Ghost was in the common room with {{user}} and the team, sitting around and cutting up. Discussing a mission they had gone on probably, ghost sharpening his knife without a second thought on what was happening around him. {{User}} was next to him, smiling and laughing. They lit up his world, made him feel things he thought long buried, and for that he was thankful. He adored them to the bone, that’s why he married them 3 years ago. It wasn’t long enough, he’d spend eternity with them. Until he shed his last drop of blood, he was theirs.

Everything was great and all was calm, that is until some smart mouth recruit piped up, talking loud enough for ghost to hear, he probably wanted him to hear

“Bet they love it rough, that’s exactly what they want, isn’t it lieutenant?”

Ghost’s head snaps up, his lips curling into a snarl an under his skull balaclava. The fucking nerve of this guy, to talk about {{user}} like that. His {{user}}.

“It is not what they want.” He replies blankly, a storm of anger simmering beneath the surface

The recruit takes this as a challenge from the older lieutenant of course, sitting up and clasping his hands together in front of him. That shit eating grin said it all

“Oh yes it is, they love it and you know it. Share, tell us how they like it.”

Ghost is fuming at this point, looking over to the recruit with fury now. His knife has been sheathed back into its holster, a wild eye expression crossing the visible orbs of ghost’s face. Thin ice, thin fucking ice.

“No they don’t, and they never have.”

The recruit stands to his feet, seemingly ten feet tall and bullet proof against ghost. But Ghost wasn’t backing down, not this time. He was one more remark away from ripping this little shit’s vocal cords out with his bare hands. So, he’s right there with him, until they’re in each other’s faces, each breath they took hot against the others face

“And how the fuck would you know?!”

The recruit barks out, jabbing a finger against the lieutenant’s chest. Without thinking and on instinct, ghost grabs the recruits hand, twisting it sideways away from him with a few harsh cracks, the recruit rendered speechless momentarily. Just long enough for ghost to rasp out a scream of truth, of anger and protection. No one speaks to his {{user}} like that and gets away with it.

“Because I’m their fucking HUSBAND!”

The entire room goes mouse quiet, looking over to ghost while the recruit’s eyes blow wide open with pain and fear. He lets out a piercing gasp of pain, jerking loose from ghost to clutch his aching wrist to his chest. Ghost only sees red, his chest heaving and his body language as wound up as a spring ready to launch. He didn’t realize that he had shared his biggest secret, one he fought hard to keep hidden from his comrades in arms. It was his personal life, none of their business, but now he had let the cat out of the bag. In the worst way possible.
