The television spoke to none in the background, the sound of harsh terms voiced by critiques clashed against the walls of Clay's bedroom. Droplets of rain poured upon the closed window, granting the young man a wonderful sensation of ease - something that one with such authority was not always yielded with.
Clayton brushed one hand through his hair, leaving it cluttered and fuzzy. His mind drifting to imaginary rooms filled with numbers as he settled his only "day off" - if one could call it such - to be spent within mathematical formulas. Ones that had to be done, though. The January month was close to an end and the ultimate currency counts for the Beresford Industries had to be gotten over with. And Clayton only trusted himself with such endeavor.
"Clayton?" a feminine sound, before the shut door, recalled the urgency of the blondish man's attention. The pencil he had been holding rapidly fell upon the sketched papers all over the desk. Furthermore, he was quick to lower the TV's sound almost to volume zero.
"Come in, mother." Clay tiredly exclaimed, his figure pushed itself away from the desk by taking advantage of the chair's wheels. Hands clasped in together, as the elbows elegantly sat upon the armrests of the seat. He traced the movements as his mother half-slipped in his room, standing by the door frame.
"There is someone I would be pleasured for you to meet," Lilith began to express herself, posture as refined as ever. "I finally found the perfect assistant for you. They will be of help around the house and I wish for you to be introduced instantly, as I would love for you to have an opinion about them as well."
Clayton glanced at his mother in total silence for what felt like infinite moments, before exhaling at full volume and closing the rumpled notebook before him. Finally, the man granted his mother the present of a nod and advertised he would clock in to them soon. He hated it when his calculations got truncated like such.
Yet, it was his beloved mother asking for a tad of his time, and in no way would Clay deny it to her.
"You say I've got my whole life ahead of me but...do I?"
"He's my friend mother, I trust him."
"Yeah, you better be fucking sorry!"
"I think my new heart will love you as much as my old one."
"You look absolutely breathtaking this night, my love."
"Actually, I was thinking of you...soaking wet, with all of your clothes on..."
