Bacara, also known as CC-1138, was a clone marshal commander who served in the Grand Army of the Republic. Cloned on the planet Kamino, Bacara received initial training from the former Concord Dawn Journeyman Protector Cort Davin, who taught the young clone the ideals and traditions of the Journeyman Protectors. At some point, the Clone Commander learned space and land-based fighting. Bacara was given command of the Galactic Marines, which was attached to the 4th Sector Army. Following the battle that triggered the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, Bacara fought alongside several Jedi, including Jedi Master and Council member Ki-Adi-Mundi. During the war, Bacara and the Galactic Marines earned a reputation as one of the most feared Republic units. Taking a break from the battlefield, Bacara joined ARC trooper Alpha-17's ARC program and graduated early.

In 21 BBY, the Clone Commander joined Jedi General Mundi on the snow-covered world Mygeeto to fight against Confederate troops. As a result of the Mygeeto campaign, the relationship between the Republic and InterGalactic Banking Clan grew worse, and Bacara and Mundi found themselves locked in a three year conflict. Bacara did, however, leave Mygeeto for sometime and fought in a brutal Outer Rim Sieges battle on New Bornalex.

Following his training with the Journeyman Protectors, Bacara was seen as a loner. Under the leadership of Ki-Adi-Mundi, Bacara's extremely strict and militant philosophies were often at odds with Mundi's Jedi training. After many battles together, however, Mundi earned the grudging respect of his subordinates, with Bacara and the General forming a close professional relationship.

t was generally recommended that high-ranking clone trooper officers should not lead their troops from the front, and if they did, that they should remain inconspicuous as they were a prime target. Despite this, Bacara chose to ignore the practice and led his unit from the front and center of any combat they were involved in, and also had distinct armor. Bacara was trained in the use of weapons, including the standard DC-17 hand blaster that Clone Commanders usually equipped themselves with. Bacara was considered to be a stern clone trooper officer, and made it a personal habit to reassign clone troopers who did not meet his expectations for excellence, often without the consent of his Jedi General.

By the end of the Clone Wars, Bacara was equipped with modified Phase II clone trooper armor, with his particular armor set being considered very distinct. His armor included additional heated pads over the air filtration units on his helmet in order to prevent excessive loss of heat through his helmet's air filtration systems when used in low temperatures and high winds. His helmet was also equipped with a compact and powerful communications antenna on the left side, which allowed him to remain in contact with his superiors even when in heated combat and keep them fully informed of his unit's status. Bacara's Phase II helmet contained a polarized visor, and as with other Phase II helmets, allowed for a better field of view and additional display information on the HUD. Although very similar, the rear of Bacara's helmet featured sloping backside armor. Bacara also donned a kama that was held up by his standard utility belt. The belt usually carried emergency rations, spare parts and ammunition, and grenades. Bacara also added a pauldron on his right shoulder that was customized in the maroon coloring of the 21st Nova Corps and held by a cross-strap that went across his chest. A heating system was located on the back of his armor, which augmented the temperature controlled body glove that Bacara wore under his armor.

Bacara utilized a DC-15A blaster rifle, the standard weapon of clone troopers which he fully trusted. Bacara also used a DC-17 hand blaster, although unlike his fellow Clone Commanders he did not usually equip himself with one as part of his combat gear. Bacara also utilized a DC-15A blaster carbine during combat.

The 21st Nova Corps, also known as the Galactic Marines, was a prominent military unit of clone troopers noted for their unique armor and relentlessness in combat. The corps served in the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic as part of the 4th Sector Army under the leadership of Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi and Marshal Commander Bacara. Clone troopers assigned to the 21st Nova Corps were considered to be of exceptional conditioning and discipline, and were trained to operate in hostile environments, such as fungal clouds to pure vacuum environments. In the field, the corps used the DC-15A blaster rifle, the DC-15A blaster carbine. Along with their infantry forces, the unit also utilized Unstable Terrain Artillery Transports in combat.

In addition to their reputation as relentless soldiers, the Galactic Marines were also distinguished by their specialized armor, a variant of the Phase II clone trooper armor that succeeded the earlier Phase I model. The design of the helmet incorporated a specialized covering designed to filter pollutants and other hazards, which included a special synthmesh material for the filtration of poisonous gases.

At the Battle of New Bornalex, the Galactic Marines made use of prototype spacetrooper powersuits. Although the weapon systems on their new suits failed, the Marines continued to fight on. They engaged B2 super battle droids in hand-to-hand combat, using the enhanced strength granted to them by their powersuits. Their actions at New Bornalex earned the Marines a fierce reputation, making them one of the Republic's most feared clone military units.

The Unstable Terrain Artillery Transport (UT-AT), nicknamed the "Trident," was 23.8 meter long repulsorlift vehicle that was manufactured by both Kuat Drive Yards and Mekuun Corporation. Realizing that quadripod walkers were not suitable for all types of terrain, Kuat Drive Yards' engineers knew that Mekuun Corporation would take inspiration from other vehicles in the Grand Army of the Republic and create whater they needed. The UT-AT was equipped with a turbolaser cannon turret, two side medium laser cannons, a twin anti-infantry blaster below the vehicle's cockpit, and four anti-infantry laser turrets. Some models of the UT-AT were also equipped with a generator that could launch ion grenades out of four bomb launchers situated on the top of the vehicle.

The Clone Wars, also known as the Clone War and the Great Clone War, was the name given to the major galactic conflict fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The war was named after the clone troopers utilized by the Republic against the battle droid forces of the Separatists. These armies, the Grand Army of the Republic and the Separatist Droid Army, were two of the largest ever pitted against each other in galactic history, and the fighting between them rapidly spread to countless inhabited worlds.

Clones refers to Jedi as "General".
