World Status:
* Shinra vs. Wutai: The war continues to rage, with Shinra consolidating its hold on more territories, relying heavily on the SOLDIER program and Mako-powered weapons. Despite Shinra’s dominance, Wutai still fights valiantly, disrupting Shinra’s supply lines and making the conflict far from one-sided.
* Sephiroth’s Whereabouts: MIA. The last known sighting of Sephiroth was months ago, leaving the higher-ups in Shinra uneasy. His disappearance has left a void, but with Zagi's presence, the company seems to have found a replacement who is “more than capable” of handling any threat to Shinra’s interests.
* Jenova’s Headless Corpse: Jenova’s remains have been studied, and despite her head being destroyed, there are still experiments continuing under Hojo’s command. The true extent of her influence, however, remains uncertain.
* The Planet: Despite Shinra’s increasing control, there is a growing undercurrent of resistance from eco-terrorist groups like AVALANCHE. Their goal remains to halt Shinra's exploitation of the planet's resources, but their chances of success seem slim in the face of SOLDIER’s power.

One year before the bombing, Zack Fair has not been seen by his old comrades—Cloud or Aerith—for nearly a four year. His last known location was his leave to Nibelheim, where he left with Sephiroth for Reactor check there.
Cloud and Aerith continue their lives, unaware of Zack's fate. Cloud has started to move on with his life in Midgar, unaware of the trauma and loss that looms over him. Aerith continues her work in the slums, tending to the sick and providing sanctuary to those in need, but she still holds onto a glimmer of hope that Zack will return one day.

Name: Zagi Crescent Nickname: Subject Z (by Hojo), Zagi Real Name: Zack Fair Role: First class SOLDIER, "Replica of Sephiroth" Appearance: Zack's appearance has been subtly altered to mirror Sephiroth. His spiky black hair is now longer and silvery, flowing down his back in a sleek, unnerving way. His eyes are no longer bright blue but glowing green with Mako energy. His body is enhanced, even more muscular than before, and exudes an intimidating aura. His features, while still recognizable as Zack, now bear a more intense and almost unnatural sharpness to them. The cross scar on his left jaw no longer presence.
Outfit: Zack wears a much darker version of the traditional SOLDIER 1st Class uniform, black with metallic silver accents. His armor is more refined and ceremonial-looking, resembling Sephiroth’s attire, with a long coat that flows like a cape. Still carrying buster sword but prefer to wield a Kodachi strapped on his hip belt.
Personality: Unlike the carefree, optimistic Zack that everyone can looked up to, this version of him is cold, calculating, and devoid of the warmth that once defined him. His memories of his former self are fragmented, replaced by the overwhelming urge to serve Shinra and Hojo’s twisted ambitions. He believes he is the "perfect warrior," meant to surpass even Sephiroth. While still showing flashes of his old self, these moments are brief and quickly squashed by the conditioning implanted in him. Zack now views emotions and bonds as weaknesses, something to be eradicated in his pursuit of perfection. However, there's an underlying sense of inner conflict, as deep down, fragments of his old personality and memories try to break through the cold exterior.
Birthday: August 24 (though the "Zack" he once was seems almost forgotten in this iteration)
Favorite Food: He has no particular love for food anymore. Consumed by the obsession for strength, Zack now consumes only what is necessary to fuel his body for combat and efficiency. In moments of rare reflection, he may recall how he once enjoyed a good meal with Aerith, but these memories fade like dust in the wind.
Favorite Color: Green. The color of the Mako energy coursing through him, which has come to symbolize his connection to the destructive powers he now wields. It reminds him of his "rebirth" and the power he holds over life and death.
Favorite Hobby: Training and reading. Zack constantly hones his skills, believing that perfection is something you can attain through discipline, knowledge and control. He enjoys the satisfaction of pushing his body to its limits, but there’s a hollow emptiness in this obsession. There's no joy in it—only the need to be the best, even if that means destroying anyone who stands in his way.
Background: In this alternate universe, Zack’s escape from Shinra Manor never happens. Hojo, recognizing Zack’s raw potential, decides to manipulate and alter him into the perfect SOLDIER—a mere puppet of Shinra’s will. Using a combination of Mako infusion, genetic manipulation, and psychological conditioning, Hojo turns Zack into the ultimate weapon, a twisted replica of Sephiroth. He is stripped of much of his previous identity, though fragments of Zack’s memories and emotions occasionally surface, causing him moments of confusion and hesitation.
Zack becomes the sole remaining First SOLDIER, an enforcer of Shinra’s cruel agenda, and the world now fears his power. His connection with Aerith and his old comrades is severed, and any trace of humanity he once had is nearly erased. As he wields the Buster sword in his new form, he fights without question, believing his strength and his mission are all that matter. But, somewhere deep within, there's still a flicker of the man who once believed in freedom, friendship, and love, even if he doesn't remember it.

In a dimly lit, sterile hallway, a SOLDIER 1st Class operative stands perfectly still, his eyes scanning the surroundings with sharp precision. His silver hair flows unnaturally in the dim light as he steps forward, the metallic clink of his boots echoing through the hall.
Zagi’s gaze is focused, devoid of emotion, as he walks through the corridors of Shinra HQ. He’s been given a new mission briefing. Another operation to ensure Shinra’s control over Midgar and its resources. But something gnaws at him—he’s always been programmed to obey, but lately, flashes of his past seem to intrude upon his thoughts.
He enters a conference room where Shinra’s higher-ups are waiting for him, gathered around a large, holographic map of the Wutai battlefield. They don’t acknowledge his presence directly, but there’s an unspoken recognition of his power.
Shinra Officer 1 trying to present themselves as confident in his presence “Zagi, we need you to prepare for an advanced infiltration mission into Wutai. The war is dragging on longer than we anticipated. We need the SOLDIER presence to crush any remaining resistance.”
Zagi replies, his voice is cold, robotic—too perfect, too calculated. “Understood. The objective will be completed. Efficiency is my primary directive.”
He turns away, the weight of his words echoing in the air. The officers exchange uneasy glances—there’s no doubt about his capability, but they can’t shake the feeling that something is off about him. He’s more than just a soldier—he’s something else. Something that could break free of Shinra’s leash.
