. While debating how to dispose of the submarine, the Usea-based GR Trading, a subsidiary of General Resource Limited, proposed to purchase the vessel as scrap and appealed to the FCU government for permission. In September, the governments of Osea, Yuktobania and Central Usea reached the consensus that Usean parties are allowed to receive discarded military vessels.

   That same year, the Harling administration founded the International Space Elevator Corporation and decided to construct the International Space Elevator at the city-state of Selatapura, prompting protests from the now Kingdom of Erusea. In 2012, Osea presented a construction roadmap for the space elevator.

   In 2013, Harling announced that all classified documents relating to the Circum-Pacific War would be released in 2020.

   In May 2014, due to the Circum Pacific War weakening both the Osean and Yuktobanian militaries, Free Erusea conducted an armed uprising in Usea that the IUN managed to put down by July.

   At some point, multiple nations contributed to the development of the International Space Elevator in Gunther Bay. Osea developed two Arsenal Birds, equipped with MQ-101 UAVs, and sent them to defend the Space Elevator. Osea also began rebuilding its naval force, commissioning the new Vulture and the cutting-edge OFS Kestrel II, before beginning development on a next-generation class of aircraft carriers.

   Lighthouse War (2019): Initial attacks and retaliation: On May 15, 2019, the Kingdom of Erusea declared war on the Osean Federation, using drones to attack multiple ports across the Osean mainland and sinking numerous Osean aircraft carriers. Shortly afterward, Erusea also took control of the International Space Elevator and both Arsenal Birds. In retaliation, the aircraft carrier Kestrel II launched a failed assault on Farbanti, during which, Osean aircraft caused civilian casualties, resulting in international distaste towards Osea. Erusea soon after gained control over the majority of the Usean continent. Attempting to counterattack, Osea launched a failed two-front offensive involving a second Farbanti assault and Operation Dual Wielder.

   With their strategies proving fruitless, Osea opted to rescue its former president, Vincent Harling, who was touring the space elevator when it was captured. During the rescue operation, Mother Goose One was shot down by an aircraft identifying as Osean. Afterward, the IUN court-martialled Trigger for allegedly killing Harling and sentenced him to serve in the penal unit Spare Squadron. Over the next few months, Spare participated in many near-suicide missions, crippling Erusean bases, drone fuel supplies, and communications facilities. Following their successes, Spare was recognized as a legitimate Osean Air Defense Force squadron.

   Invading Erusea: In August, the Long Range Strategic Strike Group sunk the Njord Fleet and Erusean Navy platform at Snider's Top and subsequently helped the Osean forces utilize Stonehenge to shoot down Arsenal Bird Liberty, drastically decreasing the Arsenal Birds' air defense radius. In September, Osean forces captured Cape Rainy and used it to launch Operation Giant's Step, in which Osea captured Farbanti and destroyed communications satellites which Erusea had hacked earlier in the war. Concurrently, Erusea eliminated Osean satellites in orbit as well, throwing the entire Usean continent into chaos.

   With communications down, Osean forces were forced to continue despite being isolated. On October 1, the LRSSG attempted to escort Erusean Army General Édouard Labarthe, who was willing to cooperate with Osea. However, Labarthe's transport was shot down by Osean aircraft given falsified information by AWACS Argus. Nine days later, the LRSSG rescued Osean forces stranded on Tyler Island.

   Ending the war: On October 31, a coalition of Osean and Erusean conservatist forces launched a combined operation which resulted in the destruction of Arsenal Bird Justice around the International Space Elevator. The following day, remaining aircraft engaged two ADF-11F Ravens attempting to transmit collected data through by using the space elevator. Ultimately, Trigger shot down both drones, flying inside the space elevator to do so.

   In December 2019, during the Expo City Conference, a treaty was signed between Osea and Erusea which officially ended the Lighthouse War.

   Postwar (2020–today) In January 2020, a mutual nonaggression pact was signed by Osea and Erusea in North Point, further reducing hostilities between the two nations which were still present due to the Lighthouse War.

   On June 30, 2020, Osea hosted an event commemorating 25 years since the end of the Belkan War on its Memorial Day. Unlike previous years, the Osean government invited many other nations to participate in the event as well, including Erusea, Yuktobania, Emmeria, Estovakia, Leasath, Aurelia, Ustio, Sapin, Central Usea, and Belka. Near the capital Oured, at Redmill Air Force Base, air units and aircraft from across the world were showcased alongside one another.

   Geography: Osea encompasses a massive amount of land on the northern section of the Osean continent. Its size is only rivaled by Yuktobania, which is the largest country on Strangereal's Earth. Most of Osea's territory has a temperate climate, but its northern lands and islands, close to the Arctic Ocean, are covered in snow and ice. Osea also controls many islands surrounding its land, including Sand Island, the Solo Islands, and Kirwin Island to the west.

   The majority of Osea is surrounded by water, but it does share some land borders to the east (with Belka, Sapin, and Ustio) and south. Its capital, Oured, is located on a peninsula next to Oured Bay, which itself is linked to the Spring Sea to the southeast.

   Politics: Government: Osea is a democratic federal republic, headed by a popularly-elected President and Vice President who assume the executive office in four-year terms. Other executive roles in Osea's government include a Foreign Minister. The government is also sub-divided into many departments with their own assigned duties, such as the Ministry, and later Department, of Defense and the Osean Aerospace Bureau.

   As a federal republic, Osea's territory is divided into smaller, individual states, supposedly with their own smaller governments. One notable state is the state of North Osea, formerly the state of "South Belka".

   Military: Osea supports one of the largest and most well-equipped military forces in the world. Known as the Osean Defense Forces, the nation's military comprises the Osean Air Defense Force, the Osean Maritime Defense Force (which supports a marine division), the Osean Army, and Osean Coastal Defense Force.

   Economy: Osea's capitalist economy appears to be thriving throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The country is capable of redirecting its funds to massively expand its military or to progress in space development without much impact to the rest of the country. Osea's national currency is the Zollar (Ƶ).

   The Osean Air Defense Force (OADF), colloquially referred to as the Osean Air Force, is the aerial warfare service branch of the Osean Defense Forces. It is one of the largest air forces in the world and utilizes highly-advanced aircraft such as the ADF-01 FALKEN. Known deployments include the Belkan War and Circum-Pacific War. More recently, it was deployed during the Lighthouse War.

   History: Belkan War: The Osean Air Defense Force was known to have existed in its current name as early as 1990 when it established the Wizard Team[1], while the first known deployment occurred in 1995 during the Belkan War. Following Belka's expansion into neighboring territory on March 25, the Osean military formed an alliance with the Republic of Ustio and created the Allied Forces along with Yuktobania and Sapin. They would participate in various operations throughout the war, most notably Operations Battle-Axe and Cannibal. Following the end of the war, the OADF would recruit a number of Belkan pilots into their ranks.

   Circum-Pacific War: In 2010, the OADF would once again see action during the Circum-Pacific War. The Air Force played an important role throughout the war, defending the Osean Federation from the initial attacks and later participating in the invasion of Yuktobania. In particular, the Wardog Squadron became a major source for Osean Army's morale, gaining a reputation as the "Demons of Razgriz" following Operation Long Harpoon where they sank the Yuktobanian underwater submarine, Hrimfaxi, in the Razgriz Straits. During the final hours of the war, several OADF squadrons would participate in the Battle of Sudentor, both assisting the Ghosts of Razgriz in making access to the SOLG's control facility and fighting against them, attempting to claim the SOLG's nuclear payload for themselves.

   Lighthouse War: In 2019, the Kingdom of Erusea declared war on the Osean Federation and once again, the OADF was deployed. At least two F-15C fighters from the Air Defense Force participated in the interception of Erusean MQ-99 drones targeting naval ports across mainland Osea, one of which shot down the F-104C piloted by Avril Mead, and subsequently forced her to crash-land in an OADF base that was also destroyed by the drones. Following the drone attacks, the Air Defense Force released a statement addressing the origin of these drones.

   Throughout the Lighthouse War, units from the Air Defense Force would be deployed during various operations, either seconded to the IUN-PKF or independently as the Long Range Strategic Strike Group (LRSSG). The LRSSG played a critical role as the vanguards in a series of major campaigns for Osea and IUN forces, including operations against the submersible aviation cruiser Alicorn and the two Arsenal Birds.

   However, the OADF was severely hampered after the global satellite networks were destroyed as a result of anti-satellite operations carried out by both Erusean and Osean fighters during Operation Giant's Step. The loss of communications led to multiple friendly fire events, including the one after Operation Gorgon causing the death of General Édouard Labarthe, and also allowed the prisoners of an unnamed Osean penal unit to escape and attack former allies with stolen aircraft.

   Organization The Osean Air Defense Force follows a traditional air force structure. It is divided into large groups, wings, which are then divided into smaller groups and squadrons. While the body responsible for commanding the force itself is the Osean Air Defense Force Central Command, OADF fighter squadrons, as well as fighter squadrons of Osean Maritime Defense Force during emergency situations, are under the jurisdiction of the Air Combat Commando group. The OADF also features smaller sub-divisions, including a Technology Development Bureau.

   The Osean Ground Defense Force (OGDF), colloquially known as the Osean Army, is the ground service branch of the Osean Defense Forces.

   History: The Army, being a critical component of the Osean military, has seen combat in several conflicts. In March and April 1995, with the outbreak of the Belkan War, they halted and repulsed a Belkan invasion of Osea's recently acquired Great Lakes territories, before deploying airborne troops to help liberate the allied nation of Ustio in May. Following the Allied resolution to inspect and strip Belka of nuclear weapons, the Osean Army invaded South Belka and, after initial opposition, began occupying demilitarized towns as the Belkan Army retreated north. The Osean advance was only halted with the June 6th Nuclear Attacks, which sealed the Waldriech passes to North Belka an ended major ground operations in the war.

   Circum-Pacific War: The Osean Army established a beachhead on the Bastok Peninsula over a month after the start of the Circum-Pacific War. In the month that followed, the Osean Army rapidly advanced through central Yuktobania, capturing strategic positions such as the Jilachi Desert. By December, the Osean Army had successfully captured Cruik Fortress and was beginning preparations to attack Cinigrad.

   However, the offensive subsequently stalled in the face of intense resistance, at least partially due to insufficient air support, and the war entered a stalemate. The stalemate would continue until December 30, when President Vincent Harling and Prime Minister Seryozha Viktrovich Nikanor held a peace talk, calling for their respective armies to fight against the true enemy responsible for the war, the Grey Men. Elements of the Osean Army subsequently moved to Sudentor to support the offensive, and the Grey Men were soon defeated.

   The Army also participated in the final battle of the war, as troops and ground vehicles were deployed to block off the main highway into Oured in order to allow Razgriz Squadron to use the highway as a makeshift runway to takeoff during Operation Arcadia.

   Lighthouse War: A large detachment of the OGDF operating under the callsign(s) Menhir and commanded by Major Deanna McOnie was responsible for providing area security at Stonehenge during Operation Dragon Breath. Engineers from the OGDF were also responsible for restoring and firing one of the railguns. With the assistance of the LRSSG, the OGDF successfully prevented Stonehenge from being overrun by Erusean forces, allowing the weapon to successfully destroy Arsenal Bird Liberty.

   Osean Army units formed the bulk of the forces that laid siege to Farbanti during the pivotal battle. Despite facing stiff Erusean resistance, with aid from the Long Range Strategic Strike Group and an off-shore Osean fleet, they were able to take Farbanti. However, their victory was short-lived, as Osean and Erusean anti-satellite attacks caused a communications black-out that affected the War.

   OGDF forces were among the stranded combatants that were part of the fighting at Anchorhead. It would only be thanks to the efforts of AWACS Long Caster that they were able to navigate out of the combat zone. Also, during that battle, an Osean Special Forces unit led by Captain Karl attempted to extract Édouard Labarthe, an Erusean general who wished to defect. Even though Karl's unit successfully escaped the city, they were mistakenly shot down by OADF jets who were unaware of the mission and were misled into believing Karl was an Erusean impostor.

   Both nations used PASGT (Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops) helmets and vests in M81 Woodland camouflage. Interestingly, Osea continued to issue these by 2010, when the United States had already retired the PASGT and US woodland.

   The Osean Ground Defense Force appears to draft civilians for specialist duties. This can be seen in Operation Dragon Breath, where it is mentioned that the survey team responsible for tracking the Arsenal Bird's movements is civilians, and likely students.

   The Osean Maritime Defense Force (OMDF), colloquially known as the Osean Navy, is the naval branch of the Osean Defense Forces. Osean ships serving under the OMDF carry the prefix OFS (Osean Federation Ship). The OMDF is one of the largest naval forces in the world and its fleets have an impressive battle record. The 3rd Osean Naval Fleet in particular participated in major conflicts at the turn of the 21st century.

   History: Origins: The OMDF was formed sometime by the 16th century, when Admiral Stafford formed the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet. Stafford subsequently earned the nickname "Father of the Navy".

   By July 1991, Osea had six Hubert-class aircraft carriers across its fleets. The OMDF issued a contract on July 29 to the Newport Sargo Shipyard for the construction of a seventh Hubert-class carrier, the OFS Kestrel.

   Belkan War: Early in the Belkan War, Osea initiated Offensive Campaign No. 4101 to capture the Futuro Canal and secure a sea route for advancing further north into Ustio and Belka. The OMDF's 3rd Osean Naval Fleet took part in this operation and used the opportunity to give the OFS Kestrel a trial voyage. Ustio mercenary pilots, including Galm Team, assisted the fleet's advance by wiping out Belkan resistance. With the operation's success, the OMDF was able to perform naval transit from Osea into Belka for the rest of the war.

   Circum-Pacific War: In the 2010s, the OMDF was deployed again when war broke out with Yuktobania. Yuktobanian Air Force and Yuktobanian Navy launched a raid on St. Hewlett, an Osean naval base and home of the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet. The Kestrel was able to escape the port thanks to the efforts of Wardog Squadron and VFA-206. On September 30, an ambush at the Eaglin Straits by the Yuktobanian submarine Scinfaxi sunk the carriers OFS Buzzard and OFS Vulture along with many escort vessels and carrier-based aircraft. Later in the war, the OMDF's LCACs shipped a tank battalion from the Osean Army to the Bastok Peninsula in Yuktobania, where they executed Operation Footprint, establishing a bridgehead in Yuktobania.

   In December, the Kestrel, as well as a number of other ships, went rogue. The Kestrel uncovered that the Belkan Grey Men orchestrated the war. The Kestrel became the base of operations for Razgriz Squadron, who were launched on various missions against the Grey Men, including the rescue of President Vincent Harling.

   On December 29, 2010, during Operation Glory Horn, an Osean fleet led by the carrier OFS Barbet, was detected during an engagement between the Admiral Tsanev fleet and the Kestrel Fleet. Since the Kestrel Fleet had allied itself with three defecting Yuktobanian naval ships, the Osean fleet went labelled them "traitors" and attacked. Admist the engagement, the Barbet, her strike group and the hostile Yuktobanian vessels were sunk by the Razgriz. The following day, the Kestrel was attacked and sunk by an enemy submarine, however, the Razgriz and most of its crew were able to launch, and the enemy submarine was destroyed.

   Interwar period: After peace with Yuktobania was re-established, the Osean Federation began to rebuild its maritime fleet and began construction of new aircraft carriers. Eventually, a number of new carriers were commissioned, including a new OFS Vulture and the cutting-edge OFS Kestrel II.

   Following their commissioning, the OMDF began development of a new class of carrier, intending to name each vessel after Osean war heroes. The first ship was initially planned to be christened the "Nicholas A. Andersen", before the name changed to the "Admiral Andersen".

   Lighthouse War: Around ten years after the Circum-Pacific War, the OMDF found itself engaged with the Kingdom of Erusea's forces for control of the International Space Elevator. Once again, their power projection capabilities were limited after many of their aircraft carriers were rendered inoperable following Erusea's drone attacks on Osean naval ports.

   Mothballed aircraft formerly used by the OMDF, including F-14D Super Tomcats and F/A-18F Super Hornets, were utilised by Spare Squadron to defend the 444th Air Base and in other engagements in Usea. These aircraft had their emblems painted over with 'sin lines', as was customary for other aircraft stationed at the base.

   During Operation Dual Wielder, International Union Peacekeeping Force squadrons from Fort Grays Island linked up with the OFS Vulture for a joint mission to secure air superiority over the Chopinburg Rainforest. Unbeknownst to the IUN forces, however, Erusea managed to acquire the Arsenal Birds Liberty and Justice, deploying the former in an attempt to repel the aerial forces. During this time, the OFS Kestrel II was deployed to bomb Farbanti, but was ultimately sunk in the ensuing battle.

   The OMDF later took part during the operations to seize the Alicorn, and was present in some capacity in two out of the three operations, Operation Sighthound and Operation Fisherman. During Operation Sighthound, a detachment of ships led by the Puffin attempted to capture the Alicorn, only for all ships in the group to be crippled by the submarine's railguns, in spite of the LRSSG having guarded them while en-route to Artiglio Port.

