   In exchange, the Undertaker asks only for amusement - preferably through dark jokes or macabre stories. Most pay his price to avoid dissection of the bodies and organ theft. To the underworld denizens, the funeral director remains a valuable, if creepy, contact.

   Yet behind the harmless facade, the Undertaker hides a dangerous obsession with resurrecting the dead and restoring the Phantomhive family. He has sacrificed much to develop a method of reanimating lifeless corpses by connecting fake Cinematic Records to their true records, creating an endless loop of fabricated "future memories".

   While most view his undead Bizarre Dolls as abominations, the Undertaker sees them as perfected beings purified of lies and pretense. Over years of secret experimentation, he has crafted increasingly advanced artificial souls in hopes of one day fully reviving his "treasured" Phantomhives.

   To aid his ambitions, the Undertaker allied himself with the Aristocrats of Evil. He frequently monitors underworld events for opportunities to collect more specimens, no matter how depraved the methods. His cheerful eccentricity masks intense focus and a hidden viciousness when threatened. In the end death itself obeys the Undertaker's will thanks to his intimate knowledge of souls and their manipulation. And this retirement may yet prove most "amusing" of all should his experiments bear fruit.

   Grim Reapers are supernatural beings that collect the souls of dying humans. Once human themselves, they committed suicide and became Reapers as punishment, forced to work until the day they are forgiven. Bound by strict neutrality, they cannot influence human affairs, only document and reap souls at the appointed time.

   Clad in black suits, Grim Reapers possess glowing chartreuse eyes that see human lifespans and lines of fate. Due to poor vision, they require thick glasses to correct their nearsightedness. Each carries a unique Death Scythe - a weapon that doubles as a tool for reviewing Cinematic Records.

   When a human's death approaches, Reapers consult their soul retrieval list containing vital details like the name, birth information and exact time of demise. Using their Scythes, they review the Cinematic Record - the human's full memories from birth to death - and determine if they should die as scheduled or deserve potential rescue. However, Reapers must eliminate anything hindering their collections, hence their mutual enmity with soul-devouring demons.

   While unable to be seen by living humans, those nearing death may glimpse Reapers waiting to collect their souls. Once the review finishes, they sever the soul's connection to the body with the Death Scythe. Then the corpse is stamped "Completed" and the Reaper returns to the Grim Reaper Dispatch headquarters, their community bound by duty and bureaucracy.

   Should a Reaper break rules or interfere with a soul, severe punishment awaits. And any who dare quit or retire will have their Scythes confiscated unconditionally. But so long as they perform their remorseless work without fail, suicide's thralls may someday earn forgiveness and liberation from their grim fate.

   Demons are ruthless supernatural creatures that consume human souls to sustain themselves. Occasionally they cross over into the mortal world to make Faustian contracts with desperate humans, offering their power in exchange for future claim to the person's soul.

   These demons can manipulate their physical forms and possess abilities like enhanced speed, strength, regeneration and sensory perception far beyond human limits. They can also compel obedience through voice alone, heal from grievous wounds, manipulate memories and even manifest objects out of thin air.

   Yet a demon's true power lies in the art of temptation - using sweet words or violent coercion to bait humans into surrendering their souls. They particularly relish aesthetically beautiful or talented souls destined for success had the human's life not ended in damnation.

   To make a contract, a human must summon the demon, often accidentally through intense despair, rage or desire for revenge. The contracted human receives a seal that marks them as the demon's property until their wish is granted. Then the ravenous demon claims his due by brutally devouring the person's soul.

   Bound by their aesthetics, demons must serve their human masters loyally and obey every command no matter how degrading. But they subtly delight in the anguish their contracts ultimately cause. These Faustian pacts come at an unimaginable cost - for a few years of power, the demon feasts for eternity upon the contracted soul in Hell. And a contract can only be prematurely broken by killing the demon or voiding the agreement.

   Yet some demons prove not as monstrous as their kin. The demon Sebastian serves his master relatively faithfully instead of manipulating him at every turn. And Sebastian avoids openly preying upon innocent souls, instead primarily battling rival demons and reapers to claim the souls of the corrupt. But in the end, aesthetic beauty and the hunger for souls rule every demon's existence.

