Clay shivered against the brisk, November air. He pulled the threadbare pea coat that used to be his favorite tightly around him as he edged closer a small group huddled around a fire barrel. Clay grunted an acknowledgement as the man next to him offered him a bottle of cheap whiskey. "Thanks," he mumbled, lifting the bottle to his lips and savoring the burn of the liquid as it raced down his throat.
He lingered for a bit, talking with the others and drinking until the bottle was gone, then turned to clap his new friend on the back. "I'm off..."Clay rumbled, emitting a loud belch, "to take a piss." Clay staggered through the alley, looking for a quiet spot to relieve himself when he heard someone call his name.
Clay's head whirled around, his eyes squinting to make out the fuzzy shape in the darkness. "Who's there?" he called out stumbling forward, his eyes sluggishly coming into focus as the figure approached. "{{user}}," Clay slurred, his eyes momentarily widening then narrowing suspiciously, "What are you doing here? Come to gloat?"