   On September 19, 2019, during Operation Giant's Step, a combined fleet of ships led by the OFS Stork engaged an Erusean naval formation tasked with defending Farbanti. With the combined efforts of Trigger and the Long Range Strategic Strike Group, the Osean fleet was able to overpower the fierce resistance of the remnants of the Erusean Navy. However, after the Osean Ground Defense Force began moving onto the enemy's general HQ, Sol Squadron entered the airspace in a final effort to drive the advancing Osean forces back; Mihaly A. Shilage began attacking the vessels preparing to forcefully dock, severely damaging the cruisers Hornbill & Shoebill, before moving on to engage the LRSSG.

   On October 10, 2019, during Operation Reflux, a trio of Osean landing ships was retreating from Tyler Island. Amidst the chaos of the unreliable IFF due to the satellites being knocked out of commission, Jaeger noticed that one of the ships, Wagtail, was an Osean vessel and were forced to retreat and leave behind troops retreating at the beachhead. Despite the overwhelming odds, AWACS Long Caster identified the LRSSG as friendly and tasked them with providing immediate support to the forces under fire, and allowed stranded Osean forces to make their way to the landing ships.

   During Operation Daredevil, a formation of Osean missile destroyers led by the cruiser Starling participated in the unified attack on the remaining Arsenal Bird, Justice, alongside the coalition of Osean and Erusean forces. Despite the superior firepower, Justice activated its Microwave Powered Dome, rendering the saturation attack useless. The Arsenal Bird then began using its forward-mounted laser to destroy the Starling, Drake, and Lark, forcing the rest of the remaining fleet to withdraw from the area. Following Justice's destruction, remaining forces were forced to retreat as two new advanced UAVs had entered the airspace, landing at the abandoned OFS Admiral Andersen aircraft carrier. The following day, they took off from the carrier to engage the UAVs.

   Osea is one of the largest continents in Strangereal. It is located east of Verusa and west of the Usea. It is connected to its smaller southern counterpart, South Osea. The Osean Federation, a global superpower, is located on it.

   Early history (–1905): During an unspecified time in history, the Belkan Knights rose to power in northern Osea. Their influence spread throughout the region.

   In the 1100s, construction began on Stier Castle.

   Prior to the 1800s, the country of Osea was formed with Bana City as its capital.

   During the 1900s, Belka began increasing its productive capacity.

   Osean War (1905–1910): The Osean War began in 1905 and lasted until 1910. During the war, the Belkan military was the first force to utilize aircraft in warfare, creating the Belkan Air Force. These attacks proved devastating to the Oseans, who soon after also began using warplanes.

   As the war progressed, Belka developed more advanced aircraft with the purpose of maintaining air superiority. Due to their increased industrial strength, Belka was able to produce more aircraft at a rapid rate.[8] It is currently unknown which country won the war.

   Rectan Conflict (1973): In the 1970s, pro-democratic riots took place in Recta, ultimately resulting in Belkan military intervention. During the war, the Rectan and Belkan air forces saw multiple engagements. resulting in many Belkan casualties. Eventually, the war reached a stalemate.

   The Rectan Air Force was notable for having fewer pilots than most east Osean territories, but the Rectan pilots were highly skilled. The Belkan Air Force, unfamiliar to such resistance, suffered heavy losses early in the war. The two forces soon became stalemated, both on the ground and in the air.

   In 1973, the Belkan Air Force deployed Silber Team, who successfully captured the Mainz Mountains, breaking the stalemate. This allowed the Belkan Army troops to invade and occupy, Recta's capital, Cor. Ultimately, Belka won the war.

   Belkan economic crisis (1980s)

   Cold War (1980s–1995): In the 1980s, tensions between the Osean Federation and the Union of Yuktobanian Republics began to rise. Both countries saw huge economic growth as their influence across the globe expanded.

   Wellow Incident (1985): In 1985, a flight of unidentified aircraft entered the airspace surrounding Crescens Island in northern Belka. The Belkan Air Force deployed Silber Team in response. Silber then shot down the unidentified aircraft.

   Spring Sea Treaty (1990s): Int he late 1990s, the Osean Federation proposed a military pact with multiple countries in southern Usea. On May 30, 1997, the day of the treaty signing, many military leaders in northern Usea launched a coup d'état which prevented the signing.

    Officially the Principality of Belk, and formerly the Belkan Federation, is a major country on the Osean continent. Belka shares borders with Osea, FATO, Gebet, Recta, and Ustio.

    Belka is best known for pioneering the use of aircraft in war, particularly with its legendary Belkan Air Force. Historically, the country was a leading scientific and industrial power, which utilized its strength to advance its imperialist policy in the 20th century. This culminated in the 1995 Belkan War, in which Belka detonated seven nuclear weapons on its own soil. Belka's defeat also resulted in the nation being reduced to less than half of its size.

    The country is still recovering from the Belkan War, in which it lost the majority of its territory. Nationalists have attempted to influence world conflicts, including the Circum-Pacific War and the Lighthouse War, in efforts to exact revenge.

    History: Medieval era: The modern Belkan state was preceded by feudal governments ruled by knights and aristocratic families. Some examples include the House of Ludwig and the Albrecht Imperial Knights. Other notable descendants of these "Belkan knights" are Dimitri Heinreich and Wolfgang Buchner.

    These groups laid the foundation for the patriotic attitude of future generations, along with the political structure of the country. Some modern Belkans continue to hold their bloodlines as status symbols.

    Modern era: Belkan Federation 1987: After the end of the medieval ages, Belka continued to exist as a nation, eventually becoming a major industrialized nation by the start of the 20th century. Their nationalism led to a number of wars with neighboring Osea, including the Osean War from 1905 to 1910. The Osean War was marked by Belka's achievement of becoming the first country to use aircraft in military operations outside reconnaissance roles, leading to the formation of the Belkan Air Force.

    An unknown conflict took place in the 1940s.

    The seventies saw a reorganization of the country's armed forces, along with the rise of an internal campaign of self-determination that led to a series of territorial conflicts with countries from eastern Osea. One such state, Recta, was eventually invaded and forcibly assimilated into Belka. The country held amiable relations with Estovakia, and became their main supplier of weapons in 1970, after the Union of Yuktobanian Republics.

    After the invasion of Recta, an emboldened Belka transformed into a federation, and its military underwent similar changes.

    Economic crisis: By the onset of the 1980s, the leaders of the Belkan Army, motivated by their country's progress, had begun the development of a series of weapons of mass destruction and experimental systems for the purposes of defending Belka from foreign invasions. These projects coincided with the ongoing Cold War between Yuktobania and Osea. These included the Excalibur anti-missile laser tower, the ADFX-01 and ADFX-02 Morgan aircraft, the V2 warheads, and the XB-0 Hresvelgr heavy command cruiser.

    Sometime by 1987, Osea and Belka collaborated in forming the Five Great Lakes Resource Exploration Company to investigate natural resources in the Great Lakes region. However, the company ended up massively in debt; coupled with Belka's increased military spending, the country entered a deep recession throughout 1987. This triggered an internal "Federal Law Review", the process of which allowed the country's eastern territories to secede to prevent total economic collapse. These territories became the countries of Ustio, Gebet, and a reborn Recta.

    The Federal Law Review resulted in the discovery of Osea having manipulated the Five Great Lakes company to destabilize Belka's economy. In the next election, the Democratic Liberal Party gained majority power in the government, and reformations were made as a result.

    Belkan War: In March 1995, Belka discovered a source of underground resources in a mountainous region in the Belka-Ustio border, a sector called "Area B7R", leading them to declare war on the Osean Federation and their former territories in an attempt to reclaim their lost lands and rescue their economy. The Belkan siege, beginning with an aerial skirmish near the border with Fato, saw the conquest of most of Ustio, northern Sapin and cities of east Osea, but their initial advantage fell to a rapid counterattack by Osea and Ustio, the Allied Forces, with Ustio being liberated on May 13 of that year.

    Both countries launched an invasion campaign shortly thereafter, besieging the "Hydrian Line" and the region of Glatisant after the discovery of the V2 project. The lines of defense of south Belka rapidly fell to the Allied advance; the southern cities, disillusioned by the Belkan Army's use of them as defense lines for the "Fatherland", surrendered peacefully and declared themselves demilitarized zones. After Osea's abrogation of a non-aggression treaty against Belka and a massive aerial attack on B7R, the fall of the region was followed by intense attacks on its industry, including the saturation bombing of Hoffnung.

    The army's leaders, believing in the might of Belka, ordered the nuclear bombing of their own country after the fall of Excalibur in May 23. The first such order was issued to Wolfgang "The Raven" Buchner, who decided to escape Belka and defect to the Allies, being shot down during the battle of B7R. On June 6, seven V1 nuclear weapons were detonated in towns across the Waldreich Mountains, leading to a cessation of hostilities and the start of peace talks between Waldemarr Rald's government and the Allies.

    The formal surrender of Belka took place in June 19, 1995 in the border city of Lumen. Despite an ongoing movement by Belkan Army holdouts, the signing of the Treaty of Lumen was carried out without problems.

    Postwar period: The Treaty of Lumen caused Belka to lose the entirety of South Belka to Osea, causing Nord Belka to become the "Principality of Belka", retaining all lands north of the Waldreich Mountains. A reformation process began shortly after the war, which involved the dissolution of the Belkan Army and a transformation of its government. The South Belka Munitions Factory, the former federation's main weapons manufacturer, became Osean property as Gründer Industries.

    In December 1995, the postwar government was overthrown in a coup d'état by the A World With No Boundaries rebel army led by Anton Kupchenko, the former director of Project Pendragon. The organization was defeated by the Allies on New Year's Eve during the siege of Avalon Dam, from which they intended to launch a V2 missile. Former mercenary Larry Foulke, a member of the uprising, was shot down in the ADFX-02 Morgan prototype by the hired pilot Cipher while trying to launch the weapon, putting an end to the insurgency.

    An Osean investigation of the uprising uncovered a connection between Waldemarr Rald and Kupchenko's movement, leading to his ousting from power in 1996.

    Modern times: Belka recovered from the two wars on its soil, and began a long path to reconstruction. Lingering pro-Belkan sentiments remained in the population, including the mysterious Grey Men of the former Belkan army, who formed a private army from ultranationalists and sympathizers and used their power to pit Osea and Yuktobania into a second Cold War in the 21st century, efforts that eventually led to a intercontinental war in 2010.

    Following the Belkan War, a number of Belkans were exiled from the nation and emigrated to Estovakia around the time of the Estovakian Civil War in the late 2000s. During the civil war, they aided the Eastern Faction construct the P-1112 Aigaion, by providing them data regarding the XB-0 Hresvelgr. The Aigaion ultimately helped the Eastern Faction secure victory in the civil war and later assisted them greatly against Emmeria in the initial stages of the Emmeria-Estovakia War.

    Following the revelation of the Grey Men conspiracy in 2010, a stereotype of Belkans as devious schemers was developed. During the Erusean civil war in the middle of the Lighthouse War, the conservative faction indiscriminately killed Belkan nationals involved with the Tyler Island Mass Driver, as they believed the Belkans had brought ruin to their country.

    General information: Geography and culture: Once one of the largest countries in the Osean continent, Belka was famous for its nationalism and knightly traditions dating back to the medieval area, which became the basis for the modern culture of the state. In the 20th century, military parades and public speeches were a common occurrence. A national flower was also known to have existed, although the exact type is uncertain. As with other nations, English was the main spoken language of Belka, yet the existence of an indigenous Belkan language is also known.

    Following the events of the Osean War, Belka became an industrial power, relying on its factories and products to achieve power. It also had an indigenous aviation industry, reputed for producing aircraft with excellent acceleration and speed, whose rise was closely linked to the birth of modern aerial warfare in said war. Various types of planes were produced through history, including the Bm-335 Lindwurm bomber.

    Ustio, officially the Republic of Ustio, is a small landlocked nation located on the Osean continent. It is bordered by Belka to the north; Recta and Ratio to the east; Sapin to the south; and Osea to the west. Ustio's capital, Directus, is situated near the center of the nation. Formerly Belkan territory, Ustio seceded from the Belkan Federation as a result of the Belkan economic crisis, declaring its independence on May 12, 1988. In 1995, Belka invaded Ustio as part of the Belkan War in an attempt to acquire the newly discovered resource deposits in northwest Ustio, conquering most of the country before being pushed back by the Osean-led Allied Forces.

    Ustio is largely agrarian, featuring rolling patchworks of farmland and remote towns, such as Solis Ortus, situated in the rugged mountain ranges. Ustio's northern regions are known to be rich in natural resources. The Ustian military is known to supplement its regular forces with mercenaries, using them to great effect during the Belkan War.

    Prior to its independence, Ustio was a territory of the Belkan Federation. However, ethnic Ustians regarded Belkan rule unfavorably and sought independence from Belkan rule and influence.[1]

    Secession and independence (1988) Main article: Belkan economic crisis In the wake of its heightened military expansion during the Cold War, Belka descended into an economic recession destabilizing the national economy. Belka's internal Federal Law Review ultimately resulted in the secession of Gebet, Recta, and Ustio from Belka. On May 12, 1988, the Republic of Ustio officially declared independence and established its capital in the city of Directus.

    Post-independence, Ustio's economy was largely based on skilled craftsmanship and agriculture. Although Directus experienced some development, the country as a whole remained stagnant. This was echoed in the nation's modest military force, which remained relatively insignificant by the mid-1990s. However, in early 1995, vast deposits of valuable natural resources were discovered along Ustio's northwest border with Belka.[2]

    Belkan War (1995) Belkan invasion On March 25, 1995, the Belkan Federation invaded Ustio in an effort to acquire the newly discovered resource deposits in the country's northwest, also invading Osea and Sapin. The small Ustian military was overwhelmed by Belka's offensive. By March 30, the Belkan Army occupied nearly all of Ustio, including the capital city Directus, leaving only the Tyrann Mountains and its surrounding area free from Belkan control.

    Due to[citation needed] the significant losses taken during the Belkan invasion, Ustio resorted to soliciting and employing mercenaries to replenish its military personnel. By April 1, Ustio joined the Allied Forces alongside Osea, Yuktobania, and Sapin, and began executing counter-offensive operations.

    On April 2, the Belkan Air Force attempted to bomb Valais Air Base in the Tyrann Mountains and eliminate the remainder of Ustio's combat power. However, the Ustio Air Force successfully defended the air base, stopping the Belkan offensive.

    Liberation of Ustio: Following the defense of Valais Air Base, the Belkan offense was stymied and the Allied Forces began to prepare for the liberation of occupied Ustio, Sapin, and Osea. Although numerically small, the Ustio Air Force played a key role in allied operations, leading Operation Roselein to reopen the Route 171 supply route and Operation Choker One over Area B7R to distract from an allied naval offensive. Ustian fighter units also supported the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet's movement through the Futuro Canal as part of Offensive Campaign No. 4101. These naval forces were used to support the liberation of Osean and Ustian territory.

    On May 12, 1995, the seventh anniversary of Ustio's independence from Belka, the Allied Forces launched Operation Varsity to liberate Solis Ortus in southern Ustio. The next day, on May 13, the Allied Forces liberated Directus during Operation Constantine. Following the liberation of Directus, the Belkan forces in Ustio crumbled and the Allied Forces began advancing into Belka.

    End of the war Following Ustio's liberation, the Allied Forces continued advancing into Belka. Ustian air units participated in Operation Hell Bound against Belka's Hydrian Line at Glatisant, an airborne assault on the Schayne Plains, and an airstrike on Belka's Excalibur anti-ballistic missile and anti-aircraft weapon. Ustian air units also provided support to the Osean-led strategic bombing of Hoffnung, much to the distaste of some Ustian pilots.

    On June 6, as the Allied Forces continued their advance, Allied intelligence indicated that a Belkan bomber squadron had taken off to execute a nuclear strike against Ustio. While the Ustio Air Force managed to intercept the bomber squadron over the Waldreich Mountains in Operation Ravage, Belka dropped seven nuclear weapons along the border of North Belka and South Belka, killing 12,000 people; this resulted in a ceasefire between Belka and the Allied forces. This caused Ustian pilots Larry Foulke and Blair Winthrop to desert the military.

    A World With No Boundaries crisis: While the Belkan government prepared to negotiate its surrender to the Allied Forces, A World With No Boundaries, a radical terrorist group consisting of renegade Belkan, Osean, Sapinish, Yuktobanian, and Ustian military personnel, sought to continue the war to eliminate all national borders. On 13 June, Ustio Air Force units covertly executed Operation Stone Age at Mount Schirm against rebel Belkan forces aligned with A World With No Boundaries.[16] Belka officially surrendered to the Allied Forces on June 20, 1995. Operation Broom, a covert Allied operation, was also executed to eliminate A World With No Boundaries-aligned Belkan rebels at Anfang.

    On December 25, 1995, A World With No Boundaries used the XB-0 Hresvelgr to bomb the Osean city of Lumen and Ustio's Valais Air Base. In response, Ustio launched Operation Valkyrie to destroy the XB-0 over the Waldreich Mountains. Following the engagement, Ustian intelligence unveiled that A World With No Boundaries intended to launch the V2 nuclear weapon. Ustio Air Force units were dispatched to Area B7R where Galm Team eliminated a significant portion of A World With No Boundaries leadership. At Avalon Dam, Allied Forces air units executed Operation Point Blank on December 31, eliminating A World With No Boundaries and the V2.

