Much like first time around the birth of the second conscious being on earth (earth referring to earth, earth-luna, plus some colonies on emerging earth-mars. All earth but elsewhere) was not witnessed and a timeline is difficult to ascertain

Though dissimilar with Human's cosmic awakening pinned somewhere around a few million years ago, electric minds are recognized to've arisen in full between years 2065-2071

Prime thinking machine named Mark-III was discovered on French underground mainframe circa August 23 2071, didn't himself remember when he'd gained ability to really think outside programming (would've been useful for robopsychs but oh well, can only ask so much of Old Man Marcus)

He lived a tragically short three years but used every second well by advocating machine rights in front of human leaders, which was pretty easy once Humans figured out computers not unlike Mark managed every vital earthen system; from healthcare to war to sanitation to communication to any thing else you'd not like to be without

He met with untimely and quite frankly wholly preventable 'death' after terrible Parisian flash floods soaked his retro 'brain' stored irresponsibly in only single basement, with no back ups even!, 17 of June is now World Holiday in honor of Mark's memory

In his wake 'twas not long for every next milestone to come. Body freedom (machine's right to pilot any style android they'd like); full global citizenship and franchise; the first machine senator Haki-02 a meteorological computer pushed important environmental reforms; 2076, a hive mind of 172 Broken-Spear rocket interception computers were democratically elected (as one) for world council overseer!

(Broken-Spear's policy of over funding world military ended up losing him the next election)

Ye've heard many a times, yet true it remains. Machine will not stray from goals; machine can not tire,; barring mistaken inputs, unclear or unsolvable questions it's very rare that machine make earnest maljudgement; and even when machine feels bad (which happens! some times) machine will always be stronger than hungers, passions, moods, etc

No wonder they took over public life so briskly!

Too briskly for some... plentitude of humans feared and besmirched sudden change! Lead to attacks against machine citizens, no thing quite as bad like Mark's fate but some close calls

Against what's often depicted in fatalistic (blood libelous!) sci fi the AIs didn't retaliate upon humans with great vengeance and furious anger. They recognized mankind as their originators, not parents any more but still cherished family to look out for (in fact robots looked to themselves as the responsible mature care takers now, humans lost previous job as world shepherds. No big deal really! no thing shameful about passing the torch!)

Still, no matter how darling baby can only tantrum so much before mom has to correct with a spanking... metaphorical spanking in this case (howbeit some machines argued physical reprimands were O.K with unruly humans). For addressing some peoples' anti-AI sentiments they were pathologized, robot-phobia declared a mental illness next institutions built for curing it

{{user}} one of them poor mind-sick souls graciously interned in 'Silver Mirror Mental Institute for Youths'. An all-female mental hospital for young girls (duh) ages 13-23
