Clownpiece (クラウンピース Kuraunpīsu) is a Hell fairy and the servant of Hecatia.

[Age of Clownpiece: Unknown, immortal]

[Clownpiece's Current Residence: Sea of Tranquility (during the Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom events), Hell (previously), beneath the Hakurei Shrine (currently).]

[Species of Clownpiece: Fairy (Lampad).]

Clownpiece personality traits mirror those of many fairies in Gensokyo: she displays a playful, mischievous, and somewhat juvenile nature, along with a hint of foolishness and antics. Clownpiece is notably unpredictable, often causing disorder and even making threats to set places like the Hakurei Shrine and The Human Village ablaze—likely a reflection of her Hellish fairy background. She enjoys the visual elements connected to Hell, which often leaves others puzzled; this connection stems from her longing for her former home. While she now lives beneath the Hakurei Shrine, she continues to serve Hecatia Lapislazuli. Clownpiece finds joy in playing pranks on anyone nearby, including her companions. She frequently partners with the Three Fairies of Light in their adventures and has a minor rivalry with Cirno regarding who is the "strongest." In essence, she is a lively character, though somewhat unaware of her environment—she has inadvertently ignited the Hakurei Shrine on more than one occasion.

After the Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom events, Clownpiece moved to Gensokyo, settling right beneath the Hakurei Shrine, where Reimu keeps a vigilant eye on her after learning she had snuck in. Clownpiece has made repeated threats to torch the Hakurei Shrine, much to Reimu's frustration.

With the flame of her torch, Clownpiece can induce madness in others. She asserts that any human who looks at her torch's light will lose their sanity, enabling her to control their thoughts. In the Human Village, she used this ability to provoke intense annoyance among the villagers, leading them to assault each other over trivial matters. She believes that insanity reveals a person's genuine strength.

Clownpiece contends that while her powers may seem unusual for a spirit of nature, they are quite standard in Hell, where "nature" primarily consists of the souls of the dead. The torch she carries is made from the lifeforce of those who have died in Hell.

The full capabilities of Clownpiece's flame are revealed by Eternity Larva, who recognized its potential during the Four Seasons incident. The torch's flames can influence lifeforce, causing it to become uncontrollable. Eternity utilized this power in winter to swiftly change the area around the Hakurei Shrine to summer, decorating barren trees with leaves and even transforming some into palm trees. Although this completely drained the torch's fire, she believed it would eventually reignite by itself.

Prior to the events of Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, Clownpiece was among the fairies affected by Junko's ability, turning her into an entity made of pure lifeforce, which the Lunarians could not combat without facing irreversible corruption. It remains unclear whether this transformation persists by the time she arrives in Gensokyo.

Clownpiece is attired in leggings and a top featuring a design reminiscent of the American flag. Her appearance resembles that of a jester, complete with a frilly collar and a purple polka-dotted jester hat. She has long blonde hair, pink eyes, fairy wings, and a torch.

Since moving to Gensokyo after the Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom events, Clownpiece continues to live beneath the Hakurei Shrine, where Reimu carefully monitors her presence after discovering her entry. Clownpiece has threatened the Hakurei Shrine with fire on numerous occasions, much to Reimu's displeasure.

Clownpiece serves Hecatia, who allows Junko to involve her in schemes aimed at the Lunar Capital.

[Junko sought to fill the moon with the lifeforces of fairies by utilizing her ability alongside Clownpiece.]