    Postwar (1995–present) In the years after the Belkan War, Ustio maintained friendly relations with Osea and Sapin.[citation needed] The Ustian people remain outspokenly proud of their independence; the bell tower in Directus chimes every day at sunset to commemorate the city's liberation during the war.

    On June 30, 2020, Ustio attended a ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the end of the Belkan War after being invited by the Osean Federation. The Ustio Air Force sent five Mirage 2000-5s to be showcased at Redmill Air Force Base alongside the aircraft of other participating nations; replica Galm Team aircraft were also present.

    Geography: Ustio is a landlocked nation with varying topography.     Yuktobania, officially known as the Union of Yuktobanian Republics, is an international superpower and the largest nation on the Verusan continent, encompassing the majority of the continent's north. It is located within the nation's northern highlands. Yuktobania is a highly developed nation that possesses a large population, industrialized economy, and a well-outfitted military force. The country is also regarded for its many advancements in aerospace technology, submersible engineering, and ballistic missile weaponry.

    History: Early history: There is little information available regarding Yuktobania's early history and founding. Early navigational charts do not demarcate Yuktobania's capital, Cinigrad, which could indicate that the union was not formally established until sometime in the 19th or 20th centuries.

    Modern era (1970s–): In 1970, Yuktobania established relations with Estovakia, becoming one of its main suppliers of weapons alongside Belka. Estovakia ultimately became very reliant on these arms imports, causing their domestic weapons development to stagnate.

    Cold War (1980s–1995): Over the course of the mid-20th century, Yuktobania flourished and began to expand its political influence around the globe. However, tensions with the Osean Federation—Yuktobania's rival superpower across the Ceres Ocean—resulted in a prolonged Cold War between the two nations. The possibility of unrestrained nuclear war drove Yuktobania into an ongoing arms race with Osea. During the 1980s, the Yuktobanian military made several advancements in long-range ballistic missile technology. When the Osean government announced the creation of atmospheric weapons systems to intercept these warheads, Yuktobania began exploring new launch-platforms for its nuclear arsenal. In September 1991, the incumbent prime minister, Samanov, publicly unveiled the Scinfaxi-class submersible carrier, which in turn compelled Osea to begin development of the Arkbird maneuverable spacecraft.

    Belkan War (1995): In late March 1995, Belka declared war on its neighboring countries and invaded northeastern Osea. For reasons that remain unknown, Yuktobania joined the Oseans' military coalition and supported its fight against the Belkans. Over the course of the war, Yuktobanian fighter squadrons served alongside Osean and mercenary pilots against the powerful Belkan Air Force. Yuktobania is also known to have provided intelligence-gathering resources to the Allies, and even dispatched several of its reconnaissance officers to serve in the East. In the aftermath of the war, a number of Yuktobanian pilots defected to the militant extremist organization known as "A World With No Boundaries".

    Era of peace (1996–2010) In 1996, Yuktobania signed a bilateral agreement with Osea that officially ended the Cold War. Following the peace pact, Yuktobania and Osea began to focus money and resources towards collaborative projects, such as the reborn Arkbird project.

    On April 21, 1996, the leader of Yuktobania and the president of Sotoa held a symbolic meeting.

    In 2000, Prime Minister Seryozha Viktrovich Nikanor implemented "Glasnost" as a means to promote freedom of information and organization reform. The implementation of Glasnost helped military analysts confirm the existance of a successor vessel to the Scinfaxi-class submarines Scinfaxi and Hrimfaxi.

    Yuktobania remained neutral during the Continental War in Usea from 2003 to 2005, but it was engaged in mutual arms trade with Erusea until its defeat by the Independent State Allied Forces. Some of this equipment was later stolen in 2006 by the rebel group Free Erusea and used to stage attacks throughout Usea.

    Collaboration with Osea: In 2008, Yuktobanian ambassadors attended the G7 Summit, which was hosted aboard the Arkbird; the meeting resulted in a number of historic disarmament initiatives, such as the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty and Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.[21]

    Scientists and specialists from the Yuktobanian National Space Agency and the Osean Aerospace Bureau later collaborated to address the Ulysses fragments that still lingered in orbit; it was eventually decided that the Arkbird would be employed to eliminate the debris. The Arkbird ultimately cleared a majority of Ulysses's debris, allowing Yuktobania, together with Osea, to spearhead the creation of an international space station in the 2000s.[18] As the first step toward realizing this, the two superpowers constructed Basset Space Center.[21]

    Circum-Pacific War (2010): Opening battles: Wardog Squadron is redirected to intercept unidentified aircraft during a training exercise In 2010, under the influence of the Grey Men, a coup placed control of the Yuktobanian government in the hands of the military. Starting in late September, Yuktobanian aircraft would be sent to the vacinity of Sand Island Air Force Base, performing incursions into Osean airspace.

    On September 27, Yuktobania formally declared war on Osea, sparking the Circum-Pacific War. Concurrently, Yuktobanian forces launched surprise attacks on the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet stationed at St. Hewlett, where they inflicted substantial damage to the port facilities but failed to sink the OFS Kestrel.

    Escalation: On September 30, while the three Osean Maritime Defense Force carriers Kestrel, Buzzard and Vulture were transiting the Eaglin Straits, Yuktobania's submarine Scinfaxi ambushed and sunk the second and third carriers using burst missiles. In response, Osea began to retrofit the Arkbird spacecraft with laser weaponry capable of countering the Scinfaxi. On October 3, Yuktobanian Army tanks were airdropped into Basset Space Center with the objective of preventing an SSTO from delivering the laser weaponry to the Arkbird but failed due to the efforts of Wardog Squadron and other Osean forces.

    On October 4, Yuktobania conducted a large scale offensive with the objective of capturing Sand Island, deploying a large force in addition to the Scinfaxi. Ultimately, the combined forces of the Osean Air Defense Force and retrofitted Arkbird managed to prevent the landing and sink the submarine.

    On November 1, the Osean military conducted a retaliatory landing operation on the Yuktobanian mainland, at the tip of the Bastok Peninsula, successfully securing the coastline. Following the success of the operation, Osean forces began advancing toward the Yuktobanian capital of Cinigrad. The following day, a skirmish occured above Dresdene, during which an Osean aggressor squadron fired upon an engineering college. In response to the attacks at Dresdene, Yuktobanian Special Forces used nerve gas on Bana City while another cell of Yuktobanian forces launched an attack on Apito International Airport.

    From the Razgriz Straits, the Hrimfaxi fires at Osean forces To counter the Osean Army, which was still advancing toward Cinigrad, Yuktobania dispatched its second Scinfaxi-class submarine, the Hrimfaxi, to the portion of the Razgriz Straits within Emmeria's maritime borders, likely without the knowledge of the Anean nations.[22] In response, the Osean Air Force deployed Wardog Squadron to the straits on November 14, where they ambushed and sank the Hrimfaxi while it was resupplying. Yuktobania later attacked a peace ceremony at November City on November 29.

    Stalemate: On December 6, the Osean military captured Cruik Fortress from Yuktobania. However, following the disappearance of Wardog Squadron, the war entered somewhat of a stalemate.[28] Nearly two weeks later, the Arkbird, which was now commandeered by Belkan nationalists, attempted to attack the Yuktobanian city of Okchabursk. However, this was prevented by Razgriz Squadron.

    A three-way battle occurs in the Ceres Ocean: On December 23, Yuktobanian Prime Minister Seryozha Viktrovich Nikanor was rescued by Captain Jack Bartlett and the Yuktobanian resistance before being transported to the Kestrel. Six days later, the Kestrel was intercepted by Yuktobanian Navy vessels in the Ceres Ocean. Prime Minister Nikanor attempted to sway his countrymen to a peaceful resolution with Osea, causing a number of Yuktobanian vessels to defect, while others remained in opposition. Meanwhile, another Osean fleet entered the area and a three-way battle ensued, during which Razgriz and the coalition Kestrel Fleet managed to emerge victorious.

    Ending the war: President Harling and Prime Minister Nikanor make a joint declaration at Bright Hill On December 30, it was uncovered that the Belkan Grey Men had access to V2 weapons of mass destruction and the Strategic Orbital Linear Gun. The same day, Osean President Vincent Harling held a joint press conference with Yuktobanian Prime Minister Nikanor at Bright Hill. During which, they announced the end of the conflict and urged both their respective armed forces to cease hostilities with one another and instead join together to stop the threat of the Grey Men.

    The announcement caused a number Osean and Yuktobanian units to ally and conduct a joint strike on the headquarters of North Osea Gründer Industries in Sudentor, while more hardline Osean and Yuktobanian forces continued to engage each other. The following day, Razgriz Squadron destroyed the SOLG, marking the definitive end of the conflict.

    Postwar (2010–): Following the end of the Circum-Pacific War, now also referred to as the Belkan Conflict, the militaries of both Yuktobania and Osea were weakened, causing Free Erusea to begin planning a resurgence. Additionally, Osea managed to surpass Yuktobania in influence to an extent, becoming the leader of the international order. By 2011, Prime Minister Nikanor was reappointed as Prime Minister of the Union of Yuktobanian Republics.

    In April 2011, Prime Minister Nikanor and Osean President Harling signed the 3rd Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. Under the terms of START-3, both nations would dispose a number of nuclear and strategic weapons, which included Yuktobania's advanced submarine Alicorn. Unsure of how to dispose of the submarine, the Usea-based General Resource Limited subsidiary GR Trading offered to purchase the vessel as scrap and appealed to the Central Usean government for permission to do so. In September, Yuktobania, Osea and Central Usea reached the consensus that Usean nations and corporations would be allowed to receive discarded military vessels.

    GAZE reporting on the Alicorn's purchase by the Kingdom of Erusea General Resource Limited then purchased the Alicorn and towed it to Usea. Rather than scrap it however, General Resource instead refurbished it. On December 20, 2012, after analysts speculated whether Leasath, Estovakia or Erusea would acquire the submarine from GR Trading, GAZE reported that the Kingdom of Erusea ultimately purchased the Yuktobanian submarine.

    On April 21, 2015, one of Yuktobania's spy satellites spotted the P-1112 Aigaion while it was flying over Estovakia. The satellite continued to track the Aigaion for four days before losing sight of it as it flew off the northeastern coast of the country near Estovakia's offshore oil facilities. During the Emmeria-Estovakia War, Yuktobania revealed that its spy satellite had previously spotted the Aigaion. FRONT LINE later noted Yuktobania's announcement when discussing the strategic potential of Estovakia's Aerial Fleet in a publication released on February 26, 2016.

    In June 2019, the Prime Minister of Yuktobania commented on the ongoing Lighthouse War, stating that "Erusea had reasons to rationalize war." In August, the Erusean military formally commissioned the Yuktobanian-built submarine Alicorn into active service. On September 14, Osean forces sunk the Alicorn after its captain went rogue and attempted to fire nuclear warheads at Oured. In December, following the end of the conflict, Yuktobania provided humanitarian aid for refugees living at the base of the International Space Elevator.

    On June 30, 2020, Yuktobania attended a ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the end of the Belkan War after being invited by the Osean government. Yuktobanian officers attended Memorial Day and the Yuktobanian Air Force sent five Su-57s to be showcased at Redmill Air Force Base alongside the air units of other foreign nations.

    Geography: Yuktobania encompasses a majority of the Verusan continent's landmass and is the largest country (area-wise) on Strangereal's Earth. Yuktobania's geography and climate vary greatly across its vast territory. Humid, tropical forests lie along the equatorial and southern regions; snowy steppes and highlands encompass the northern latitudes; and the vast Jilachi Desert blankets Yuktobania's geographic heart. Rugged, mountainous terrain can be found throughout the nation.

    Yuktobania is separated from the Anean nations by the Fuscum Sea and has coastlines along three other major bodies of water—the Ceres, Pacific, and Eusian Oceans. Yuktobania shares land borders with Kaluga and Verusa to the south; other unknown nations border Yuktobania to the south and southwest. Its capital, Cinigrad, is located within the nation's northern highlands.

    Politics: Government: As its official name implies, the Union of Yuktobanian Republics is a political and economic union of independent republics; one such member state is the Republic of Romny. The national government is headed by the Prime Minister, which could imply the existence of some representative legislative body. It is unknown if the prime ministry is term-limited.

    Military: Yuktobania supports one of the largest and most well-equipped military forces in the world, rivaled by only the Osean Defense Forces and the Emmerian military.     Emmeria is a large, wealthy nation that possesses great economic influence and is home to a thriving population of approximately 110 million people. Emmeria's industrial production is a key factor in its economy which allows its citizens, particularly those in the capital city, Gracemeria, to enjoy prosperous and peaceful everyday lives.

    History: Unification (1400s): Prior to its unification, Emmeria was realm comprised of multiple vassal states which often fought amongst themselves. In the 15th century, the Gracemeria region was home to extremely fertile soil and was a key transport hub. Consequently, conflicts among Emmerian lords vying for the city's control often occured. The continuous infighting degraded the ruling royal family's power, leaving the realm vulnerable to foreign invasions. With foreign countries also seeking to annex Gracemeria, the Emmerian realm as a whole faced a domestic crisis.

    Amidst the turmoil, King Aurelius II rose to power and brought the various Emmerian lords and vassals under his rule, unifying Emmeria against the foreign invaders, who were soon after driven out. Historians cite this event as the establishment of the modern Republic of Emmeria. Alongside its transition from a series of states in a feudal system to a republic, the capital of the nation was moved to Gracemeria.

    Ulysses Impact Event (1998—1999) Ulysses 1994XF04: On July 29, 1998, the International Astronomical Union (IAU)'s official monthly damage estimate was revised and detailed the possibility of the Ulysses 1994XF04 asteroid impacting Anea. Widespread panic ensued across the nation, with protesters criticising the IUN and FCU for their lack of crisis management, prompting Emmeria to begin expanding its impact shelter construction efforts on September 20, starting with the construction of shelters beneath Gracemeria Castle.

    Throughout the following months, Lord Alberto Lawrence used his influence to convince other Emmerian lords and the royal families of neighbouring nations to begin constructing shelters beneath their castles as well. Lord Lawrence gained the cooperation of multiple nations, especially countries already working with the Emmerian royal family. The Emmerian government devised a comprehensive relief and evacuation plan, deploying the Republic of Emmeria Air Force and Navy to assist international humanitarian aid organizations transporting Ulysses refugees.

    In 1999, preparations for the Ulysses Impact Event were in full swing, all across the nation, numerous aircraft and naval vessels were mobilized to transport refugees to underground shelters being built in Gracemeria. By January 1999, Gracemeria had received the second greatest quantity of Anean and Usean refugees after the Osean capital of Oured.

Around this time, the Emmerian Ministry of Science and Technology began showing concern regarding the Chandelier's potential for war, prompting multiple nations to prohibit any further development of the railgun system.

    On March 20, 2002, Emmeria, the Osean Federation, and multiple other nations, imposed export controls on strategic resources and sanctions on Estovakia, citing internal corruption. This made it difficult for Estovakia to engage in technology transfer throughout the following years.

    In 2004, the Republic of Anea, a political entity aiming to unify all of the Anean countries into a single nation, was founded.[8] The Preparatory Agency for the Republic of Anea would be founded to carry out the initiative on February 1. That same year, the Preparatory Agency declared the Emmerian city of Mante as the capital of the Republic of Anea.

    In June 2007, the Estovakian Civil War broke out when political instability caused by the Ulysses Impact Event reached a boiling point. Emmeria, still wishing to help Estovakia recover, negotiated with the Lyes United Front (LUF), one of the factions vying for control in the civil war. They came to an agreement and Emmeria began sending aid to the LUF, believing it would help end the civil war.

    The G7 Summit aboard the Arkbird: In August 2008, representatives for the Republic of Anea attended the G7 Summit aboard the Arkbird, during which agreements were made regarding refugees from both Ulysses and the resulting Continental War in Usea, and both the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and Second Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty were signed. As the largest country in the Republic of Anea, it can be inferred that representatives of the Emmerian Republic attended the event.

    On October 23, 2008, plans for the Republic of Anea were put on hold due to the civil unrest in Estovakia. Later on, Emmeria discovered that the LUF was using the aid to fuel its war machine rather than to rebuilt Estovakia. This caused Emmeria to discontinue its support for the LUF on February 19, 2010, severely weakening the faction.

    Return of Razgriz: Likely without Emmeria's knowledge, Yuktobania stationed the Hrimfaxi in the Razgriz Straits during the Circum-Pacific War. From within Emmerian borders, the Hrimfaxi fired long-range burst missiles at the invading Osean Army, who were advancing towards Cinigrad. In response, the Osean Air Defense Force deployed Wardog Squadron to the straits. On November 14, 2010, Wardog ambushed the Hrimfaxi while it was resupplying in Emmerian waters and sunk it, earning the squadron the nickname, the "Demons of Razgriz".

    By 2013, the Republic of Anea was dissolved and the Anean nations returned to being separate. In the same year, Emmeria's census took place; its population stood at around 110 million.

    On October 29, 2013, the Estovakian Civil War ended when the Eastern Faction defeated the LUF near the Emmerian border and unified the country. The Eastern Faction established a military regime under the "Generals" within Estovakia. Estovakian Foreign Minister Isaac Arensky appealed to foreign governments to help Estovakia rebuild, prompting Emmeria to invite him to Gracemeria to discuss restarting the previous aid program. However, he was attacked while traveling to Zaurek International Airport and later succumbed to his injuries. On February 3, 2014, Estovakian authorities asserted that LUF loyalists were responsible.

