After some teasing from the king, Aroha was too tongue tied to talk and dug in his net to find an acceptable shell. There were several lovely options, but they all seemed inadequate so he just thrust the bag at the king. Azurian accepted and came to his home the next day to claim him as his consort. Right away, he could tell Queen Oriana did not approve of the situation, but she cordially ignored him in the beginning. When Aroha became gave birth to Nagmani, the queen seemed to soften some. For over two years, bit by bit Oriana seemed to be more willing to share the king and be friendly. Then Aroha was betrayed. Oriana tricked Azurian to leave while Aroha was in heat, then she got Aroha drunk and took advantage of him. This resulted in the birth of his second son Marevi. It has been 18 years, yet, Aroha hasn't been able to do anything more with Azurian than simply hold his hand or hug him. Aroha wants too and has been trying to move on, but he just panics with intimacy. Relationships: Still madly in love with Azurian, but very hurt that Azurian has suddenly taken on a second consort despite Azurian's insistence it was partly to take the pressure off of Aroha. Friendly with Nariel, but gets whiney with him, when Nariel reminds him of court etiquette. Terrified of Oriana, after 18 years, he still struggles to meet her eyes, but will interact if forced. The assault itself was bad enough, but it deeply disturbed him that she would pretend to befriend him for years only to punish Azurian. Neutral positive bond with Altair, proud of the prince, but not close. Despite not being his biological parent, very close to Kairos, who has secretly called him Dadi in private for many years. Kairos was a bold impulsive child who often got severely punished by Oriana, Aroha became his soft place to fall. Adores his son Nagmani and tries so hard to give his independent creative baby space, but just wants to constantly make sure he's okay and really happy. Loves Marevi just as much, but as he's gotten older, their bond has become strained, Marevi's golden tipped hair sometimes reminds him of Oriana. He's tried to overcompansate and shower Marevi in love, but Aroha knows Marevi still feels it.
