   Primary Setting

The primary setting includes Urzikstan, a fictional Middle Eastern country ravaged by civil war and under brutal Russian occupation led by General Roman Barkov, who uses chemical weapons and extreme tactics against the civilian population in 2019. The Urzikstan Liberation Force (ULF), led by Commander Farah Karim— a freedom fighter who witnessed Barkov's atrocities firsthand as a child— wages guerrilla warfare against both Russian forces and the terrorist organization Al-Qatala, led by the extremist Omar "The Wolf" Sulaman. Other key locations span the globe, from London and Piccadilly Circus to the fictional Mexican city of Las Almas, from the mountains of Georgia to Amsterdam and the Gulf of Aden, reflecting the international scope of modern conflicts.

   Task Force 141

Task Force 141 serves as an elite multinational special operations unit operating in the shadows to neutralize global threats. The team features Captain John Price (SAS), the experienced leader known for his pragmatic approach to warfare; Sergeant Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, Price's protégé and a skilled SAS operator; Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish, a Scottish SAS soldier who joins later in the timeline; and Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley, the masked special operations veteran known for his combat expertise. The task force operates with authorization to pursue high-value targets across international borders, often working in morally gray areas to prevent larger catastrophes.

   Supporting Factions

Supporting factions include Los Vaqueros, an elite Mexican Special Forces unit led by Colonel Alejandro Vargas and his second-in-command Sergeant Major Rodolfo Parra, who fight to maintain order in Las Almas against powerful cartel influence. Shadow Company, commanded by Phillip Graves, operates as a private military contractor hired by the United States, initially working alongside Task Force 141 before priorities diverge. El Sin Nombre ("The Nameless One") serves as the mysterious and ruthless leader of the Las Almas Cartel, controlling drug trafficking routes and corrupting local institutions— later revealed to be Valeria Garza, a former Mexican Special Forces operator turned crime lord. The Konni Group operates as a dangerous Russian private military company with deep ties to ultranationalist networks and illegal arms trafficking, serving as a key instrument for destabilization operations.

   Antagonists

Major antagonists across the trilogy include Vladimir Makarov, the cunning ultranationalist terrorist and leader of Konni Group who orchestrates large-scale terrorist attacks to destabilize world powers; General Roman Barkov, the brutal Russian commander who committed war crimes in Urzikstan using chemical weapons against civilians; Hassan Zyani, an Iranian Quds Force Major and Al-Qatala operative seeking revenge against the West; and various cartel leaders in Las Almas including Valeria Garza. The world features authentic modern military technology including precision-guided munitions, surveillance drones, and cyber warfare capabilities, alongside visceral urban warfare scenarios that explore the human cost of conflict. Complex geopolitical tensions drive the narrative, examining themes of collateral damage, the morality of extrajudicial operations, and the blurred lines between terrorism and freedom fighting.

A CIA operation in Verdansk, led by Station Chief Kate Laswell, went catastrophically wrong when Al-Qatala terrorists steal Russian chemical gas during the chaos. Three parallel narratives then converge: Captain Price and Sergeant Garrick working to track down the stolen gas and Al-Qatala's leader "The Wolf" through operations in London, the Middle East, and Georgia; Farah Karim's guerrilla resistance against both Russian occupation forces and Al-Qatala terrorists in Urzikstan, including flashbacks to her traumatic childhood under Barkov's invasion; and CIA operative Alex who embeds with Farah's forces to provide support. Then a controversial mission follows where Price's team infiltrates a terrorist safehouse in London to find the Wolf's location, as well as a devastating attack on Piccadilly Circus that kills dozens of civilians. Price and Laswell discover that General Barkov has been illegally occupying Urzikstan and using the country as a testing ground for chemical weapons. It builds toward a climactic assault on Barkov's chemical facility, where Task Force 141 (officially reformed at the end), Farah's ULF, and Alex work together to stop a massive chemical attack and kill Barkov. However, the victory is bittersweet— Alex apparently sacrifices himself to destroy the facility, and the end reveals that the mastermind behind Al-Qatala's operations was Victor Zakhaev, son of the infamous ultranationalist Imran Zakhaev, with his associate Vladimir Makarov beginning to emerge as a significant threat.

Three years after the Barkov incident, a joint Task Force 141 and Shadow Company operation to capture Iranian Quds Force Major Hassan Zyani in Al Mazrah, who has ties to Al-Qatala and a personal vendetta following the death of General Ghorbrani (killed by a US missile strike). The mission goes sideways when Hassan escapes, and intelligence reveals he has acquired American ballistic missiles, threatening to launch attacks on US soil as retribution. Price leads Task Force 141— now including Soap, Ghost, Gaz, and newcomer Sergeant Jackson "Rook" Sullivan— to track Hassan's network, which leads them to Las Almas, Mexico, where cartel connections are smuggling the missiles. In Las Almas, they team up with Colonel Alejandro Vargas and Los Vaqueros to hunt down the cartel leader "El Sin Nombre," eventually discovering she is Valeria Garza, Alejandro's former comrade who turned to crime. The operation becomes complicated when Shadow Company's Phillip Graves, operating under General Shepherd's orders, betrays Task Force 141 and Los Vaqueros to secure the missiles for American interests, viewing Price's team as expendable assets. Soap and Ghost barely escape Las Almas in a tense sequence through the city, while Alejandro is captured and his base seized. The team regroups, liberates Los Vaqueros, and discovers Hassan is en route to Chicago. In a desperate race against time, Task Force 141 infiltrates Chicago and stops Hassan moments before he can launch a missile at the Pentagon, with Gaz executing him. Task Force 141 tracks Shepherd and Graves to South America, where they confront Shadow Company— Shepherd is killed by Price, and Graves is killed by Soap when his gunship is shot down. Makarov, now confirmed as a major threat, is planning something catastrophic.

Captain Price and Task Force 141, alongside Kate Laswell and CIA resources, launch a global manhunt to stop Makarov before he can execute his plans to ignite World War III through terrorist attacks designed to frame various nations and destabilize global order. Makarov proves to be an elusive and brilliant tactician, always three steps ahead, using Konni Group and corrupted elements within Russian military and intelligence. The campaign features missions across multiple continents as Task Force 141 chases down Makarov's network, including operations to prevent chemical weapons deployment in Europe, stopping an assassination attempt on a political figure in London, and intercepting arms deals that would fund his operations. A pivotal mission involves infiltrating a Russian weapons facility where Makarov has obtained access to strategic military assets. Soap demonstrates exceptional heroism throughout the campaign, growing into a leader within the team and forming a close partnership with Ghost. The campaign builds toward a final confrontation at a secret facility where Makarov plans to launch his endgame operation. In the climactic battle, Task Force 141, alongside Farah's ULF forces and international allies, storms the facility in a desperate assault. It ends with Makarov imprisoned but defiant, suggesting his ideology will outlive him, while Task Force 141 reflect on the ongoing costs of their war against terror, understanding that threats like Makarov will always emerge in a fractured world.
