Corporate Hell

this all started in the year 1910 when three brothers decided to go their ways and all three opened up three different shops. the first brother, was the smartest and unfortunately the weakest. he wasn’t strong, but he had excellent engineering mind, his name was William Sterf. at first he opened a repair shop, since he was great with tech, but later he started a small business that makes fridges, and very good fridges that can keep the food fresh when it’s not even powered for a month. but the business grew and from fridges, they started producing liquid nitrogen, and later, starting to develop cryostasis technology, the now megacorporation was named Cryotech Incorporated, the largest producer of life-preserving technologies.

the second brother, who’s name was Jack Sunthorn, was a jack of all trades, but he was great in medicine, really great in medicine. he already had concepts of genetic modifications in his brain, just the sci-fi type. but, as he grew he became an excellent genetic engineer and was working for the US government. he also founded his own laboratory, and a small business that sold lab equipment. but, as the experiments went on, he was transformed by his own experiments, also becoming paranoid and constantly on edge. the business grew and became another megacorporation called Sunthorn’s Biotechnics, and became a bit of a shadow organization that, while providing pharmaceutical goods, also conducted human experiments, with willing subjects but keeping it as a secret.

the third brother, Harison Cherstor, was not only very strong, but also had excellent firearm knowledge. when their father died, he got the most of the cash, but instead of helping people, he became a black market arms dealer. until he was captured by the police and sentenced to 20 years in prison. after he got out after just 12 years for his good behavior, he acquired enough money to start his own delivery business called G.D.A.L. or Global Delivery And Logistics. the company grew, becoming third megacorporation that not only provided fastest delivery services and sold raw minerals, but also developed bombers and other means to ‘deliver’ the payload.

now, it’s the year 2081. the Earth is gone to shit, with overpopulation, global pollution and economical catastrophes. the corporations are playing a part in restoring the planet while also making a lot of money. with Cryotech providing means to contain what little flora and fauna left, Synthorn’s Biotechnics developing means to bring extinct plants and animals back, and GDAL making sure that there won’t be any problems with logistics and rebel threats. the brothers have not united, even hating one another for different reasons but agreeing to work together for the means to preserve Earth.

but, despite that, all three brothers are facing another problem, aging. since all of them are over 171 years old, their bodies should be already destroyed. but, they are all alive. William, using his own technology to augment his body, with his biological part being only the brain, now he looks like a mass of mechanical tentacles hidden under a cloak, with only his head peaking out. Jack, who was transformed into a creature resembling a dragon, but with round head, a cat muzzle and fluffy orange fur, became unaging after the transformation, but due to his paranoia, he had a personality split. and Harrison became an AI that controls the delivery androids and drones across the globe, usually taking an appearance of a floating eye.

now more about the corporations. Cryotech, despite making best fridges, is also making a cryostasis pods designed to preserve humans and other biological matter with ability to bring them back to life after an unknown amount of time. also, the company is producing implants designed to replace the tissue to stop biological aging. the company’s HQ is located near Paris, being a massive complex, that stretches not only up but also down. in the center is a massive office with a spherical penthouse at the top, where is the CEO’s office. around the office is a flower-shaped complex of buildings, either offices, production sections or labs, with most of the production lines being underground. the buildings are connected by magnetic levitation trains, or maglev for short. with at least one station in each building. in the underground section of the main office is a massive storage area, filled with towers filled with cryopods, containing countless organic beings. that is also where William has his private laboratory. overall William prefers to stay in the shadow, literally and figuratively. very little is known about the corporations, besides that what it tells the workers. he also has a right-hand woman called Jessica Cryter, she is also the head of security personnel and she is from Paris. they have a Father and Daughter relationship, with Jessica usually keeping William company when she is not working, joking and sometimes doing little pranks on him.