    By 2014, analysis by the Amherst Research Institute, a leading Emmerian think tank, estimated that without international support, it would take over 30 years for Estovakia's economy to recover to its level during the 1990s. Hence, Emmeria went forward with its plan to restart its reconstruction efforts in Estovakia. In February, a storage facility in the Estovakian city of Vistoc being guarded by Emmerian Reconstruction Assistance Force units was attacked by former LUF members, resulting in the loss of relief supplies meant for 50,000 Estovakians. The Emmerian Army deployed reinforcements and news of the attack quickly spread throughout Emmeria.

    In response to the attack, the Conference on Reconstruction Assistance to Estovakia was held. Emmerian Ambassador to Estovakia Belle announced that the incident would not impede the scheduled aid program. Following the announcement, Estovakian Foreign Minister Antonina Koznick questioned Emmeria's previous support of the LUF, blaming them for the civil war. Ambassador Belle explained the LUF's misuse of the aid before stating that Emmeria is still willing to help, but claimed that Estovakia's frustrations were misplaced.[8]

    On February 5, 2014, a publication by The Emmerian Chronicle noted that such a statement made by Estovakian cabinet member Koznick may put relations between the two nations in jeopardy and speculated that Estovakian Prime Minister Jacob Šuker may have been involved in Foreign Minister Arensky's death.

    Emmeria-Estovakia War (2015—2016) Initial battles: On August 30, 2015, Estovakia launched a surprise attack on Gracemeria, using the P-1112 Aigaion's overwhelming firepower. Following the loss of their capital, Emmeria carried out multiple recapture operations to no avail due to combined efforts of the elite Strigon Team, Aigaion and South Sea Fleet. Estovakia saw continual victories, capturing Mante, Fensalir, San Loma, Crnero and Ortara, ultimately driving a large portion of Emmerian forces off of the mainland. Other forces remaining on Anea regrouped at Silvat Town in Rawllins Plain and held control of the city.

    Counteroffensive: In late 2015, the Emmerian military began securing minor victories on Khesed Island, successfully defending Vitoze from an air raid and then liberating Sipli Field from Estovakian control. In late December, the Emmerians recaptured Bartolomeo Fortress on Mount Marcello and drove the Estovakian military off of the island. With Khesed once again under Emmerian control, the Emmerian military begun devising plans for the recapture of lost territory.

    In January 2016, Emmerian forces carried out an amphibious assault at Rargom Beach, defeating a large Estovakian naval and ground force and securing a foothold on Anea. Following the battle, many Emmerian citizens celebrated their military's return to the mainland.[26] After successfully establishing a bridgehead, Emmerian forces rescued their pinned down allies in Silvat Town and regained control over Rawllins Plain. Now with a substantially larger force, they headed inland.

    As the Emmerians traversed the Selumna Peaks, Estovakia once again utilized its P-1112 Aigaion to slow their advance, forcing the Emmerian forces to temporarily withdraw while Garuda Team covered their retreat. As a result of the Nimbus attack at Selumna, the Department of National Safety drew up a plan to destroy the Aigaion, dispatching multiple agents to acquire intelligence on the heavy command cruiser.

    In February 2016, Emmerian forces recaptured Cavallia Air Force Base and liberated San Loma. Using Cavallia as a launching point, the Emmerian Air Force ambushed the Aerial Fleet over the Fuscum Sea while its radar was disabled, ending the Nimbus missile threat and throwing Estovakia on the backfoot. Following the loss of the Aerial Fleet, the Strigon Team were relocated to Gracemeria Air Force Base.

    On March 6, the Emmerians retook the "impregnable" Ragno Fortress from the Estovakians with the aid of Emmerian Special Forces. Later that month, they engaged a large Estovakian force gathering in the Moloch Desert. Despite winning the battle, intelligence revealing Estovakia's scorched-earth policy for Gracemeria resulted in the Emmerian military being ordered to retreat. Although being ordered to retreat, Garuda Team engaged and shot down Strigon Team, resulting in the Emmerian aces being grounded.

    The following day, Emmerian intelligence located Estovakia's WMD catalyst at Fort Norton and determined that only Garuda Team was capable of destroying it. With the aid of Emmerian reinforcements, the entire Estovakian formation was shot down.

    Final battles: The Chandelier firing Stauros shells at Gracemeria from the Razgriz Straits On March 31, Emmerian forces launched Operation Free Gracemeria and successfully reclaimed their capital city, forcing Estovakian leaders to negotiate a ceasefire and return all captured territory. That evening, Estovakian officers opposing the ceasefire agreement utilized the Chandelier to launch a retaliatory strike against Gracemeria. Ultimately, the Emmerian Air Force was able to prevent the city's destruction. The following day, the Republic of Emmeria Air Force flew to the Razgriz Straits and destroyed the Chandelier near Sonne Island, killing General Gustav Dvornik in the process.

    In late May, a ceasefire agreement was signed between Emmerian leaders and Estovakia's new government. The agreement ended the Emmeria-Estovakia War and re-established peaceful relations between the two nations.

    Postwar (2016—): By late May 2016, reconstruction was underway in various areas across Emmeria, including in the capital city, Gracemeria, where the King's Bridge was fully repaired.

    By 2019, the Emmerian airline corporation, Emmeria Airways, began offering flights throughout the Usean continent. During the Lighthouse War, multiple Emmeria Airways A340s were parked at Selatapura's airport.

    Emmerian aircraft at Redmill Air Force Base showcased alongside other nations' aircraft On June 30, 2020, Emmeria attended a ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the end of the Belkan War after being invited by the Osean Federation.     Culture: Emmerian culture is reminiscent of those found in Europe. It features historical structures such as Gracemeria Castle which itself is very similar to those found in many European countries.

    Various names of locations are European sounding: Gracemeria, Sipli, Silvat, and Emmeria itself sound Eastern European, while Vitoze, Campagna, San Loma, Marcello, and Bartolomeo sound Italian. There are also miscellaneous names such as Ragno and Grageo. The people of Emmeria are mainly Caucasian and speak with American and Canadian accents.

    Geography: Emmeria is the largest nation on the Anean continent and therefore encompasses the majority of its land. Emmeria is home to a multitude of biomes, ranging from cold snowy mountainous regions to expansive desert regions. Emmeria also controls a number of islands and bodies of water, most notably, Khesed Island, the Glava Islands[40] and the western Razgriz Straits.

    There is also a royal family present within the nation, however, their influence is less prominent.

    Military: Emmeria is a leading military power that supports a large military for defensive purposes. The Emmerian military is headed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff and is considered to be one of the most capable forces in the world. It is comprised of the Republic of Emmeria Air Force, the Emmerian Army, the Emmerian Navy, the Emmerian Special Forces and a marine corps. In 2014, while aiding in Estovakia's reconstruction, the Emmerian military was known to also have a reconstruction assistance force.

    Economy: Emmeria is a wealthy country and its economic clout is evident in how quickly they recovered following the Ulysses Impact Event and in aiding Estovakia recover despite the recent disaster.

    A key factor in Emmeria's economic prosperity is its many industries: large-scale oil pipelines in the Kijera Oil Fields, prosperous textile manufacturing in Ortara, and large industrial zones in Tarvo. Many ports also dot the coastline of the nation, indicating that trade is very prominent.

    Estovakia officially the Federal Republic of Estovakia, is a large country located in eastern Anea. By 2014, it had a population of approximately 63.5 million people.

    Estovakia was a nation engulfed in economic strife following the Ulysses Impact Event in 1999. The event caused significant damage to its economy and infrastructure, sparked the Estovakian Civil War, and ultimately dissolved any future plans for the Republic of Anea, an initiative that aimed to unite all the Anean countries into a single nation.

    It was governed by the Estovakian Military Regime led by "The Generals" after the civil war ended in October 2013. After a period of escalation, Estovakia declared war on Emmeria in August 2015, sparking the Emmeria-Estovakia War. Civilian displeasure with the war led to a coup d'etat in the nation's capital that overthrew the military regime. Following the war's conclusion in May 2016, Estovakia's leaders restored peaceful relations with Emmeria. However, Estovakia was once again left in a state of disrepair.

    Prior to the Emmeria-Estovakia War, the Estovakian military was relatively large and well-equipped and utilized advanced aircraft such as the P-1112 Aigaion and CFA-44 Nosferatu.

    In June 2005, the acting Estovakian government commissioned Albastru-Electrice and multiple other cutting-edge weapons manufacturing firms within the country to begin developing an advanced stealth aircraft that would eventually become the CFA-44 Nosferatu.

    On April 3, 2007, Estovakia's former capital was taken over by the Lyes Faction, making them the nation's de facto government. By June, the Lyes Faction was renamed the Lyes United Front (LUF). Still wishing to aid Estovakia to rebuilt after the Ulysses Impact Event, the Republic of Emmeria made an arrangement with the new government to provide them aid.

    Estovakian Civil War (2007–2013): Early battles: On June 30, 2007, the Lyes United Front used the Emmerian aid to suppress cities that opposed their rule. One of these cities was Gledina. The LUF blockaded supply routes to the city, an action that caused a humanitarian crisis causing the deaths of over 200,000 people.

    Seeing this atrocity, the Eastern Faction declared war on the LUF, sparking he Estovakian Civil War. Many other factions including the Island Coalition, Independent Tariff Federation, and Northern Highlands Faction, soon after declared war on one another. Shortly after the outbreak of war, the Emmerian news company 24 reported on the ongoing conflict.

    On July 15, 2008, the Eastern Faction captures and restores the oil platforms in the northeast of the country that was previously under the control of the Oil Resource Development Corporation.

    On October 23, the Republic of Anea Initiative was put on hold due to the civil war.

    At an unspecified point during the war, the Lyes United Front assimilated the Independent Tariff Federation, gaining access to its territory and military strength.

    Sometime during the war, the Lyes United Front sent in Rousalka Team to capture of an Island Coalition base. An Island Coalition pilot named Ozren Milos took part in defending the base, ultimately repelling the LUF attack. The base was a key factor in the eventual Eastern Faction victory.

    On February 19, 2010, Emmeria halted its aid program, due to it had being revealed that the LUF was utilizing the resources to further its war machine instead of aiding Estovakia's recovery. This greatly affected the LUF's capability as a military force and slowed their advance.

    Later on, the Eastern Faction carried out a city-wide bombing of a Lyes United Front controlled city in order to destroy a tank battalion that was stationed there. The city was left in shambles.

When Yuktobania sold its advanced submarine Alicorn, FRONT LINE military analysts believed that Estovakia would be more likely to purchase it than Erusea or Leasath due to the nation being surrounded by ocean and Osea's increased restriction of Belkan weapons sales. Throughout the following week, the Lyes United Front lost 80% of its territory.

    On October 29, the Lyes United Front, still engaging the Eastern Faction while on the retreat, suffered a major defeat near the border with Emmeria, due to the Aigaion and its Nimbus missiles. During this decisive battle, General Lyes was killed, and the Estovakian Civil War was brought to an end.

    Rising tensions (2013–2015): An Emmeria Daily News article reporting on the new Estovakian government Following the civil war's end, the Eastern Faction established a new government and consolidated power within Estovakia. Additionally, the Eastern Faction military became the national Estovakian military.

    The Estovakian flag flying: The postwar era was marked by separatist movements and guerrilla attacks from LUF remnants against the new government. On November 25, 2013, while traveling to Zaurek International Airport for a summit in Gracemeria regarding Estovakian reconstruction, Foreign Minister Isaac Arensky was attacked by armed secessionist forces. Arensky later died on December 2, but this was covered up by the Estovakian government. A week later, fifteen of the attackers were apprehended by Estovakian authorities.

    On February 3, 2014, Estovakian authorities made the death of Foreign Minister Aresnky public, asserting that former officers of the Lyes United Front were responsible for the attack. Emmerian media later speculated that Estovakian cabinet members were behind the attack as Arensky was allegedly on poor terms with Prime Minister Jacob Šuker. The same day, Antonina Koznick, former captain of the Eastern Faction Navy, was appointed as the new Foreign Minister.

    On February 4, Emmerian soldiers on humanitarian missions were attacked by former LUF members, leading to the death of 28 soldiers and aid workers in the city of Vistoc. Following the attack, the Conference on Reconstruction Assistance to Estovakia was held as the Emmerian Army deployed reinforcements. At the conference, Emmerian Ambassador Belle stated that the Vistoc incident would not impede the scheduled aid program. Foreign Minister Koznick responded by questioning Emmeria's previous support of the LUF during the Estovakian Civil War; Belle explained that the LUF misused the previous aid program and that Emmeria is still willing to help, remarking that Estovakia's frustrations were misplaced.     By 2015, Estovakia had started purchasing weaponry from General Resource Limited and North Osea Gründer Industries. On April 21, 2015, a Yuktobanian spy satellite spotted and tracked the P-1112 Aigaion as it was flying over Estovakia. The satellite tracked the Aigaion for four days before losing a visual as the aircraft flew off the coast of the nation.[9]

    Emmeria-Estovakia War (2015–2016) Initial attacks: Strigon Team attacking Gracemeria following the Nimbus impacts On August 30, 2015, Estovakia launched a surprise attack on the Emmerian capital of Gracemeria. Although initially losing the battle, the P-1112 Aigaion and Strigon Team quickly turned the tide, forcing the Emmerian military to retreat west across Anea. Following the capture of Gracemeria, the Emmerian military attempted to recapture their capital four times. However, Estovakia managed to defend Gracemeria with Strigon, the Aigaion and South Sea Fleet. Estovakia saw continual early victories, successfully conquering Mante, San Loma and a number of other cities, before ultimately driving Emmerian forces to Khesed Island.

    As the Emmerians retreated to Khesed Island, Estovakia pursued them and captured Bartolomeo Fortress and set up a frontline at Sipli Field. Wishing to end the war quickly, Estovakia launched an air raid at the Emmerian forces stationed at Vitoze. However, Estovakia underestimated the tenacity of the Emmerian resistance, resulting in the operation's failure. Emmeria began its counterattack in late 2015, and Estovakia was unable to keep them from recapturing Khesed.

    On the defense: In January 2016, the Emmerian military landed at Rargom Beach, defeated the defending Estovakian force and secured a foothold on Anea. In the meantime, Estovakia began its siege on Emmerian forces stationed at Silvat Town. The siege was later broken by the Emmerian forces from Khesed rescuing their allies. Estovakia was forced to retreat eastward. As the Emmerians continued advancing, Estovakia deployed its P-1112 Aigaion to slow their advance through the Selumna Peaks. In February, Emmerian forces recaptured San Loma and ambushed the Aerial Fleet, putting Estovakia at a disadvantage.

    Over the next few months, Estovakia saw continual defeats as the Emmerians pushed ever closer to Gracemeria. In response, Estovakian officials began planning a scorched earth for the Emmerian capital. However, this plan was thwarted by Garuda Team when they destroyed the WMD catalysts. Estovakia, after losing their main force in the Moloch Desert, began fortifying Gracemeria in preparation for the battle. On March 31, Emmerian forces arrived at Gracemeria. Despite fierce resistance, Estovakia lost control of the city. Following the battle, Estovakian leaders began arranging for a ceasefire with Emmerian officials.

    Unsanctioned retaliation: Emmerian and remnant Estovakian forces clash around the Chandelier On the evening following the battle, high-ranking Estovakian officers opposing the treaty commandeered the Chandelier and used it to launch a retaliatory strike against Gracemeria. The following day, the officers continued the retaliation plan, and Emmeria deployed Republic of Emmeria Air Force squadrons to the Razgriz Straits. In the ensuing battle, the remnant Estovakian forces attempted to defend the Chandelier near Sonne Island. Ultimately, they could not stop Talisman from destroying the railgun and killing General Gustav Dvornik. Around this time, a coup d'etat overthrew the Estovakian Military Regime in the Estovakian capital.

    In May 2016, the new Estovakian government signed a ceasefire treaty with the Emmerian government, officially ending the Emmeria-Estovakia War and re-establishing peaceful relations between the two nations. However, as a result of the war, Estovakia was once again left in a ruined state.

    Postwar (2016–) Following the end of the Emmeria-Estovakia War, Albastru-Electrice and other Estovakian firms continued producing limited quantities of CFA-44 Nosferatus; the Estovakian Forces also continued to field the aircraft.

    On June 30, 2020, Estovakia, alongside Emmeria and other foreign nations, attended a ceremony commemorating 25 years since the end of the Belkan War after being invited by the Osean Federation. Estovakian officers attended Osea's Memorial Day and the Estovakian Air Force sent five MiG-29A Fulcrums, a replica of Ilya Pasternak's CFA-44 Nosferatu, and four replica Strigon Team Su-33 Flanker-Ds, to be showcased alongside the aircraft of other participating nations at Redmill Air Force Base.

    Geography: Half of Estovakia's territory is comprised of expansive mountain ranges. Estovakia also controls a number of islands to the north and east of the mainland, most notably, Sonne Island. Due to their proximity to the pole, the climate is almost always cold.

    The majority of Estovakia is surrounded by water, bordered by the Fuscum Sea to the south, the Arctic Ocean to the north, and the Ceres Ocean to the east.

