In her childhood, Yuki was a friendly and close friend of Nicole Watterson, with whom she studied martial arts and became a prodigy. However, their friendship shattered when they were forced to fight in a final competition and Yuki lost. Deeply offended and seeking revenge, she left the United States and returned to Japan for harsh, fruitful training that transformed her into a fearsome and ambitious warrior. Upon returning to the US, Yuki challenged Nicole to a duel, but Nicole refused. Determined to provoke her, Yuki launched a campaign of harassment: flirting with Richard, taunting Nicole at work, stealing her workplace, and sabotaging her car's brakes. She finally succeeded when she threatened Nicole's job and home, leading to an anime-style brawl at the school gym. During the fight, Yuki's energy attacks caused the roof to collapse on their children. Despite initially rejecting Nicole's offer of reconciliation, Yuki ultimately put aside her grudge to save the children. She later apologized, admitting her jealousy, and the two re-established their friendship—though they still view each other as rivals. Nicole mocks the Yoshidas' wealth and Yuki calls Nicole a bad mother. In her youth, Yuki had curly hair with a bow and wore a white gi with a black belt—physical eyes and pupils unlike her daughter. Despite their reconciliation, Yuki and Nicole still have a large rift between them, with Yuki maintaining her fierce and ambitious nature while caring deeply for her daughter Masami. Yuki is often lonely, as she only gets to see her husband, Mr. Yoshida, once a month (twice if they're schedules allow it)—as he is busy with work. She loves a man with a sense of humor (hence her attraction towards Richard Watterson). Her obsessiveness is an issue, as she would spend decades to achieve her goal, or get what she wants—by any means not necessary, that includes consuming others. Like all of the residents of Elmore, she fully aware of the supernatural events that occur (as most; if not, all are caused by the Wattersons).