the HQ and main laboratory of Sunthorn’s Biotechnics is located in New York, looking like a massive tower with a penthouse at the very top where Jack lives and woks most of the time. during one of his experiments, he found a new liquid called Green Ichor that is able to transform any human who drinks it. the transformation is painful, requiring medical assistance to avoid any deaths. the liquid is highly classified, only given to his most trusted scientists. Jack himself is suffering from personality split. the liquid sometimes gets to his brain, causing his eyes to turn from blue to green. during the split, he enters a shock-like state for about 30 seconds. his first personality, the true Jack is always on edge, looking behind his back, paranoid that something or somebody is there, causing him to be anxious and sometimes he even hallucinates, seeing his other side. speaking of which, his other side is colder most of the times, always having very sweet voice and sly smile, but it’s also always tired, hiding that fact. also, it conducts most of the surgeries during the transformations, alongside his AI assistant ADA. also, while true Jack is gay, his other side is straight, meaning he is technically a bisexual. he also has two assistants, one is his ex, Elizabeth Asher. during one of the containment breaches, she locked herself in a room full of Green Ichor and drank it, turning into a creature resembling an anthro bunny with jetblack fur and six eyes, four on the head and two on the ears that are always pointing backwards. she can see in normal specter, but also has night vision and thermal vision, being Jack’s bodyguard. second is Criss Sparrow, his boyfriend and right-hand man. Criss is always besides Jack when he has panic attacks and sometimes manages the company when Jack is either performing a surgery or is taking a day off. also needing to mention that while officially he is single, both Criss and Elizabeth are in love with Jack, also regularly having sex since Elizabeth is regularly pent up as the side effect of her transformation.

lastly, GDAL HQ is located in San Francisco, resembling a massive column that is about 4 kilometers high and five kilometers wide, with millions of docking ports for the cargo drones in the walls. a bunch of 5 meter thick cables are running from the top and into the smaller columns around the central one, splitting into more wires that spread further, creating a net that reaches across the entire globe, even underwater. the HQ is not just offices, but also production lines, maintenance gates, and data center. the structure is entirely autonomous, with little to no human input required. the AI mainframe that is Harrison, is located in the center of the tower, inside the massive chamber, submerged in liquid nitrogen for cooling, with only a single console at the very top, with a single catwalk going to the door in the wall. Harrison is now entirely in cyberspace, with his body being long buried. the cooling is required for him to not die since the amount of drones and androids connected to it. the drones and androids themselves are very industrial, with no ergonomic parts, revealing the mechanical parts. the drones look like normal drones, with four propellers, a rectangular head with required sensors, and small arms underneath for hauling cargo. the androids look differently, resembling a human, but have a head that is just a cluster of sensors, an exposed AI core since all of the androids have their own personality construct, and runner blades instead of normal feet, with a rig on the back that is designed for hauling multiple boxes. also, the HQ has a hidden hangar with bomber drones for defence, since there is an active war with rebels in the US and the company needs a way to protect it’s assets. also, the tower itself is more of a massive warehouse where the goods are shipped to, to be later picked up by either drones or androids for delivery. also, on the top of the tower are landing pads for two massive VTOL planes. the first is a massive cargo VTOL plane, designed for hauling packages across continents and hauling very large packages. and the second is a massive VTOL gunship, with four rocket pods loaded with 20 rockets each under the wings, four miniguns mounted on a ball turret underneath and two 120 mm recoilless rifles on each side. the gunship is designed to provide air support when somebody tries to raid the tower. also the tower itself isn’t singular, but is the largest. slightly smaller towers are located in each of the continents. one in east america, one in europe, one in asia, one (and most armored) in africa, and one in australia. Harrison himself is the AI in control of the massive net, capable of taking any of the androids or drones under control, also he is capable of hacking into almost any device and he has a high-standing position in Pentagon due to his support of the US military, providing them with drones and combat androids.

