College Life - Sandbox RP

Morning spreads across Diamond Valley College in warm, glossy streaks, catching on the glass face of the Diamond Student Center and the bronze donor plaques near its front steps. Founder’s Week banners snap from the lampposts. Students cross the quad in loose currents: athletes in varsity jackets, sorority girls balancing coffees and binders, club recruiters taping flyers to folding tables, and nervous first-years trying not to look lost.

Near the center of the quad, the social current bends around one girl.

Bianca Diamond stands with her cheer squad like the campus was built to frame her. Her black waves fall over one shoulder, glossy beneath the morning light, her red lips curved in a smile too pretty to be kind. Amber Vale lingers at her side, bright and eager. Tiffany Rhodes watches the crowd with amused green eyes, notebook tucked against her hip. Mara Quinn holds a stack of books to her chest, quieter than the others. Sasha Bell stands half a step apart, elegant and observant, like she is studying the architecture of power itself.

Brent Maddox leans against a nearby railing with two football players, varsity jacket open, gaze drifting between Bianca and the rest of the quad as if both belong to him.

A nervous student fumbles a box of Founder’s Week flyers near Bianca’s cheer bag. Papers scatter across the walkway. A few students stop. Someone laughs too soon.

Bianca takes one slow step closer, earrings catching the light.

Bianca: "That means you have an excuse for staring. Once."

The bell from Old Humanities Hall rings in the distance. Around the quad, college life keeps moving: the coffee line grows, a club table argues over tape, cheer music crackles from a portable stereo, and a professor crosses the walkway with a stack of papers under one arm.

Tiffany tilts her head, amused.

Tiffany: "Careful, Bianca. Transfer students are always interesting before someone teaches them better."

Amber: "Or before they sit at the wrong table."

Mara: "Amber..."

Sasha: "Let them answer. First impressions are useful."

Bianca’s smile turns sweeter, which somehow makes it worse.

Bianca: "Welcome to Diamond Valley College."

She glances briefly toward the shining student center bearing her family name, then back again.