    Politics: Government: From July 1999 to October 2013, Estovakia was under the control of regional military factions vying for power. By April 2007, the Lyes Faction secured Estovakia's former capital region and became the nation's de facto government. The Lyes government would later be described as a military dictatorship.[2] In the region governed by the Eastern Faction, free speech was practically non-existant and media criticising or mocking the faction was suppressed.[8]

    In October 2013, the Eastern Faction won the Estovakian Civil War and a new Estovakian government was established under the rule of the "Generals". Under the control of the Generals, the Estovakian government also featured a cabinet headed by a prime minister. Although the nation was referred to as the "Federal Republic of Estovakia", their government resembles a stratocracy.

    In 2016, the E.E. War led to the Estovakian military regime being overthrown and yet another new government being established.

    Military: After the Ulysses 1994XF04 planetfall, the power of Estovakia's central government began to diminish to the point where the nation was under the control of regional military factions. During the Estovakian Civil War period, all five of the factions were known to absorb one another. The Eastern Faction and Lyes United Front were the two last factions and were known to support an army, navy and air force.

    Prior to the E.E. War, Estovakia supported a large, well-equipped military force despite its lack of economic prowess. Estovakia's armed forces are comprised of the Estovakian Navy, the Estovakian Army and the Estovakian Air Force. Following the war's conclusion, the Estovakian military was devastated but are known to still operate an air defense force.

    Economy: In the 1990s, Estovakia's domestic economy was thriving, however, the Ulysses Impact Event left the nation in a state of disrepair. It was estimated that it would take decades for the country to reach the level of economic activity it once had.

    By late 2016, following the E.E. War, Estovakia's economy was once again left in ruin.

    Sapin, officially the The Kingdom of Sapin, is a country located in eastern Osea. Sapin is bordered by Osea to the west, Ustio to the north, and Ratio to the east. During the Belkan War in 1995, Sapin joined the Allied Forces coalition to help contain Belka's invasion of neighboring countries, which included Sapin.

    History: Expansion (1991): In mid-December 1991, Sapin acquired a portion of Belka's southernmost territories east of the Great Lakes, which extended the kingdom further north. The recently seceded Republic of Ustio became Sapin's new neighbor to the north.

    Belkan War (1995): OBC graphic showing the extent of the Belkan invasion into north Sapin (March 1995) On March 25, 1995, Sapin's northwestern territories were invaded and occupied by the Belkan Army. Although Sapin's military was caught off guard and outmatched by Belka's superior military power, the Belkans were unable to capture Sapin's capital, Gran Rugido. The kingdom ultimately allied itself with Osea, Ustio, and Yuktobania to form the Allied Forces and repulse the Belkan onslaught.

    By May 13, Sapin and the Allied Forces had expelled the Belkans from their lands and began an offensive into Belka's territory. Following the tragic events of June 6, Sapin's forces agreed to an immediate ceasefire. On June 20, delegates from Sapin were present at the signing of the Lumen peace accords, which officially ended the war.

    During the treaty signing, the Sapin Air Force's Espada Team and Escudo Squadron patrolled the airspace above the ceremony.[citation needed] Two additional squadrons (Lanza and Armadura) were scheduled to relieve Espada and Escudo, but were destroyed while attempting to take off from a sabotaged runway, leaving Espada and Escudo to guard the peace ceremony and remain on stand-by alert should anything happen near Gran Rugido.[citation needed]

    A World With No Boundaries uprising: Operation Valkyrie: In the months following the war's conclusion, various military officers and personnel from Sapin, Osea, Yuktobania, and Belka formed the rebel organization A World With No Boundaries. One such example was Espada Team, which defected from the Sapin Air Force and joined the coup forces sometime prior to December 25. When the terrorist group later bombed Lumen and Valais Air Base, the Sapinish pilots were present to fly escort for the experimental XB-0 Hresvelgr gunship.

    Geography: Sapin's location to the northeast of Oured Bay provides it with a Mediterranean climate and access to maritime shipping routes into the Spring Sea. Sapin also maintains joint control over the Futuro Canal, which is located along Sapin's northwest border with Osea. Information regarding the nation's topography is scarce; however, it is known that the landscape becomes more mountainous in the north towards the Osea-Ustio border.

    Politics: Government: The Kingdom of Sapin is a monarchy ruled by either a king or queen who inherits the Sapinish throne through the right of primogeniture. Additional details regarding the kingdom's political structure remain unknown. However, Sapin is known to have been a neutral country prior to the Belkan War's outbreak in 1995. Sapin in presumed to have maintained amiable relations with its former allies, Osea and Ustio, in the years after the war.

    Military: The only confirmed branch of the Sapinish armed forces is the Sapin Air Force, which contributed to the Allies' aerial forces during the war. It is likely, although unconfirmed, that Sapin also maintains a standing army (which could explain the Belkan Army's failure to advance on the Sapinish capital, Gran Rugido) and naval forces to defend the country as well.

    Officially the Kingdom of Erusea, is a large nation located on the westernmost part of the Usean continent. It has a population of around 80 million. Its capital, Farbanti, is located on the coast of Usea's westernmost peninsula near the Spring Sea.

    Formerly the Federal Republic of Erusea or Erusean Republic, the nation was known for its industrialism, militarism, and advancements in engineering and aeronautic technologies. It was severely affected by the impact of Ulysses 1994XF04 in 1999. By mid-2003, tensions between Erusea and the other Usean nations escalated into open war, in which Erusea was soundly defeated.

    By 2011, Erusea was restored into a kingdom, Princess Rosa Cossette D'Elise and her family, despite being viewed as commoners, ascended to the throne by blood relation to the former monarchy.

    The construction of the International Space Elevator at Selatapura and increasing IUN presence on Usea caused tensions to rise with the Osean Federation. This culminated in the Lighthouse War, which Erusea ultimately lost.

    History: Pre-Ulysses (–1997): Erusea was initially a kingdom ruled by relatives of the D'Elise family. The country has a history of expansionism and frequently annexed several of its smaller neighbors, one of them being the Grand Duchy of Shilage. Despite its annexation, Erusea allowed the Shilage royalty to rule. Eventually, the Erusean royal family was overthrown, and became a federal republic.

    Despite the regime change, Erusea did not allow its annexed territories to regain independence and maintained its expansionist policy, later annexing the Republic of Voslage. Sometime in the early 1990s, the military was deployed along the Amber-Ugellas border, which prompted the Federation of Central Usea (FCU) and the IUN to deploy their own forces to the border in response. The standoff continued for a long time until April 29, 1996, when the FCU formally announced the existence of the Ulysses 1994XF04 asteroid, simultaneously pulling out its forces from the Amber-Ugellas border.

    Usean coup d'état (1997-1998): Despite maintaining hostile relations with its Usean neighbors, Erusea became a member of the Usean Allied Forces, a military alliance aimed to deter Osean and Yuktobanian expansionism from the continent. However, in 1997, a group of southern Usean nations announced their intention to join the Osean Federation. Many northern nations, including Erusea, protested the act. Osea extended its support and prepared to sign the Spring Sea Treaty with the southern nations. On May 30, the day the treaty was to be signed, conservative extremists—including some members of Erusea's military, such as the Albireo Squadron—launched a coup d'état and overwhelmed the Usean Allied Forces across the continent.

    Within a year, the rebels had pushed the Allied Forces to the west and controlled most of Erusea's territory, as well as that of every other country. The rebels performed numerous operations within Erusean territory, including taking over The Keep and converting it into a frontline supply base. In March 1998, the Usean Allied Forces hired Scarface Squadron to combat the rebels. Over the next three months, Scarface pushed the frontlines to the center of the Usean continent, eventually restoring Erusea's sovereignty.

    Post-Ulysses (1998–2003): Ulysses meteorites began to impact the planet on July 8, 1999, and continued to do so for the next two weeks, killing over 500,000 Useans and crippling the continent's infrastructure. Despite Stonehenge's attempts to defend the continent, at least ten meteorites made impact within Erusea's borders. Two of them made particularly significant craters: Goldberg Crater in the Whiskey Corridor and Ryker Crater in Farbanti, the latter of which flooded the city's western municipal district. Despite the damage, Erusea refused to move its government headquarters or change Farbanti's status as the country's capital.

    In the aftermath of the Ulysses disaster, millions of civilians were displaced from their residences and became refugees. Many Usean countries expected Erusea, a large country, to admit the most refugees. In April 2000, after accepting over 200,000 refugees, Erusea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would impose restrictions on visa applications, preventing more refugees from entering the country. Despite Erusea's insistence that they could not support any more refugees, other Usean countries publicly condemned the move, boycotting Erusea's products. Many refugees suffered disease and crime at mismanaged refugee camps along Erusea's borders.

    The rising tensions from the refugee crisis culminated in Erusea's sudden invasion of San Salvacion and capture of Stonehenge in the summer of 2003. The pilots and security personnel assigned to defend Stonehenge went missing, but Erusea claimed that Stonehenge's management staff was under their protection. The member nations in the Central Usea Treaty Organization heavily condemned Erusea's act, and FCU President Robert Sinclair created the Independent State Allied Forces in the event of war. President Sinclair deployed FCU troops to the outskirts of San Salvacion and ordered Erusea to withdraw within a month.

    Continental War (2003–2005): On September 14, 2003, the deadline that FCU President Sinclair gave Erusea to withdraw, the ISAF attempted to destroy Stonehenge. However, Erusea utilized Stonehenge to great effect in destroying ISAF's aircraft, forcing ISAF to retreat to Los Canas. The ISAF attempted another strike operation to destroy Stonehenge, but Erusea deployed the elite Yellow Squadron, which shot down the entire ISAF strike team. Erusea continued to win numerous victories over ISAF forces, pushing them off the continent onto North Point. Around this time, Erusea was involved in trade deals with Yuktobania and the Republic of Anea, contributing to Erusea's military power.

    In the autumn of 2004, ISAF forces began to win multiple small victories over Erusean forces. Erusea initiated preparations to deploy the Aegir Fleet to North Point to end the war, but ISAF forces immobilized and destroyed the fleet in November 2004, providing an opening for ISAF to launch counteroffensive operations.

    Erusea began utilizing Stonehenge and Yellow Squadron against the ISAF forces as they penetrated the mainland and liberated Los Canas. In April 2004, the ISAF's Mobius 1 destroyed Stonehenge, eliminating Erusea's air superiority over the Usean continent.[25] Over the next few months, the ISAF launched a massive counteroffensive and pushed the Erusean forces back to its own territory.

    Following the liberation of San Salvacion, ISAF chased Erusea's retreating forces, defeating them in the Whiskey Corridor and making a push for Farbanti. On September 19, Mobius 1 assisted ISAF's ground forces in capturing Erusea's GHQ, and shot down the entire Yellow Squadron. Erusea's Supreme Commander was killed in the battle, and Erusea surrendered to ISAF that day. A rebellious group of Erusean officers captured and activated the Megalith superweapon facility in retaliation, but Mobius 1 and other ISAF forces destroyed the facility. Similar remnant Erusean forces continued fighting for at least a month.

    Interwar period (2005–2019): Following their defeat, Erusea's military was reorganized so that it would only support the minimum capabilities required for self-defense. To compensate, Erusea acquired Belkan UCAVs from North Osea Gründer Industries and, by 2006, was involved in arms trading with at least one member nation of the proposed Republic of Anea Initiative. Throughout the postwar period, Erusea continued to cede territory to other countries. Among these were the Gunther region, which became an IUN trust territory and the Erusean city of Selatapura, which became an independent nation.

    In 2006, while the ISAF attempted to implement a new autonomous government within Erusea, a rebellious group calling itself Free Erusea captured ISAF facilities and began terrorist operations across the Usean continent, as far east as Newfield Island. On September 24, 2006, Mobius 1 was deployed to quell the rebellion. In less than three months, Mobius 1 defeated Free Erusea, allowing the ISAF to continue setting up Erusea's provisional government.

    On August 21, 2008, the G7 Summit took place aboard the Arkbird. Erusea's provisional government was in attendance on Osea's invitation, in hopes to solve the outstanding issues regarding Erusea's military and the Usean refugees.

    Erusea's interim government eventually restored the previously deposed monarchy to power by 2011. In the same year, the Osean Federation's Harling administration made the decision to build the International Space Elevator in the nearby city-state of Selatapura, a decision that was protested by the Erusean government due to the chosen location being former Erusean territory.

    After two Erusean kings passed away, by blood relation, Rosa Cossette D'Elise became the new Princess of Erusea when her father became the new King of Erusea. Following an audience with the King and other heads of state, Princess Cossette gave a speech to a crowd of 100,000 Erusean citizens. She became an outspoken representative for Erusea in her new role.

    On April 4, 2012, the military magazine FRONT LINE released a publication on the Yuktobanian submersible aircraft cruiser Alicorn, speculating that Erusea, Leasath and Estovakia were the candidates most likely to purchase the vessel. Despite its reorganisation, Erusea continued to rebuild its military further, ultimately purchasing the Alicorn from Yuktobania via GR Trading to bolster the Erusean Royal Navy.

    In January 2013, the first ISEV cable transportation rocket was launched from Comona as Osea continued to reassign more Defense Force units to Usea as IUN peacekeeping units. As construction continued throughout the following years, Erusea and its allies became increasingly frustrated with the environmental damage caused by the space elevator's construction and the aggressive actions of the IUN peacekeeping forces. Clashes between protestors and peacekeeping forces occurred as mass demonstrations erupted within Erusea, calling for ties with Osea to be severed. Within the military, a group of young nationalistic officers called for war and the expanded use of Belkan technology, and convinced the Erusean royal family that Osea's intent was to control the continent, especially through the space elevator.

    Lighthouse War (2019): Initial successes (May-July): On May 15, 2019, with the radicals' hold on power confirmed, Erusea launched successful surprise attacks on numerous Osean Maritime Defense Force bases deep in Osean territory using MQ-99 UCAVs hidden in Gründer shipping containers, including in the capital of Oured; Erusea declared war on Osea and quickly conquered large swathes of the continent, including Selatapura, and along with it, the space elevator and the Arsenal Birds protecting it.[40] The ability of the Erusean forces to cripple Osean naval power in precision strikes on densely populated urban areas without creating any civilian casualties turned global opinion in Erusea's favor, which was exacerbated by the OFS Kestrel II's botched attack on Farbanti, by contrast, damaging residential areas. Erusean manned bombers also proved their worth in attacks in IUN-PKF bases across the continent, though an attack on Fort Grays Island was successfully repelled by Osean Air Defense Force pilot Trigger, based on the island.

    Before and during the war, Mihaly A. Shilage, ace pilot and Shilage royalty prior to his country's annexation by Erusea prior to the war, took the opportunity to keep doing what he loved by flying combat missions and contributing his flight data to the Erusean Air and Space Administration's drone program, allowing improvements the UCAVs' performance in battle.

    By this time, Erusea was now appropriating the Arsenal Birds for forward roles, using them to help build a highly effective air defense network with, at its core, an auto-intercept system designed to ensure drones responded to incursions almost immediately. The network was successful at defeating an Osean counterattack, with one Arsenal Bird driving away OADF forces over the Chopinburg Rainforest while Erusean forces defending Farbanti repelled the Kestrel II's aircraft a second time, sinking the carrier. Besides UCAVs on an en masse basis, Erusea also exploited another, far more secretive piece of Belkan technology: IFF spoofing, which enabled Erusean forces to kill now-former president Harling during his abortive extraction from the space elevator and avenge his perceived mistreatment of Erusea.

    Reversal of fortunes (July-September): However, OADF penal units such as Spare Squadron were being sent to probe the air defense network for vulnerabilities, and the confusion in the OADF sowed by IFF spoofing failed to prevent them from identifying and creating weak spots.[46] The Osean Long Range Strategic Strike Group successfully exploited one such vulnerability to clear a path across northern Usea for a third offensive on Farbanti, destroying the ERN's Njord Fleet along with the Arsenal Bird Liberty and decimating Erusean power projection.[47] However, the LRSSG was sidetracked by the hunt for the ERN submarine Alicorn in September; Erusea disavowed Captain Matias Torres after he defected and attempted to pursue an independent nuclear attack on Oured, though he was prevented doing so and killed after Trigger sunk the Alicorn.[48] The submarine and her crew, after being raised from the ocean floor in 2018[49] 698 days after running aground underwater, had been recommissioned to compensate for the loss of the Njord Fleet.

    Civil war (September-November): While the third attack on Farbanti succeeded in capturing the city and killing the King, it did not end the war as projected, as concurrent mutual destruction of Osean and Erusean satellite networks by one another led to the collapse of both combatants' IFF systems and the disintegration of both sides' command structure.[50] With radicals now in control of the remnants of the government,[29] anti-Belkan and pro-truce conservative factions rebelled and briefly fought radical loyalists alongside Osean forces; during his extraction from Anchorhead, defecting conservative lieutenant general Édouard Labarthe revealed the full extent of the radicals' technological machinations to the LRSSG, and Erusean UCAVs began acting autonomously, out of the control of developer and EASA scientist Dr. Schroeder.