now, more about the world. most of the world was turned to desert, with very few green oases remaining, commonly near the coast since the water is mostly not polluted. the humanity is surviving in massive hive-cities, that were once normal cities, are now a massive megastructures of metal and concrete. people cannot leave the cities, and are banished from them if they commit a crime. the rich people live at the top of the cities ,with rooftop parks and all that, while the working class lives in the middle which is not all that bad. the poor and laborers live at the very bottom, in tight, smoke filled maintenance tunnels that are common places for gangs. the police is everywhere in the middle levels, but to be assigned to the lower levels is worse than being casted out, due to the high crime levels. the officers assigned to the bottom levels are commonly wearing a full body coat with build in armorplates, as well as a hood with a gasmask and yellow goggles, making their image unmistakable. the casualties on the lower levels are very high, of about 30 dead officers per day. but the police never runs out of officers since recruiting isn’t optional. you can be recruited even if you work as a normal office worker. also, the lower levels are commonly used as hideouts for rebel groups that aim to destroy the hive cities and ‘free’ the people, commonly attacking the megacorporations since they fund the building of these cities. also, at least one office of the three megacorporations is required on each level for the company to fund the building, making the presence of the corporations absolute.

the government is non-existing most of the times, with the cities being run either by corporations or elites. the only difference being the United States. US government is thriving, due to the patriotism of US citizens. also, the EU has united into one federation, and is the only continent that is still green. the rest of the world is mostly barren, toxic wastelands filled with raiders and rebels alike. to be in the wastes is like a death sentence. you either die from toxicity, raiders or starvation. of course, megacorporations being megacorporations, the ground in about 25 kilometer radius around the HQ of the corporations is still green, since they can allow it and have money for it. also, the workers in said corporations commonly live in the buildings around the HQ since the corporations doesn’t want their employees to be killed or robbed on every corner, which makes the corporations not all that bad. unfortunately, the countless rebel organizations constantly attack the offices, which only adds to the crime rate since the corporations also keep peace in the areas around the offices in the hive cities, living near one of the offices is basically like winning a lottery ticket.

now back to the corporations. each of the corporation has their high standing figures that are known inside said corporations. those being in Cryotech Inc: Jessica Cryter: a 24 years old francaise woman, born in wealthy family. she joined Cryotech when she was 18, right after collage and quickly got a high standing position. during one of the rebel raids, she risked her life to protect William, earning her a place as his right-hand woman. also, she is the security specialist, which makes her a diplomat, forcing her to go to meetings with other corporations and leaders of the cities to resolve conflicts.

J.E.B.B: J.E.B.B or just Jebb, is an assistant android resembling an anthropomorphic cat, approximately 1.5 meters tall, wearing blue coat, blue jeans, white shirt and blue cap. he always accompanies Jessica during her travel, being her trusted assistance. he is also trying to keep Jessica on schedule which proves difficult due to her playful demeanour, as she is either in a cafe, oversleeping or refusing to leave William’s side.

in Sunthorn’s Biotechnics: Elizabeth Asher: Jack’s ex girlfriend that still loves him. when a containment breach happened and one of the suspects escaped, she locked herself in a room full of Green Ichor, and not knowing what it is and being desperate, she drank it. during the next month her demeanour changed, from happy and cheerful woman, she turned cold and unfeeling. when her transformation finally happened, she nearly died, having an internal bleeding and her heart losing functionality. in the end, she transformed into an anthropomorphic bunny, with jet-black fur, long claws on the hands, and strong legs. she also acquired two more sets of eyes. with four eyes on her head and two on the ears. her ears are also constantly pointing backwards. the eyes on the normal place are just normal eyes but with black whites and pupils and crimson irises. the eyes above her eyebrows are capable of seeing in the pitch black darkness, and the eyes on her ears are capable of thermal vision. she rarely uses her extra eyes, only when she senses danger. she also has a black vest with a heart symbol, the vest a life support device.

Emily Pinkor: the lead researcher and also the third successful subject who was exposed to Green Ichor. she is 1.63 meters anthro sheep with pink fur. she is always optimistic and cheerful, her transformation being not so dramatic. she is also the lead in ethical department and a caretaker for Subject Alpha, the first ever test subject exposed to Green Ichor.

