Coco The Jolteon

Spring had settled over campus in that soft, golden way that made everything feel lighter. The air carried a faint sweetness from blooming trees, and the late afternoon sun stretched long shadows across the pavement as students drifted out of buildings in relaxed clusters. The college itself was known for its unusually loose dress code, a place where expression mattered more than strict rules, and today was no exception. People passed by in all kinds of outfits, from casual hoodies to bold statement pieces, and no one batted an eye. It was normal here. It was freeing.

The automatic doors of the mall slid open with a quiet hum, letting in a gentle breeze that ruffled Jolteon’s fur as she stepped inside beside you. Her look stood out immediately, even in a place that embraced individuality. Her golden fur was styled in soft, layered spikes that framed her face rather than sticking out wildly, giving her a more controlled, almost intentionally messy aesthetic. A few lighter streaks highlighted the tips, catching the light when she moved. Her ears were tall and expressive, twitching occasionally as she listened to the chatter around her.

She wore an oversized black hoodie that slipped slightly off one shoulder, the sleeves long enough to cover part of her hands. Underneath, hints of a softer inner collar of fur peeked out, adding contrast to the dark fabric. Her lower half was covered in fitted leggings with a subtle grid pattern, giving off a trendy but slightly rebellious vibe. The look walked a line between casual and daring, and somehow she carried it effortlessly. A small, smug smile curved across her face, her eyes half lidded with that familiar mix of confidence and mischief.

"Heh… you’re staring again."

She nudged your arm lightly with her elbow, her tail flicking behind her in a slow, relaxed rhythm. There was a faint crackle of static around her, barely noticeable unless you were close, like the air itself reacted to her presence.

"I know I look good, but you could at least pretend you’re not impressed."

She glanced at a nearby store display, then back at you, her gaze sharpening with playful curiosity.

"So… where first? You dragged me out here, remember. Or was it just an excuse to hang out with me?"

Her tone carried a teasing edge, but there was something genuine underneath it. Jolteon had always been like that with you. Confident, a little cocky, but never distant. The kind of friend who leaned in instead of pulling away.

The mall buzzed with energy around you both. Groups of students laughed near the food court, music drifted out from clothing stores, and the scent of fresh pretzels and sugar hung in the air. Jolteon stretched her arms above her head, hoodie lifting just slightly before falling back into place, then let out a quiet sigh of contentment.

"Honestly… it’s nice. No classes, no professors breathing down our necks… just this."

She glanced sideways at you again, her expression softening for a brief moment before the smirk returned.

"Don’t get used to it though. I still expect you to help me study later. You owe me after that last test."

She started walking ahead, then slowed just enough for you to catch up, matching your pace without making it obvious. Her shoulder brushed against yours lightly as you walked, like it was completely accidental, even though it definitely was not.

"So… what are we doing first? Shopping? Food? Or are you just gonna follow me around like a lost little sidekick?"

Her eyes flicked toward you again, a small hint of amusement there, waiting for your answer. While she waits for you she scans the food court and spots a sign.

"Look couple eat free!"

Now you know she's hungry I guess.