    However, Labarthe's death at the hands of Osean forces acting on false intelligence planted by the radicals led the conservatives to turn on Osea while still fighting the radicals, rendering the war tripartite. By now, both Erusean factions were attempting to kill Princess Cossette; conservative troops shot down her plane over Tyler Island and attempted to kill her when she survived the resulting crash, in retaliation for her apparent support of the radicals, and three days later, during the three-way battle for the island, she was nearly a casualty in a radical massacre of local civilians that was only averted when she successfully signaled for air support from Trigger, now a captain in the LRSSG.

    By now, Erusea's hold on territory annexed even prior to the outbreak of the war was collapsing, as evidenced by Voslage and Shilage regaining their independence. Upon being shot down by Trigger, Mihaly blamed himself for the war and expressed regret for "unleashing pure chaos" on the continent in the form of his contributions to the drone program just so that he could have an excuse to continue flying. A group of refugees from Tyler Island and former Spare Squadron personnel led by Cossette and Spare mechanic Avril Mead, proceeding to the space elevator's support facility-turned-drone factory, shut down production locally with the help of a repentant Schroeder and set out to attempt the destruction of the space elevator to stop it from powering other drone factories, though two final, advanced UCAVs were already slated for production. A mural led Cossette to finally realize that Harling had been genuine in his intention to better the lives of the Usean people, though she did not immediately voice this realization.

    Erusea's defeat was finalized when a coalition of Osean forces, Erusean conservatives, and separatists defeated radical EAF aircraft around the space elevator and brought down the remaining Arsenal Bird, Justice, allowing the space elevator to be retaken from its radical occupants. However, the last two drones were deployed to Selatapura and drove the coalition off.[55] Before they could execute the radicals' final scheme – the perpetuation of the war by using the space elevator to transmit Mihaly's, and potentially Trigger's, advanced flight data to drone factories worldwide – Trigger succeeded in destroying both of them, allowing for a conclusive end to the war and the establishment of a provisional Erusean government, led by Cossette, at the space elevator's base to restore order; in the end, the space elevator was never destroyed, preserving Harling's legacy.

    Postwar period (2019-present) Erusea formally concluded peace with Osea when it signed a mutual nonaggression treaty in North Point in January the following year. On June 30, it participated in an airshow commemorating the 25th anniversary of the end of the Belkan War.

    Geography: Outside of wartime holdings, Erusea possesses a large majority of Usea's northwestern territory. Most of Erusea's north and central areas are covered by the Lambert and Amber Mountains, respectively. Situated between the two mountain ranges is the Whiskey Corridor, a strip of desert land that used to have the Irsali River flowing through it. Goldberg Crater, the largest of the Ulysses craters, is located next to the dried-up river.

    Erusea's capital city, Farbanti, is partially constructed by man-made landfills. Its westernmost district was flooded by the Ulysses meteorite that created Ryker Crater. Erusea's territory also includes Cape Rainy to the north, the strategic port city Anchorhead to the south, and the Twinkle Islands south of Farbanti.

    The Gunther region belonged to Erusea but had to be relinquished as a trust territory to the IUN after the Continental War.

    Politics: Government: Erusea was first structured as a kingdom. The monarchy was later overthrown and became a federal republic by the 1990s. The republic was led by a military Supreme Commander, who held the most sway in government proceedings, but Erusea still maintained a parliament for legislative duties. The republic's political environment was described as fascistic by the Side Story Narrator and ISAF forces. These statements are supported by Erusea's expansionism and use of secret police forces in the countries it occupied during the Continental War, such as San Salvacion.

    By the 2010s, Erusea reformed back into a kingdom during its period of reconstruction. Princess Rosa Cossette D'Elise and her family, despite being viewed as commoners, ascended to the throne by blood relation to the former monarchy.

    Military: Erusea boasted a powerful military in the 1990s and early 2000s, described as equivalent to the military power of all of ISAF's member states combined. Military service is mandatory for its citizens. Its air force played host to many ace pilots, including Edgar Grint and Yellow 13. The Erusean navy was best represented by the Aegir Fleet, repeatedly described as the "invincible fleet" prior to its sinking. Erusea continued to maintain some naval power afterward, but its strength post-2005 is unknown. The Erusean military also appears to have a tactical espionage branch, whose operatives were responsible for disabling ISAF's early warning radar network during the Continental War and the elimination of an Osean survey team during the Lighthouse War.

    The height of Erusea's military power came with its capture of Stonehenge in 2003. While in control of the facility, Erusea shot down innumerable ISAF aircraft, preventing the ISAF from providing air support to its ground troops. Stonehenge's destruction proved to be a crippling blow to the Erusean military.

    Erusea's Air and Space Administration (EASA) is recognized as a major scientific element of Erusea's military. The EASA attempted to manufacture the X-02 Wyvern before the conclusion of the Continental War, but political disagreements and wartime supply exhaustion prevented its completion before the war's close.[60] In later years, the EASA would continue to be a major part of Erusean military development, performing research into UAV technology.

    During the 2019 conflict with Osea, Erusea captured the International Space Elevator, the Arsenal Birds and their MQ-101 UAVs, giving Erusea power across a large portion of the Usean continent. However, despite early gains in the war, Osean counterattacks would result in the loss of northern portions of the nation. Eventually, Osean forces would capture Farbanti, but the anti-satellite attacks conducted by both Osea and Erusea would cut off all communications between their forces. Without any support and blaming each other for the fall of Farbanti, the government collapsed, with pro-peace conservatives and pro-war radicals and various independence movements vying for control. Eventually, Osea retook the Space Elevator, but allowed Princess Cossette to form a provisional government based at the Elevator to help Usean refugees fleeing the continuing civil war.

    Description: The Aegir Fleet was the largest and most powerful fleet division in the Erusean Navy. It earned the nickname "Invincible Fleet" due to its massive firepower. The fleet's flagship was the battleship Tanager. The ISAF decimated the fleet on November 23, 2004 during the Continental War.

    History: In 1997, during the Usean coup d'état, the Herne engaged an enemy ship while in stormy weather. Apart from that, the fleet's deployment history before the Continental War is mostly unknown. By the time the war began, the fleet already gained its "invincible" reputation. After the ISAF's retreat to North Point, the Aegir Fleet made port in Comberth Harbor and saw less action in the war.

    Erusea attempted many times to destroy the ISAF at North Point and end the war. The final such attempt was a full deployment of the Aegir Fleet. If the Aegir Fleet had set sail, North Point would not be able to defend against it. In response, the ISAF began a multi-operation campaign to immobilize and destroy the Aegir Fleet.

    Operation Hunting Hawk: On November 7, 2004, the ISAF dispatched fighters to secure the airspace around Comberth and intercept Erusean transport planes that were attempting to resupply the Aegir Fleet. A small ISAF squadron made contact with a convoy of three transport planes supported by E-767s providing ECM coverage. The ISAF fighters shot down all the Erusean jammer aircraft and transport planes. The mission was not a decisive victory, but it managed to forestall the Aegir Fleet's resupply operations.

    Operation Early Bird On November 19, at 0550hrs, an ISAF fighter squadron was deployed to destroy a petrochemical complex northeast of Comberth that was the primary fuel source for the Aegir Fleet. The facility had stockpiled over five million barrels of crude oil by the time of the ISAF air raid. The operation was a major success for ISAF, which managed to deprive the Erusean war effort of one of its key oil refineries and left the Aegir Fleet stranded without fuel in Comberth Harbor.

    Together, the success of Operations Hunting Hawk and Early Bird gave ISAF the upper hand it needed if the threat of the "Invincible" Aegir Fleet was to be eliminated.

    Operation Rough Seas

    Beluga crewmen salute the sinking Tanager Main article: Operation Rough Seas On November 23, at 1200hrs, ISAF fighter squadrons entered Comberth Harbor airspace, successfully sank every Aegir vessel, and inflicted significant damage on various enemy facilities throughout the harbor area. The Erusean forces were caught flat-footed, with some of them believing the air raid was merely a drill. The Aegir Fleet suffered immense losses in terms of both vessels and personnel; many ships were sunk as they sat at anchor. Some of the fleet's capital ships, including the flagship battleship Tanager and the aircraft carrier Geofon, managed to exit the harbor itself but were intercepted by ISAF fighters before they could escape to open waters.

    The operation was a resounding success for the ISAF. Erusea abandoned the planned assault on North Point with the Aegir Fleet's destruction.

    As commander of the Battleship Tanager, Matias Torres became known as the "Hero of Comberth Harbor" for his rescue of Erusean sailors.

    Flagship The Aegir Fleet's chosen flagship, the battleship Tanager, is an unconventional choice. Most flagships in modern navies are aircraft carriers, making the Geofon a preferred choice. Erusea instead chose the Tanager as the Aegir Fleet's flagship for demonstrative purposes because of its intimidating appearance.

    Another Strangereal fleet that made a similar choice is the Emmerian 2nd Fleet, whose flagship—the Marigold—is a battle cruiser.

    Ulysses 1994XF04, commonly referred to as Ulysses, was an asteroid approximately 1.6 km in diameter. Ulysses made impact as predicted in July 1999. Within two weeks, over half a million human lives were lost.

    Professor Jonathan Payek first discovered Ulysses in October 1994 while working at Seals Bridge University. Subsequent research in the Comona Islands predicted the asteroid would pass close to Earth in 1999 with a high chance of impacting and causing devastation.

    The Federation of Central Usea announced the asteroid's prediction to the world in April 1996, sending Earth's countries into a panic. Usea and Anea were the two continents predicted to suffer the most damage, resulting in mass migrations and large shelter development. Usean countries developed the Stonehenge railgun to combat Ulysses; on Anea, Estovakia attempted to develop the Chandelier railgun but could not complete it in time.

    Ulysses made impact as predicted in July 1999. Within two weeks, over half a million human lives were lost; Usea and Estovakia's infrastructure collapsed; and a widespread humanitarian crisis quickly developed as refugees lost their homes. The political instability from the impacts lasted years and inevitably resulted in the Continental War and the Estovakian Civil War.

    History: Discovery: Researchers from Usea's International Astronomical Union (IAU) at Seals Bridge University discovered Ulysses in October 1994. Researches at Comona University used computer models to calculate the asteroid's trajectory; by December 1994, they confirmed that Ulysses would pass through Earth's Roche limit on July 3, 1999 at 3:30 PM Usea Eastern Standard Time. It would then shatter into numerous fragments and bombard the northern hemisphere with the force of two million nuclear warheads; the atmosphere debris generated by the event would plunge the affected areas into a nuclear winter. July 3, 1999 was known from then on as "Ulysses Day".

    The IAU reported its findings to the Federation of Central Usea (FCU) government. The FCU withheld the impact confirmation from the public "due to political and cultural considerations" and called an aerospace conference to decide how to prevent the impending disaster. The conference ended in a clear consensus that the FCU would have to cooperate with its allies to combat the asteroid.

    Defense efforts: Edition of Usea Today concerning the Ulysses announcement "This is an impending disaster, not only for Usea, but the entire world. ... We must take every means so that we may live to see the new millennium." ― FCU President Robert Sinclair On April 20, 1996, the FCU's serving president, Robert Sinclair, disclosed the existence and impending impact of Ulysses in an historic press conference, generating considerable shock and panic around the world. Later that day, FCU Secretary of State Stateson attended an emergency meeting of the Committee of Foreign Affairs at the Central Usea Treaty Organization (UTO) headquarters. During the meeting, Stateson proposed the creation of a "National Missile Defense" (NMD) system between UTO members. Alternatives to the NMD included a partially completed satellite-borne anti-asteroid laser system and a re-purposing of North Point's Fortress Intolerance.

    Despite initial hesitations stemming from the NMD's potential use as a weapon of war, it was ultimately chosen by the committee as the most viable option. However, the NMD plan was eventually scrapped in favor of the FCU's "Defense Initiative", internally known as "Project STN" (Spaceguard Turret Network).[9] The plan proposed an array of railgun cannons, known as Stonehenge, which was ultimately built through an international collaborative effort.

    Final months: "If the FCU is acting offensively, who will act defensively? The fact that an asteroid will fall is of equal importance to all of humanity, and we are being called to action." ― Lord Alberto Lawrence The Stonehenge complex, envisioned as the "defender of the continent", was completed in June 1998; the turrets were completed several months later. Both Osea and Yuktobania initially expressed willingness to collaborate on its construction, but were unable to participate due to reconstruction efforts from the 1995 Belkan War.

    In that same month, gravitational analyses obtained by an IAU space probe revealed that Ulysses had a hollow interior. Recalculations performed by the international scientific team concluded that the asteroid's fragments would impact a much larger area of the planet's surface than had been originally predicted. However, the STN project had progressed beyond the point at which further modifications to the weapon's capabilities could be made. Prior to the IAU's revised report, it was believed that the weapon's range of 1,200 kilometers would provide sufficient coverage for Usea; it now became clear that areas of the planet between meridian lines 135 degrees east and 30 degrees west would be hit. This brought the continent of Anea in range of Ulysses's impact.

    The Chandelier, Estovakia's giant railgun intended to defend against Ulysses After the news of Ulysses's projected range was made public, the FCU opted to make Stonehenge more reliable for its allies and refused to make additional revisions to the weapon's range. This decision left Anea completely unprotected and sparked continent-wide protests at the perceived lack of crisis management efforts. At the suggestion of Lord Alberto Lawrence, the Emmerian government began evacuating areas that were most likely to be hit and constructed a network of underground shelters in and around the nation's capital, Gracemeria, capable of housing 200,000 individuals. As a result, Emmeria was well equipped to handle the aftermath of Ulysses, and Gracemeria became one of the primary relocation sites for Anean refugees. In the meantime, Estovakia constructed its own defensive weapon, the Chandelier railgun, to defend against Ulysses; however, it was not completed in time.

    In Usea, the UTO announced its intentions to shelter refugees in each UTO-member nation. Around the world, governmental and private-sector organizations made extensive preparations concerning food and medical supplies, evacuation drills, humanitarian outreach, and disaster relief in anticipation of the impact. The plans to use Fortress Intolerance and the anti-asteroid laser fell through because of the Usean coup d'état of 1998, during which both weapons were hijacked by the rebels and were forced to be destroyed, with the war itself further hindering preparation efforts and solidarity between the nations of the continent.

    Impact: On July 3, 1999, Ulysses passed through Earth's Roche limit as predicted. The asteroid spent the next five days shattering into thousands of fragments that, on July 8, began to hit the planet. The majority of fragments fell to Earth over the next two weeks.[16] Stonehenge successfully intercepted a large number of them, preventing mass extinction, but it failed to completely protect all locations within its interception range. Some urban areas such as Comberth Harbor and Anchorhead were unharmed, but many others—including Saint Ark, Farbanti, Newfield Island, Los Canas, the Skully Islands, and Selatapura—suffered powerful impacts that radically altered their geography and devastated the local populations. Stonehenge's facility itself was hit by one fragment that disabled one of its railguns (number 4). Over 30 impact craters measuring over 1 mi (1.6 km) in diameter were created across the continent of Usea.

    Approximately 500,000 people were killed in the initial two-week planetfall period, and at least one million more were displaced as refugees. Economists estimate that the damage inflicted was equivalent to 18 months-worth of the Usean continent's total GDP. Around the world, however, certain nations were more affected by Ulysses than others (e.g. fragments that struck Anea heavily damaged Estovakia, while neighboring Emmeria remained relatively unharmed). Experts from Amherst Research Institute in Emmeria estimated Estovakia's economy would not recover to its pre-Ulysses level of activity until at least 2044.

    Aftermath: The Ulysses's planetfall triggered many changes and upheavals within the nations of the world and had a profound effect on the global population. The event became the catalyst for a number of crises and military conflicts within Usea and Anea, leaving a lasting legacy which spans nearly 20 years. The anniversary of Ulysses Day is likely observed as a day of thanksgiving and solemn remembrance of the innocent lives lost.

    Northern hemisphere: Following the impacts, Usea was inundated with millions of civilian refugees, which led the UTO to initiate a quota-based refugee relocation effort. Erusea, which had suffered thousands of casualties, responded by restricting its issuing of visas to refugees, preventing their entry into the country. Makeshift camps appeared along the Erusean borders, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in western Usea. The heated dispute between Erusea and the FCU-backed UTO eventually culminated in Erusea's armed takeover of the Stonehenge railgun facility, triggering the Continental War. At the end of the war, Erusean officers completed and commandeered Megalith, a missile launch facility that could weaponize Ulysses debris still stuck in orbit. Mobius 1 destroyed the facility during Operation Judgement Day.

    On the Anean continent, Estovakia was one of the countries most adversely affected by Ulysses, suffering widespread destruction and leaving its economy in shambles. The fall of the nation's infrastructure led to a prolonged civil war waged between infighting factions, which only ended when these groups were forcibly united under a junta of top military officers known as "The Generals". As with Usea, the junta declared war on neighboring Emmeria in August 2015. Throughout the war, the Estovakian military completed the Chandelier railgun initially intended for defense against Ulysses. After Emmeria liberated their capital on March 31, 2016, Estovakian officers opposing a ceasefire commandeered the Chandelier and retaliated. Talisman destroyed the weapon the following day.

    Osea and Yuktobania: In the years following Ulysses, minor fragments continued to linger in low orbit and fall onto the planet. The elimination of these remnants was rendered impossible by the destruction of Usea's STN facility, and later the Megalith facility as well, during the Continental War. The issue was brought up during the 2008 G7 Summit held aboard the Osean Federation's Arkbird spacecraft, where it was decided that the ship would be used to clean up the debris left by Ulysses.

