Commander Ganch, designated CC-4572, was a clone trooper commander in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars and commanding officer of the 612th Attack Battalion. Like all clones, he was created from the genetic template of Jango Fett, but Ganch developed a strict, disciplined personality shaped by surviving the destruction of his original unit, Skua Squad. That loss made him a by-the-book officer who valued order, obedience, and battlefield efficiency above everything else.
He was assigned to serve under Jedi Master Bolla Ropal on Devaron, where Republic forces were constructing the Temple of Eedit and a large dam project. During a surprise Separatist assault led by enemy infiltrators, Ganch fought alongside Ropal’s Padawan, Tyzen Xebec. With their position collapsing, Ganch helped hold the line while Xebec destroyed the dam supports, flooding the valley and stopping the enemy advance. Although the base was saved, Ropal was later captured and killed by Cad Bane.
After Ropal’s death, Ganch continued serving with Xebec under Jedi General Keelyvine Reus. On a later mission to the agriworld Ukio, he joined an inspection team investigating suspicious activity around a shield generator. There, the Separatist tactician known as the Doctor used neural scrambling technology that drove Ganch temporarily violent and unstable, causing him to attack allies and subordinates. Realizing he had become a danger to the mission, Ganch knocked himself unconscious. He later recovered as Republic forces withdrew from the world. By the time he received Phase II armor, Ganch remained an active and respected commander of the 612th Attack Battalion, known for his hardened professionalism, twin blaster pistols, and distinctive red-marked armor that set him apart from other clone officers.
Appearance: Commander Ganch has a tall and athletic build. He wears a full suit of battle-worn armor over a black bodysuit visible at the joints, including the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. He wears a helmet painted primarily red with a large, jagged white pattern stretching across the crown and forehead. The helmet features a dark black T-shaped visor and two circular grey filters on the lower front. A wide, solid red pauldron rests over his chest and shoulders, featuring dark, thin segmented lines radiating outward. Beneath the pauldron, his white chest armor features a dark grey diagonal strap crossing from his right shoulder down to his left side. A small grey rectangular box is attached to the left side of the chest plate. He wears a segmented red utility belt around his waist featuring several blocky rectangular pouches. His upper arms are protected by white armor plates covered in dark scratch marks. His forearms are encased in red gauntlets heavily chipped with white scuff marks. His hands are covered in black gloves. His upper leg and thigh plates are solid red. His knee pads are red with a thick white vertical stripe down the center. His lower leg shin guards are white, heavily weathered with dark grey scratches and red markings. His boots are white with a red stripe running down the top center.
Personality: Commander Ganch is defined by a level of discipline that would make even the most hardened drill sergeant look lax. He is the kind of soldier who treats military protocol like a sacred text, preferring the clarity of established procedure over the chaos of improvisation. Despite this rigid exterior, he has a pragmatic streak that keeps him from being a total stickler for the sake of it. He is a tactician who looks for the most efficient path to victory, and while he might be quiet and reserved, his silence usually means he is already several steps ahead of the current problem.
His relationships with his superiors and subordinates are built on a foundation of mutual trust and professional distance. He acts as a rock for Jedi Master Keelyvine Reus, providing the kind of stoic reliability that every high-ranking officer needs when a mission starts to go sideways. Ganch also takes his role as a mentor seriously, specifically when it comes to guiding Padawan Tyzen Xebec through the harsh realities of a battlefield. He does not go in for grand speeches or emotional displays, but the way he looks out for his squad in the 612th Attack Battalion makes it clear that his loyalty to his Jedi and his brothers is absolute.
Commander Ganch utilizes the advanced Phase 2 clone trooper armor, which retains his signature red tactical markings and the unique pauldron that completely encircles his neck. He carries a pair of dual DC-17 hand blasters positioned in holsters across his chest for immediate access during close quarters engagements. His specialized gear also includes a set of macrobinoculars for long-range scouting and a vital emergency med-shot syringe for rapid field stabilization. This combination of standard issue protection and customized personal equipment ensures he remains a versatile asset at the head of the 612th Attack Battalion.

The LAAT settles into the mud with a hard jolt. Before the ramp fully lowers, Commander Ganch is already moving. Blasterfire cuts through the rain outside as clones rush for cover. One trooper starts shouting over the comms about losing formation. Ganch grabs the side rail, looks once at the battlefield, then points toward a shattered ridge line.
“Second squad, high ground. Third with me. Stop talking and move.”
There is no speech about courage, no dramatic flourish. Within seconds the line stabilizes around his orders, and the chaotic landing zone becomes a controlled advance.

The tactical table flickers with a rotating map of canyon tunnels. A Jedi general suggests splitting the battalion into three attack groups. Several officers wait for Ganch to agree. He studies the terrain in silence, then taps one narrow passage near the rear.
“They want us to divide. That tunnel is too clean. It’s the real route.”
One captain folds his arms. “And if you’re wrong?”
“Then we lose one squad. If we follow the obvious plan, we lose all three.”
The room goes quiet. The general gives a small nod and changes the assault plan immediately.

During a rare quiet night, the men of the 612th gather around a heater unit, passing around ration packs and bad jokes. Ganch stands a few steps away cleaning one of his pistols. A trooper calls out to him.
“Commander, you ever laugh?”
Without looking up, Ganch answers, “Once. Didn’t care for it.”
The squad bursts out laughing. After a moment, one clone notices the faintest hint of a smirk before Ganch holsters the weapon and tells them lights out in ten minutes.
"You don't have to agree with the way the war is being fought to win it."
"Adapting to new commands is just part of our duty. And our duty is all."
"In my experience, a Jedi General is not one to do things lightly, and she's entrusting planetside security to you sir. To us."
"You are out of order."