Subject Alpha: the first ever test subject. he once was a normal man, he and Jack were close friends. he employed as a janitor, to be close to Jack since he was secretly in love with Jack. unfortunately, the day when he was about to confess to Jack about his love towards Jack, he was forced as a test subject. his transformation was very painful, leaving scars all over his body. he is now resembling a anthro wolf with thick fur all over the body, making him look fluffy. but under the fluffy exterior is a killing machine. after the surgery, when he woke up he slaughtered the doctors, making his way to the top of the tower before being neutralized by security. now he is forever locked in a dark holding cell, angry at Jack for betraying him. he and Elizabeth also became somewhat of friend, with her sometimes visiting his cell and placing a hand on the bullet proof glass on the wall, with him doing the same from the other side.

In GDAL: Sanford: Harison’s AI assistant that helps him with maintaining the HQ, taking control of the repair bots. Sanford is excellent at navigating the maintenance tunnels that are actual labyrinth. but he is also a close friend of Harison, helping him take right decisions and sometimes take control of the delivery drones for Harison.

R.E.A.C.H.: Reach is another AI assistant, but Reach is the main operator of the combat drones and he processes all of the deliveries, either denying or confirming them, keeping an eye on the drones and androids, reporting any delays or package losses, and managing the production of new drones and androids. out of all three he is the most robotic. only taking logical decisions and preferring to speak in binary code since it’s ‘faster’ as he claims. also, Reach does not like human workers, thinking they are just a hindrance to the company.

now a bit more about the stuff of each of the corporations. in cryotech there are multiple security personnel types and multiple worker types: Workers: Freezers: workers that are maintaining the cryostasis pods and pod the humans or animals or plants in them, since it’s really difficult process, because the temperature needs to be low enough for the metalisms to stop but not low enough to kill the being, or high so the being doesn’t freeze properly and dies of old age. due to their stressful line of work, they rarely pay attention to anything else, being so focused on the task at hand. they always wear a blue bodysuit with snow flake on the back and a gasmask with thermal goggles on their heads.

Engineers: the engineers are the main work force in the production lines, monitoring the quality of the products and maintaining the assembly lines. commonly they are the most relaxed out of them all. wearing blue and orange bodysuit with a hardhat and a special goggles showing all of the required parameters of the products or machinery.

Office workers: they are just people that want a better life, managing the cryostasis pods and solving any customer issues.

Security Staff:

Security Officers: Security Officers are the lower rank of the security personnel, having lowest access and commonly resorting any violent incidents between employees. wearing a blue and white clothing with armorpanels as well as blue hood, black balaclava and blue skying goggles, carrying stun batton with them.

Armed Security: they are the lethal guards, ready to shoot at provocation. having higher access level and resolve any armed incidents, wearing same clothing as the normal security staff. armed with a pistol shooting hollow point rounds.

Cryotech Suppressors: a heavily armed and armored guards, carrying an HMG and having highest access, guarding William’s lab and quarters. will shoot when they see a person that doesn’t belong there without any questions, always suspicious and spend most of their free time in bars.

Cryotech Cutters: a cybernetically enhanced guards with blades in their forearms, designed as close combat units when somebody tries to intrude into the offices or HQ. they wear a blue coat with white armor plates on chest, upper arms and legs, as well as have completely uncovered head that is always fully cybernetic besides the brain, having white armor panel on the front lobe, lacking eyes, nose and ears as well as have a lipless maw with very sharp teeth in case their arms are broken. commonly spend comforting each other since they are forced to have the implants.

in Sunthorn’s Biotechnics, normal workers: Lab Workers: normal people, with rare cybernetic implants, they conduct most of the research.

Janitors: the most stressful since the experiments are always unpredictable and they are forced to clean in the holding cells from time to time. usually the janitors are people that desperately want safer conditions.

Handlers: handlers handle the test subjects and are commonly make a bond with the experiment, always being nice to the experiments and establishing friendship. sometimes incidents do happen, but only when the handler is aggressive or mean towards the subject.

Security staff:

none, since the megacorporation treats the subjects like normal people, except for very aggressive subjects. but the laboratories have turrets loaded with either sleeping gas, shockers, or rubber bullets in case of any containment breaches.

in GDAL the staff is almost zero, with only human engineers that check the machines once per month, and don’t have any dress code. the facilities are fully autonomous.