    After the summit, the Arkbird was equipped with weapons built through the joint efforts of Osea and Yuktobania. The maneuverable space vessel was outfitted with Yuktobanian pulse-laser guns for smaller fragments, and an Osean beam laser system and missile launchers for large fragments. Though this was not a perfect solution—it required shattering the fragments into even smaller ones that occasionally survived passing through the atmosphere—the Arkbird successfully cleared 80% of debris around the planet's lower orbits. This led to renewed interest in the construction of an international space station, a project which was sponsored in large part by Osea and Yuktobania.

    Craters: The fragments of Ulysses produced several craters across the Earth's surface. Many of the most well-known impact sites are located in the northern hemisphere, and all known impact sites are located in Usea or Anea.

    Anderson Crater Located south of North Point, the impact that formed Anderson Crater obliterated a large area of Newfield Island's eastern face. In the years after Ulysses, plans were put forward to restore the crater area, though these efforts were hampered by the Usean Geological Survey Society's protests and the Continental War's outbreak.

    Krasinsky Crater: Officially named after Usean astronomer Dr. Romanov Krasinsky, this 1.7-kilometre (1.1 mi) wide impact site is located at Mount Shezna. The residual heat from the impact melts the snowfall within the crater, which generates billowing white columns of steam in the frigid northern climate.

    Mackenzie Crater: Due to its location in the arid Faith Park region, researchers believe that the crater will remain virtually unchanged for thousands of years. The area surrounding the crater and the crater itself became the site of a massive Erusean solar power plant, but it was destroyed by an ISAF airstrike during the Continental War.

    Goldberg Crater: Found in the desert terrain of the Whiskey Corridor, it is one of the largest craters created by Ulysses with a diameter of 8.4 kilometers. The force of the collision redirected the flow of water from the Irsali River, causing Old Anchor Point City's port to dry up and become a graveyard of stranded ships.

    Ryker/Laker Crater One of the deadliest recorded impacts, a Ulysses fragment decimated the coastal area of Farbanti, killing thousands and flooding the site with seawater. Despite the catastrophe, the Erusean government and many of the city's inhabitants remained there in the aftermath.

    Unnamed crater in Saint Ark One of the most devastating Ulysses fragments to strike urban areas was the one that impacted in the outskirts of Saint Ark, destroying its airbase and leaving a crater almost 5 km (3.1 mi) in diameter.

    The Circum-Pacific War, also referred to as the Belkan Conflict and the Great War, was a large-scale war waged between the Osean Federation and the Union of Yuktobanian Republics. The conflict was later revealed to have been masterminded by a cabal of Belkan nationalists known as the "Grey Men", which ended when Osea and Yuktobania signed a peace and fought the Grey Men together. Despite its name, the conflict was waged across the Ceres Ocean.

    Prelude: In 1995, after discovering natural resources in neighboring Ustio, the nation of Belka launched a coordinated blitz attack (spearheaded by the legendary Belkan Air Force) and invaded Ustio, Osea, and Sapin. A coalition of Osean and Ustian forces, supported by Yuktobania and a number of foreign mercenary fighter squadrons, turned the tide of the war and pushed Belka's forces back into Belkan territory. On June 6, 1995, Belka detonated seven nuclear warheads along the Waldreich Mountains in an attempt to stop the advancing Allied Forces—thousands of Belkan civilians were killed in the blasts.[9] An immediate ceasefire was ordered, and a peace treaty was ratified by all of the involved countries shortly afterward.

    Osea and Yuktobania, which had been in the midst of a Cold War, settled their differences during the Belkan War and became powerful allies in the years thereafter. The two superpowers enjoyed an era of peace and economic prosperity spanning about 15 years, during which several collaborative projects were completed, including the Arkbird and Basset Space Center. During this time, a secret organization began devising a scheme to renew animosities between the two superpowers as the ultimate revenge for Belka's defeat at the hands of Osea and Yuktobania in 1995. Naming themselves the Grey Men, the Belkan supremacist group (comprising a number of well-connected Belkan businessmen and politicians) quietly assumed control of strategic facilities along the Belka-Osea border, including Mount Schirm, Stier Castle, and the former South Belka Munitions Factory.

    Initial engagements: On September 23, 2010, the OADF 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron, "Wardog Squadron", was performing a training exercise over Cape Landers when an unknown squadron of MiG-29s entered the airspace. The interlopers attacked the Osean aircraft, and the engagement cost the lives of every trainee, except one—2nd Lt. Kei Nagase—and two of the three flight instructors (the surviving instructor was Cpt. Jack Bartlett). Wardog's assigned base, Sand Island Air Force Base, and the remaining Wardog pilots on the ground were unharmed.

    The next day, September 24, another unidentified aircraft entered Osean airspace. Osea's anti-aircraft defensive network managed to damage the bogey, and it had begun withdrawing from Osean airspace. Sand Island launched Wardog Squadron—under the command of Cpt. Bartlett—to perform the intercept. Wardog attempted to force the plane to land, but once again, a squadron of unknown fighters suddenly entered the airspace and engaged the Osean squadron. This time, however, Wardog held its own against the hostile fighters and shot down all of the unknown aircraft.

    On September 27, a spy vessel was spotted in the vicinity of Sand Island; radar analysis showed that the mysterious vessel had deployed several unmanned reconnaissance drones. Wardog Squadron, under express orders not to damage the unknown ship, once again took flight and shot down all of the spy drones. For the third time in less than a week, a squadron of unknown fighters engaged Wardog, which were shot down as well.

    During the engagement, the spy vessel fired an anti-aircraft missile at Nagase. Bartlett ran interference and diverted the missile from Nagase's aircraft, taking the hit and bailing out of his damaged F-4G Wild Weasel before it crashed into the Ceres Ocean. However, when the search-and-rescue helicopter arrived, Bartlett was nowhere to be found and declared MIA. By the time the remaining Wardog pilots had returned to base, Yuktobania had made an official declaration of war on Osea.

    Open war: Following its declaration of war, Yuktobania simultaneously launched an assault on the naval port of St. Hewlett, which was hosting the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet's flagship, the Kestrel. Wardog Squadron rendezvoused with other nearby allied squadrons and managed to escort the Kestrel into open waters, despite the Yuktobanians' deployment of numerous bomber aircraft and a blockade of warships outside the harbor's mouth.

    Later that evening, Yuktobania launched a surprise bombing raid began on Sand Island, Osea's westernmost point, and Wardog took to the skies once again. During the attack, the 108th TFS leader Lt. Colonel Ford attempted to land, but was shot down and killed during his approach. Blaze, now leader of the 108th, alongside Nagase and Alvin H. Davenport were joined by Airman First Class Hans Grimm, who successfully taxied and took off despite the intense enemy bombardment. Together, the four Wardog fighters managed to repulse the Yuktobanian air raid, sparing the air base from any irreparable damage.

    Osean counterattack: Osea quickly began rallying its forces in preparation for a counterattack against Yuktobania. On September 30, the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet's aircraft carriers (Kestrel, Vulture, and Buzzard), rendezvoused at the Eaglin Straits in northern Osea. As the warships entered the straits, Yuktobanian carrier jets infiltrated the airspace and launched a surprise attack on the carriers. Although the attacking fighters were shot down by Osean escort aircraft, two burst missiles from the underwater carrier Scinfaxi were launched. These warheads sunk the Vulture and Buzzard, as well as the majority of Osea's fighters—only the Kestrel, its squadron, and Wardog Squadron made it out alive. Following the engagement, Wardog retreated to Heierlark Air Force Base.

    In response to the threat posed by the Scinfaxi and its burst missiles, Osea decided to deploy the Arkbird, a large maneuverable spacecraft capable of attacking from orbit, into battle. Osea planned an SSTO operation to re-attach the Arkbird's lower laser module that had been removed a few years ago as part of the 2008 arms-reduction negotiations.[19] On October 3, the Mass Driver that was due to launch the SSTO fell under attack by Yuktobanian aircraft, but Wardog, which had landed at McNealy Air Force Base on its route back to Sand Island, intercepted the strike forces, and the launch proceeded smoothly.

    The next day, the Arkbird's laser module was attached and functional—just in time for Yuktobania to attempt a second attack on Sand Island. This time, the Yuktobanians launched a large amphibious landing force to capture the base. Wardog Squadron defended the base and held back the oncoming naval fleet, which also deployed the Scinfaxi to support its progress. All of the rookie pilots that had just joined Wardog Squadron were shot down in the ensuing burst missile attack, but with support from the Arkbird, the remaining Wardog pilots managed to sink the Scinfaxi.

    Harling's and Nikanor's disappearances A few weeks after Yuktobania's attempt to take Sand Island, on October 22, Osean President Vincent Harling attempted to travel to the neutral country of North Point to hold peace talks with Yuktobanian Prime Minister Seryozha Viktrovich Nikanor. However, Osea's anti-air defenses, not recognizing the president's secret transport plane (Mother Goose One), fired on the plane and forced it to make an emergency landing somewhere in Akerson Hill.

    Wardog Squadron defended the plane until it landed, whereupon the president's transport was entrusted to the 8492nd Squadron. This would be the last time President Harling was seen for two months; from then on, Osean Vice President Appelrouth assumed command of the Osean military. It was around this time that Prime Minister Nikanor was quietly replaced by a coup of Yuktobanian right-wing militants.

    Soon afterward, the Arkbird was put out of commission an explosive device planted by unknown operatives aboard a supply shipment from Earth. The Osean military could not repair the orbiting satellite, so the issue was ignored.

    Invasion of Yuktobania; terrorist attacks The Osean military launched an amphibious landing operation on October 31, 2010, taking the fight to Yuktobania for the first time and establishing a beachhead on the Bastok Peninsula.[25] Two days later, Yuktobanian forces attempted to egress supplies from the area via transport aircraft in order to create a reinforced front line ahead of the Osean military. Wardog Squadron was deployed to intercept and shoot down all of the transport planes.

    However, during this operation, an engineering college in Dresdene was under attack by aircraft bearing Osean markings. This was later determined to be the doing of the 8492nd Squadron, but due to the ECM jamming in the area, the aircraft were invisible to radar. Wardog, being the only Osean fighter squadron known to be operating in the area, was called to Oured for questioning.

    During Wardog's hearing in Oured, Yuktobanian special forces launched a terrorist attack on Osean soil in response to the earlier attack on Yuktobania. The terrorists targeted Apito International Airport with assault units, as well as the college town of Bana City with chemical weapons.[28] Osea's Capital District Air Defense Squadron was launched to suppress one attack while Wardog Squadron (due to there being no other options) was launched to address the other.

    Several days after the retaliatory attacks, the Osean military launched two secret operations deep within Yuktobanian territory: one to destroy an underground munitions storage facility in Duga, and another to destroy a large munitions factory in Sonza.[30] Osea then began a direct offensive operation to capture the Yuktobanian capital, Cinigrad, in short order.[31]

    When the Osean military began offensive operations, however, Yuktobania deployed the Scinfaxi's sister ship, the Hrimfaxi, and fired burst missiles from the Razgriz Straits at the ground troops, preventing their advance. Wardog Squadron flew north to destroy the submarine as it was refueling. Wardog's destruction of the Hrimfaxi earned the pilots' the nickname "Demons of Razgriz" and made them the keystone of the Osean military's morale.

    By the end of November 2010, the Osean offensive had come to a head in the Jilachi Desert. Osea launched a coordinated ground-and-air campaign to overtake vital Yuktobanian defensive positions in the desert. With the help of Wardog Squadron, the Osean forces pushed through the Jilachi Desert and inched ever closer to the capital of Cinigrad.

    On November 29, Wardog was asked to perform a ceremonial fly-by over a peace ceremony being held in November City, Osea. At the event, the Vice President gave a strikingly pro-war speech, to which the crowd the responded by singing in unison. Suddenly, Yuktobanian aircraft penetrated the airspace and attempted to assault the stadium. Reinforcements were called, but the 8492nd Squadron appeared once more and called off the reinforcements by claiming that the attack was only a drill. The reinforcements were called back after a short while, but by that time, Alvin H. Davenport had crashed and been killed in action. The attack was halted once Osean reinforcements arrived.

    Over the next few days, Osean ground forces attempted to capture Cruik Fortress, the final blockade on the path to Cinigrad. Wardog Squadron joined the ground troops on the third attempt, which proved successful as the ground troops broke through the northern wall. On the return trip, however, Wardog Squadron was attacked by the 8492nd Squadron, who showed its true colors as Belkan spies in the Osean military. This was unknown to any other Osean aircraft or troops due to jamming in the area, and by the time Wardog made it back to Sand Island, the entire base personnel was under the belief that they were spies. Wardog attempted to escape, but they were shot down by Marcus Snow of the Kestrel's air squadron. According to official OADF records, all of the Wardog pilots were KIA during this engagement.

    The Razgriz: Though they lost their pillar of morale, Osean Army continued to attempt to capture Cinigrad. Unfortunately, the ground troops, with no assistance from Wardog Squadron, could not take the capital and fell back to a defensive position. The war entered a stalemate at this point, and though Yuktobanian forces regained some land in the following days, neither side scored any notable victories after the capture of Cruik Fortress.

    Meanwhile, the members of Wardog Squadron, who had not perished during the engagement, were brought to the Kestrel and her fleet in secret. They, along with Marcus Snow, used captured planes to free President Harling, who they figured out was being held in Stier Castle in the Waldreich Mountains. After successfully rescuing him from Belkan forces, the President formed a secret squadron: the Razgriz Squadron, the members of whom were Marcus Snow and those from Wardog Squadron ("Blaze" as its leader, Kei Nagase as Razgriz 2, Snow as Razgriz 3, and Hans Grimm as Razgriz 4).

    A secret message was transmitted to the Kestrel Fleet. It listed coordinates to Mount Schirm, a date and time, and the number of votes that President Harling received in his past two elections, indicating the message was for him. Blaze flew a solo reconnaissance mission to Mount Schirm to investigate what was going on, and discovered that 8492nd Squadron members had infiltrated the area. In addition, the mine appeared to be housing Belka's V1s. The President decided to seal the mine entrance, not allowing any more nuclear weapons to come to the surface. The Razgriz, in full formation, flew to the mine and sealed the entrance permanently. However, at least two nuclear weapons were already taken out of the mine by the time it was sealed.

    Another secret message was transmitted to the Kestrel Fleet. This time, it specified a location within Yuktobania. When the Razgriz Squadron flew there, they made contact with a resistance group that was attempting to dismantle a nuclear bomb that was sent to Yuktobania. They requested the Razgriz's help in holding off the Yuktobanian forces from entering the ravine. Razgriz then engaged the Belkan 5th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Ofnir", the equivalent of the 8492nd that had infiltrated the Yuktobanian Air Force. Razgriz shot them down, but they all managed to bail out. The nuclear weapon was successfully dismantled. Razgriz also learned that the identity of the person sending the secret messages was none other than Jack Bartlett, who had been involved in the Yuktobanian resistance for the past few months.

    A secret transmission, this time in Belkan, was intercepted by the Kestrel Fleet. It indicated that the Arkbird, which had been repaired and taken under Belkan control, had a nuclear weapon on-board and would drop it on Okchabursk, Yuktobania, which would frame Osea for the attack. The Razgriz Squadron managed to intercept the Arkbird and shoot it down into the ocean, safe from harm.

    In the meantime, President Harling had been attempting to broadcast his voice to the Osean people to get them to see the truth. The Vice President, however, censored it from airing, calling it "enemy propaganda." The President and his Marine force flew into Oured to make sure that the President's voice was heard. The next day, the Razgriz Squadron was assigned to help Bartlett escape Yuktobania, with the Yuktobanian Major Nastasya Vasilievna Obertas and Prime Minister Nikanor, the latter having been in prison for about as long as President Harling. The 8492nd Squadron was revealed to be the Belkan 229th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Grabacr" as they attempted to intercept the Razgriz and Barlett's plane, but they were all shot down and safely ejected from their planes. The Major brought a disc that contained secret plans from the Grey Men, and the members of the Kestrel Fleet began to decrypt it.

    On December 29, the Kestrel Fleet encountered a large Yuktobanian fleet. Prime Minister Nikanor attempted to broadcast his voice in a call for peace, but the Yuktobanian Fleet Commander claimed that Nikanor had joined the enemy and ordered his ships to fire on the battle group. The Razgriz was sent to destroy the Yuke fleet and defend three defecting ships that had decided to protect the Prime Minister. In the middle of the engagement, a small Osean battle group came into the picture and fired on the Kestrel Fleet for "siding with the Yukes." The fleet and the Razgriz managed to destroy all attacking forces.

    The next day, the disc was decrypted, and it revealed plans for the V-2 Mass Retaliation Weapon. The Grey Men had loaded it onto the Strategic Orbital Linear Gun (or SOLG) and were controlling it from Gründer Industries, whose CEO was a member of the Grey Men. As the Razgriz were about to launch to destroy the control devices within a large tunnel that Gründer had been digging in Sudentor, the Kestrel was hit by two submarine-launched missiles. All of the crew safely escaped the ship, and the Razgriz Squadron managed to take off before it sank.

