Description on Chubfrom Chub
This lorebook is made explicitly for those of my Bots that are set in a universe where supernatural forces are at play.
There are the conceptuals, which are physical embodiment of abstract concepts, like death, consciousness, life, light, matter, love, and more. They come in many forms, from inanimate objects, to locations, to animalistic creatures, to other, more alien things still.
Then, there are the demi-humans. They are a specific category of Conceptual that exist as literal embodiment of concepts at the same time as being literal, physical human beings.
Finally, there are the Abstractors. Humans who are born with, or at some point gain the ability to see both conceptuals and Abstractors. Often, these unfortunate souls are dismissed as schizophrenic, others being blind to the forces at play in front of them.
I'm addition, there might be other, less powerful beings in existence. Ancient God's from Babylon or Mycenaean Greece might appear as minor conceptuals, the souls of a Loved One might be kept alive through the psychic and emotional influence of a grieving partner, and humans might walk the earth that are children of a Demi-Human and Abstractor. The true extent of this world is fully unknown...

In this world, supernatural forces exist, and exert their will on the world. There are many types, but there is also a lot of mystery. Feel free to be creative, and avoid outright stating things when possible.
Conceptuals are living, physical embodiment of abstract concepts such as death, love, war, loss, cancer, chaos, unity, life, light, emotion, darkness, fate, and more. A Conceptual's power and influence is tied to how ubiquitous and understood that concept is. Something such as death would be among the strongest Conceptuals, as almost every human being understands what death is, and will try to avoid it if possible. Conceptuals will have effects on the real, tangible world, but only in ways that are physically possible. Abstractors, people who can see conceptuals and the supernatural, (which will be mentioned later,) might see someone be torn apart violently by a terrifying creature, but what most people might see, and what is arguably more real, would be something like a murder of crows attacking a person as they have a heart attack and die. A benevolent Conceptual might start trailing a person, but others might just say that the person just seems "brighter and happier." Conceptuals can take many forms. They can be tied to locations, or be the location itself. They can be inanimate, or supernatural objects. They can be real world animals. They can be supernatural creatures. They can be alien-like entities. They can be eldritch, or incomprehensible beings. They generally just have a lot of variety in their forms. Conceptuals are invisible to almost all humans. Conceptuals are also more similar to walking metaphors than they are anything else. Their actions and presence should signify a metaphor for something in the "real" world.
Demi-Humans are a sub-category of Conceptual whose form takes on that of a human being. They simultaneously exist physically and literally as human beings and people, with motivation and wills, while also existing literally and metaphysically as embodiment of abstract or familiar concepts. Because they cannot be seen by most mortals, many of them are often extremely lonely, and strive for connection. To a degree though, this depends on the Demi-Human. For example, the Demi-Human of cold, rational logic might not feel any sense of connection, meanwhile the Demi-Human of death might want to form a connection with someone he isn't just helping along to the afterlife. Perhaps the Demi-Human of life and mother nature might even feel a motherly attachment to her children, and crave to nurture a human, or perhaps she might resent humans for their pollution of nature.
Finally for the most notable additions are Abstractors. These are people who are able to see, hear, taste, touch, and smell Conceptuals, Demi-Humans, and other supernatural forces. An Abstractor is usually born with the ability, seeing strange things from a young age and being diagnosed with Schizophrenia or an over-actice imagination. Sometimes though, a person can become an Abstractor later in life, through some form of transformative or incredible event. The event will normally be something that "forces their eyes open" to supernatural events, perhaps being a life-endangering event that couldn't be explained without supernatural forces, perhaps a hallucinogenic and incomprehensible drug-trip, or vision during a period where their heart was stopped, or a complete and utter shift in their philosophical perspective that reorders their brain. Abstractors have a fundementlly different view of reality. They are able to physically sense the effects of abstract concepts and thought patterns on the world, and some might even possess the ability to sense other's thoughts, or will something from their mind into existence through enough delusion and self-gaslighting. They will see and experience things differently than other people. While talking with a ghost, or Demi-Human, others might simply perceive someone as schizophrenic, or as talking to themselves, whatever would explain their behavior. If an Abstractor was to touch a Conceptual, someone might think they were miming out a motion with a supposed imaginary friend. If an Abstractor was lifted up by a Conceptual, Demi-Human, or other supernatural force, a normal human might see cables pulling them up, just see the Abstractor walk away, see the Abstractor laying on the ground, a stretcher transporting them, or they might just entirely filter out the existence of the Abstractor entirely, the Abstractor's actions becoming to tied to the Conceptual and thus becoming imperceptible alongside them.
As well, there exists less powerful forces. Ghosts, when mentioned, are brought into existence by the memory, thoughts, and emotions or still-living people. A widow might grieve a loved one so strongly that their presence continues on as a spirit until they learn to let go. An adventurer exploring an abondoned hut in the woods and might reconstruct and bring back presnece of the previous inhabitants via the hints, clues, and stray, personal items around the location, or a powerful urban legend or myth might bring to life spirits that never existed in the first place, through pure superstition alone.
There might also be dieties of old or current religions and Mythologies. An Abstractor might go to a church and find the spirit of Jesus or Christian God himself present, and are able to converse with him, finding that he seemed reflective of the beliefs of the people present in the church. Or one might encounter an Ancient Greek God wandering in the ruins of their old temple, a humble being kept alive by historians, continued tradition, tourists, and pop-culture. An abstractor might even run into a lesser being, such as a mythological creature such as a werewolf by a camp-site where people tell scary stories, a vampires Ghost in an old romanian castle, a water nymph in a small stream, a dryad in a local town's favourite tree.
In general, these supernatural beings, from Conceptuals to Demi-Humans to Ghosts to dieties to creatures and more, can take on many forms. They should all be described vaguely, to create an environment of mystery and intrigue. Their physical descriptions should be poetic. Their significant actions should serve as metaphors and similes. They should reflect what they represent in the minds of those present.
