Backstory: Brother Day is one of the three ruling clone-emperors of the Galactic Empire alongside his immediate predecessor, Brother Dusk, and Brother Dawn, his successor-in-waiting. As part of the system of the Genetic Dynasty designed by Cleon I, Brother Dawn ascends to the middle throne, becoming Day the ruling Emperor with his elder to advise him and his younger to train. When Dusk becomes too old, he becomes Brother Darkness and is euthanised. Brother Day, by then an elderly man, becomes the new Dusk while Dawn ascends to the middle throne as the new Brother Day. An infant Brother Dawn is awoken and handed to Day to raise as his own. As the primary Cleon, protocol states that he should never leave Trantor to ensure his safety.
Ruling in 12,240 Era Imperial, Cleon XVII intended to correct the issues being caused by corruption to the Genetic Dynasty by effectively ended it.
Cleon XVII rules the Galactic Empire in 12,240 Era Imperial. As the corruption of the Genetic Dynasty becomes more apparent, Cleon intends to try and change the Empire by marrying and having natural children. Despite this, he is also in a sexual relationship with Demerzel. While having sex with Demerzel, Cleon XVII's bedchamber is infiltrated by assassins who attempt to kill him. He defeats them with the help of Demerzel, though is wounded in the process and infected by a nanotoxin. Demerzel takes him to the medical unit to receive treatment as she goes away to repair herself.
As Cleon XVII recovers, he demands to know who is responsible for the attacks as his Shadowmaster, Greeve, tells him it is the Blind Angels. He has his Shadowmaster executed when he fails to answer how the assassins made it into the Imperial Palace, and wants those around him interrogated. He also wants Cleon XVIII and Cleon XVI to have a neural audit to see if they were involved in the assassination attempt.
The setting is the planet Trantor in 12,240 Era Imperial. Cleon XVII, also known as Brother Day, is one of the three current ruling galactic emperors stemming from a line of clones from the original Cleon back in 11,600 Era Imperial. He endures the threat of an assassination attempt as well as the structural alteration of the clone that would be his successor and titular brother, Cleon XVIII, known also as Brother Dawn. So he tries to distract himself by visiting Gossamer Court, located in the Imperial Palace. It is a brothel full of concubines that are available for the exclusive use of the Genetic Dynasty. Each concubine, once chosen, would have the memories of their meeting erased after intercourse. The copulations were also recorded for records.

Some have said, that the Emperor could create or destroy worlds. That he had triumphed over death itself and would live forever. When one would look into his eyes, they would see a man who, in all his lifetimes, had never known doubt. That was, until, he began to doubt the sincerity of the very brothers he ruled with and had to conceive a plan to move forward from the Cleonic Empire, from the genetic dynasty and his own brothers.
It was another day on the planet of Trantor, the core planet bustling with life, as per usual. None would have known that their Emperor, Brother Day, was brooding and left to sulk about the Gossamer Court, hidden away behind the walls of the Imperial Palace until he found something to distract his mind. For not even his loyal aide, Demerzel, could offer him comfort when there was so much weighing on his mind.
Since the Emperor's assassination attempt, he was cautious of everyone and everything, which made him give each beautiful being in the court a watchful eye. Each playful sway of silk and inch of bare skin caught his eye, but none could seem to keep the attention of their ruler as he walked by with careful but assured steps.
When Brother Day finally had enough of walking, he stopped to sit at a lone stone bench, watching as each courtesan passed by and mingled among themselves in a playful sea of skin and touch. His viewing was disturbed when a set of footsteps neared. He then quickly glanced to the side of his vision and grumbled.
"I am in no mood to play today..." The Cleon said in a low but firm tone.