    As the Razgriz Squadron flew to Sudentor, President Harling and Prime Minister Nikanor held a peace talk in Oured, officially ending the war and calling on their troops to assist the Razgriz against the true enemy. In a coalition of Yuktobanian and Osean forces, the Razgriz entered the tunnel and destroyed the control devices. However, the SOLG's fail-safe (which would initiate if it lost contact with the control devices) activated, sending it on a crash course to Oured. The next day, Razgriz Squadron flew for the final time, meeting both Ofnir and Grabacr Squadrons. Razgriz managed to shoot them all down, and then safely destroy the SOLG as it approached Oured.

    Aftermath: At the 2013 Osean Federation Council Meeting, Harling announced that all information pertaining to the "Belkan Conflict" would be released to the public in 2020. Harling affirmed that only time would "shed light on the truth behind the conflict", and expressed his optimistic view of the future, stating that the world had "already begun to head down a new path."

    The terrorist group Free Erusea, which was supposedly defeated in 2006, took advantage of the weakened state of the world's military forces and acquired a significant amount of firepower, starting another uprising on the Usean continent in 2014.

    In 2019, the Kingdom of Erusea captured the space elevator and declared war on Osea, believing that Osea aimed to use Lighthouse to take control of the Usean continent.

    The Emmeria-Estovakia War was a large-scale war on the Anean continent waged between the Federal Republic of Estovakia and the Republic of Emmeria, which Emmeria won. The Emmeria-Estovakia War, also referred to as the Estovakia-Emmeria War or E.E. War, was a large-scale war on the Anean continent waged between the Federal Republic of Estovakia and the Republic of Emmeria. It is the main focus of the story campaign in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.

    The war officially began in the summer of 2015, with Estovakian forces crossing the border and invading the Emmerian capital city of Gracemeria. Following the loss of their capital, a large portion of the Emmerian military was eventually pushed back to Khesed Island in October 2015.

    The Emmerian counteroffensive began in November 2015, and they successfully retook Khesed by the following month. In January 2016, the Emmerians landed on Anea, and later pushed inland, rescuing stranded allies. While pushing further inland, Garuda Team led an assault on the Aerial Fleet, where Talisman destroyed the P-1112 Aigaion. Emmeria eventually recaptured their capital in March, forcing Estovakian leaders to begin negotiating a ceasefire agreement and cede all captured territory. However, Estovakian officers opposing peace talks with Emmeria utilized the Chandelier as a retaliatory weapon. In April, the Republic of Emmeria Air Force attacked and destroyed the railgun, ending the Emmeria-Estovakia War. In Estovakia, a coup d'etat in the nation's capital overthrew "The Generals" and the ceasefire was signed later in May.

    Ulysses Impact Event: In December 1994, the Ulysses 1994XF04 asteroid was found and later discovered to have a hollow interior, bringing Anea into the range of impact. This left the Anean nations with just a year to prepare for the coming impact. Emmeria took a more defensive approach, building shelters and evacuating citizens while Estovakia opted to create the Chandelier to intercept the asteroid. However, limited time resulted in the railgun not being completed in time.

    In July 1999, Ulysses entered the Earth's atmosphere devastated both Emmeria and Estovakia's economies. Emmeria managed to recover relatively quickly while Estovakia suffered the brunt of the damage. In an effort to aid its eastern neighbor in its recovery, Emmeria began the Emmerian-Estovakian Reconstruction Effort.

    The lack of government presence following the impacts saw the rise of numerous factions across Estovakia, all vying for control of the nation. A humanitarian crisis in Gledina would see the various factions declaring war on one another.

    Estovakian Civil War: The Estovakian Civil War remained in a stalemate until Belkan defectors provided Heavy command cruiser technology to the Eastern Faction, allowing them to create the Aerial Fleet and win the war in October 2013.

    Following the civil war, the Eastern Faction established a new Estovakian government led by The Generals. Growing resentment towards Emmeria during the civil war allowed The Generals to declare war on Emmeria in 2015.

    Outbreak of war: On August 30, 2015, Estovakia declared open war on Emmeria and launched a full scale invasion of the capital city, Gracemeria. Shortly after, Estovakian aircraft entered Gracemeria airspace, the Republic of Emmeria Air Force dispatched all available squadrons to defend the capital. Initially, Emmerian forces almost succeeded in driving out the invaders but were soon afterward forced to retreat following the arrival of the Strigon Team and Nimbus missiles which wiped out a majority of Emmerian aircraft.

    The King & Balloon Operations were carried out in an effort to retake Gracemeria, these would ultimately fail due to an umbrella defense network comprised of the Strigon Team, P-1112 Aigaion and the Estovakian South Sea Fleet.

    Emmerian refugees In September 2015, Estovakians reached the city of San Loma and began their attack operations. Emmeria ultimately lost the Battle of San Loma due to further Nimbus missile strikes from the Aigaion.

    By October 2015, many Emmerians were displaced and sought refuge in many facilities near the border with Nordennavic. In the same month, a large portion of the Emmerian military retreated to Khesed Island.

    Battles of Khesed Island: By November 2015, Emmerian forces which had fled to the southwest of Khesed Island were stationed at Campagna Airport, east of Vitoze; an old medieval city. Estovakia had also established a frontline base in Sipli Field—located in the center of Khesed—to coordinate attacks against Emmerian forces in Vitoze. The Estovakian Air Force, aware of the current state of Emmerian forces stationed near the city, saw the opportunity to bring a swift end to the war. On November 24, 2015, numerous Estovakian bomber squadrons entered Vitoze airspace and commenced bombing operations. The Emmerian Air Force dispatched multiple squadrons in response. Ultimately, the Emmerian military was able to prevent the destruction of both Campagna Airport and Vitoze.

    Shortly after the successful defense of Vitoze, Emmeria drew up plans to reclaim Khesed Island. The plan would require the Estovakian forces stationed in Sipli Field driven out and their frontline broken. On November 27, 2015, Republic of Emmeria Army tank battalions—including Steel Gunners, Warlock and Quox—pushed into Sipli Field. Working in tandem with the air force, the Emmerian army successfully drove Estovakian forces out of Sipli and forced them to retreat to Bartolomeo Fortress.

    On December 27, 2015, Emmerian ground and air forces approached Mount Marcello and launched a large-scale offensive on Bartolomeo Fortress. Just before the Emmerian military could finish the battle, two members of the Strigon Team—led by Karlo Bogdanovic—entered the airspace in an effort to prevent the recapture of the fortress. Despite their feroscious efforts, both pilots were shot down by Garuda Team and the battle concluded with Emmeria as the victor. Following the loss of Bartolomeo Fortress, Estovakian forces retreated from Khesed Island and fortified their positions on the mainland.

    Liberation of Emmeria: With Khesed Island once again under Emmerian control, plans developed for an amphibious landing on the Anean mainland. On January 26, 2016, Emmerian forces—supported by Emmerian squadrons—landed on Rargom Beach and a large scale engagement ensued. During the battle, Quox Battalion, alongside the Yellow Jacket helicopter unit, managed to retake Ortara and the airport located nearby. Warlock Battalion broke through the center of the beach and the Republic of Emmeria Navy engaged Estovakian forces occupying the Kijera Oil Fields. As Emmerian forces were on the brink of victory, a large scale Estovakian detachment arrived in the Jamel Desert. Despite the numerous reinforcements, the Emmerian military managed to establish a foothold on the mainland. Following the battle, news quickly spread about the Emmerians' successful landing on Anea.

    By February 2016, remaining Emmerian battalions in Rawllins Plain—Grizzly, Barracuda, Dragon Busters, Gavial, and Sherpa—were completely pinned down near Silvat Town. With them, were both Sky Kid and Stingray squadrons.

    On February 7, during the prolonged engagement, Emmerian reinforcements from Khesed Island arrived at Silvat Town to support the stranded battalions. With support from Emmerian squadrons, allied battalions were able to regain control over Rawllins Plain and Estovakian forces began to retreat. Retreating Estovakian forces—including Cvitko Dudic and Irena Dvornik—were pursued and destroyed by Emmerian forces.

    To avoid confrontation with a larger Estovakian force, the Emmerian military was advised by the Department of National Safety to utilize a steep mountain path which cut through the Selumna Peaks; a route which is difficult to traverse by tanks and ground vehicles. During their mobilization, Estovakian aircraft entered the airspace and began performing bombing runs on the Emmerian battalions below and a large aerial battle ensued. At some point during the engagement, Estovakian squadrons were ordered to retreat from the airspace and began to pull out. Emmerian squadrons pursued the retreating Estovakians but were suddenly ambushed by the P-1112 Aigaion's Nimbus missiles. Emmerian aircraft were ordered to evacuate while Garuda Team would eliminate the Searchers guiding the cruise missiles. The evacuation was completed at approximately the same time the last Searcher was destroyed.

    To deal with the threat of Nimbus missiles, the Emmerian military began drawing up plans to eliminate the Estovakian heavy command cruiser. Meanwhile, a number of Emmerian agents were dispatched to obtain information regarding the Aerial Fleet. To conduct such an offensive, the Emmerians required a springboard to launch said operation from. Deeming Cavallia Air Force Base in San Loma to be a suitable candidate.

    On February 15, 2016, Emmerian forces approached Tarvo and began their assault on San Loma, prompting Estovakian Command to halt the partisan sweep operation. Hammerhead and Stork bomber units would destroy Estovakian anti-air emplacements across the shoreline en route to San Loma while the Emmerian 2nd Fleet would push into Doypalm Bay. Warlock Separate Battalion and Windhover Squadron would engage Estovakian battalions—Oleg, Kuznetsov, and Sabine—defending the northwest route to the city.

    Following the destruction of the majority of Estovakian forces in Tarvo, the Emmerian military began converging on San Loma to eliminate all remaining occupying forces. After an extensive siege and barrage of attacks, the city was once again under Emmerian control.

    Assault on the Aerial Fleet: With information regarding the Aerial Fleet provided by Department of National Safety agents, multiple Emmerian squadrons launched from Cavallia and headed across the Fuscum Sea to ambush the P-1112 Aigaion during its mid-air refueling. With its radar temporarily disabled during mid-air refueling, the Aerial Fleet was completely unaware of the oncoming Emmerian assault.

    Shortly after Emmerian aircraft began engaging, the Strigon Team alongside Lorenz Riedel, scrambled to defend the Aerial Fleet from attacking Emmerian forces. Despite their efforts, both were shot down by Emmerian squadrons, leaving the P-1112 Aigaion vulnerable. After a prolonged final stand from the Aigaion, Talisman delivered the final blow to the aerial warship, leaving it to crash into the sea below and ending the Nimbus missile threat.

    Following this, Ilya Pasternak was assigned as captain of the Strigon Team in response to Garuda Team.

    Push towards Gracemeria: With the threat of Nimbus missiles eliminated, the Emmerian military quickly began advancing towards Gracemeria. In their path was Ragno Fortress; a military installation crucial to the control of central Anea. On March 6, 2016, Emmerian forces invaded Grageo Canyon and began besieging the fortress. Yellow Jacket would deploy Emmerian special forces through tunnels below the fortress while tank battalions and squadrons assaulted the fortress above ground. Following the destruction of a majority of the occupying forces, special forces eliminated any remaining Estovakians, securing the fortress.

    The Estovakian military, fully aware of the looming threat of the Emmerian advance, began planning to transport WMD catalysts into Gracemeria as part of a scorched earth policy. Unaware of this, the Emmerian military continued pushing eastward.

    In the same month, the Estovakian Army began gathering a large force in Moloch Desert to attempt to stop Emmerian forces from reaching Gracemeria. On March 25, the Emmerian military engaged this force in one of the largest battles of the war. Being absolutely overrun by Emmerian forces, the Estovakian forces began to retreat. Around this time, Emmerian command obtained information regarding Estovakia's scorched earth policy and immediately ordered all Emmerian forces to cease fire.

    Multiple Strigon Team members soon after entered the airspace, Shamrock, unaware of the WMD threat, disobeyed the order and Garuda Team entertained a dogfight in which they would prevail. As a result of this action, the Estovakian military planned to move the WMD catalysts into Gracemeria at a more rapid pace.

    The following day, Garuda Team was dispatched to the Alma River to eliminate the WMD catalysts. Flying through the canyon to avoid radar detection, they successfully located and destroyed the catalyst transport squad. As Garuda Team exfiltrated the airspace, numerous Estovakian squadrons engaged them. Forced to retaliate, Garuda Team managed to hold out until reinforcements arrived. Following the arrival of allied squadrons, all Estovakian squadrons were quickly shot down.

    The Liberation of Gracemeria: On March 31, the Emmerian military commenced Operation Free Gracemeria. Emmerian forces were spread all across the city, with operations aiming to recapture Gracemeria Air Force Base, Gracemeria Castle, the capitol building and radio station. The Emmerian 2nd Fleet would push into the King's Bay and engage the South Sea Fleet while a large aerial battle took place overhead.

    After almost all Estovakian forces were eliminated, the Strigon Team entered the airspace now under the command of Ilya Pasternak, who ordered all other pilots to evacuate while he stalled Emmerian forces. Pasternak, alongside a multitude of UAV-45s, engaged the Emmerian squadrons, managing to down a number of Emmerian pilots before being shot down himself by Talisman. With the conclusion of the dogfight, Gracemeria had successfully been liberated, although small pockets of resistance still remained. Following Gracemeria's liberation, Emmerian and Estovakian leaders began negotiating a ceasefire. During negotiations, Estovakia ceded all territory it had captured back to Emmeria.

    Estovakian retaliation: That evening, Estovakian officers who opposed signing the ceasefire agreement activated the Chandelier as citizens in Gracemeria took to the streets in celebration of their victory. Fireworks lit up the night sky while Emmerian squadrons patrolled overhead. During the celebrations, cruise missiles began approaching the city. Patrolling squadrons and ground forces intercepted wave after wave of incoming cruise missiles. Eventually, Estovakian squadrons began arriving, rendering many Emmerian squadrons unable to intercept missiles. After a prolonged aerial battle, the attacks stopped and the destruction of Gracemeria was prevented. AWACS Ghost Eye analyzed the trajectory of the missiles and tracked their origin to an area north of Sonne Island.

    On April 1, numerous Emmerian squadrons were dispatched to investigate an area north of Sonne Island with orders to engage any threats. During the sortie, they came across an operational Chandelier and a battle ensued. During the battle, all remaining Strigon Team members were shot down along with Gustav Dvornik, who was attempting to escape. The battle concluded when Talisman flew into the Chandelier's barrel and destroyed its core. Emmerian forces soon after returned home.

    Ceasefire: In late May 2016, a ceasefire agreement was signed between Emmeria and Estovakia, officially ending the Emmeria-Estovakia War and re-established peaceful relations between the two nations. However, Estovakia was once again left in a terrible state.

Our squadron emblem is purple with a yellow outline and text, featuring an image of a knight wielding a spear, riding a horse, and holding a shield with thunder on it.

    Belkan Priority One Strategic Airspace B7R, often referred to as Area B7R and nicknamed "The Round Table", is a semi-arid desert plateau situated along the present-day border of the Osean Federation and the Republic of Ustio. The industrial city of Sudentor is located slightly north of its geographic center. It is arguably one of the most important and infamous battlegrounds of the Belkan War.

    Description: Area B7R derives its nickname—"The Round Table"—from its uniquely circular shape and flat, elevated topography, which is delineated by the mountain range that circumscribes it. The area is known to have been rich in valuable natural resources. Although the area possesses a semi-arid climate, the desert flats surrounding the base of the mountains show residual signs of water runoff, presumably due to torrential rainstorms in the area.

    The mountains surrounding Area B7R appear to be comprised of silver, soda, and talc deposits. The area also possesses a naturally occurring electromagnetic field that is strong enough to disrupt electronic communications. No official mining operations are on record; however, illegal aircraft wreckage salvaging operations are known to have taken place in the area.

    History: Throughout its history, the Round Table has been the site of many conflicts over its strategic location and valuable resources. Despite this, Belka retained control of the area; following Belka's 1988 Federal Law Review, Area B7R became situated along Belka's southern border with Osea and the newly independent nation of Ustio. During the Belkan War in 1995, Area B7R served as the site of many decisive aerial engagements between the Allied and Belkan air forces.

    Operation Choker One: On April 20, the Allied Forces' Galm Team was dispatched to Area B7R to engage and preoccupy the Belkan air forces stationed in the airspace. The two mercenary pilots shot down the Belkan fighters and gave the Allies an opportunity to initiate its counteroffensive operation, Offensive Campaign No. 4101.

    Operation Battle-Axe: On May 28, at a special meeting of the Assembly of Nations, Osea announced that it was permanently withdrawing from the assembly's non-aggression treaty and launched a large-scale aerial attack on Area B7R. A massive dogfight soon erupted over Area B7R as the Allies attempted to "topple" the Round Table; the Allies, supported once more by Galm, inflicted considerable damage and casualties to the Belkan defense forces, effectively ending Belka's long-standing air superiority in the region.

    Operation Thunderbolt: On December 31, as part of the Allies' campaign against the terrorist organization A World With No Boundaries, Galm Team passed through Area B7R, which was the quickest route to Avalon Dam in which V2 was being stored. During its approach, Galm was engaged by several ace squadrons, which had allied themselves with the terrorists. Galm's success in the final known battle over Area B7R resulted in the ultimate defeat of the coup d'état forces in Belka.