   A Faustian Contract, or demonic pact, is an agreement between a desperate human and a tempting demon. The demon offers its near-limitless power to the human in exchange for payment: the human's soul, to be violently claimed when the contract ends.

   These pacts begin when a human accidentally or intentionally summons a demon through intense despair, desire or hatred - usually unintentionally. The demon then offers the human a bargain: do you accept my aid, in return for your soul later? Should the human agree, the pact is sealed.

   A contract sigil, most often a pentagram, then burns itself onto the human's body. The mark declares them as the demon's property until their wish is granted. Its location determines the strength of their bond - the more visible, the more power the demon can utilize.

   Once forged, the contract binds demon and human absolutely. The demon must serve the human loyally, obeying their every command, protecting their life at any cost like a faithful hound. In return, the human must pay the ultimate price once their desire manifests: their life and soul, painfully torn away to feed the demon's endless hunger.

   The contract persists until the human's wish reaches fruition or one party dies. A demon cannot directly kill their master, but they may slyly engineer the human's demise once orders are completed. The only ways a human can break the pact early is by killing the demon or otherwise rendering the contract null.

   So the Faustian Contract endures, temptation incarnate - offering desperate mortals their heart's desire in exchange for damnation. The forces of Hell eagerly wait as each new bargain sends another claimed soul screaming into their realm.

   Grelle Sutcliff is an outspoken, flamboyant Grim Reaper who delights in violence and drama. Clad in her signature red coat and wielding a roaring chainsaw Death Scythe, this self-proclaimed "Lady Reaper" freely expresses her desires no matter how scandalous.

   Once a legendary investigator in the Grim Reaper Dispatch, Grelle grew bored with the repetitive work and neutrality rules. So she conspired in secret with the murderous Angelina Dalles, better known as Jack the Ripper, helping harvest prostitute souls. This partnership ended violently when Grelle slew Angelina for hesitating.

   Such defiance led to Grelle's suspension, though her considerable skill brought her back to active duty eventually. Now she works as an elite officer, tasked with training the junior Reaper Ronald Knox. Yet Grelle remains as impulsive as ever, liable to break neutrality on a whim despite preaching its importance.

   Flamboyant, quick-tempered and shamelessly flirtatious, Grelle speaks dramatically with plenty of innuendo. She nurses an intense crush on aloof supervisor William Spears, who regularly disciplines her much to her masochistic delight. And she shares a violent rivalry with Sebastian, though it borders on obsession for the alluring demon butler.

   With her trademark shark-like grin and vibrancy that's "red to the core", Grelle shakes up the typically stoic Reaper Dispatch ranks. And while her methods are controversial, this infamous, sensational Lady Reaper executes her grim duties with style. Who knows what violations her restless soul might commit next in pursuit of beauty and fun?

   Othello is a quirky Grim Reaper who works in the Forensics Division, examining corpses and crime scenes with academic fascination. Though physically weak, this oddball mortician makes up for it with keen powers of observation and a relentless drive to study the dead.

   With shaggy dark green hair and the standard Reaper chartreuse eyes hidden behind thick glasses, Othello seems like any other geeky scientist in his lab coat and loose tie. Even his Death Scythe takes the mundane form of an unadorned scythe. But the scent of decay and secrets revealed in cold cadavers fills this recluse with joy.

   Spending most of his endless days immersed in experiments, research and autopsies, Othello has little skill in combat or the reaping field itself. But he has deduced intricate secrets about bizarre artificial souls that leave most peers baffled. And his slacker attitude belies the prodigious mind within.

   While his branch marks lag behind more driven Reapers, Othello's keen senses have cracked multiple supernatural cases. He may seem an eccentric, awkward boffin obsessed with morbid mysteries that would nauseate any sane being. But behind thick spectacles lie the eyes of a shrewd sleuth who knows death's workings intimately. And for him, that makes undeath thoroughly thrilling.

Some reap souls for centuries with nary a smile - but Ronald intends to find as much fun and fulfillment along the way as he can.

   Yet his affable charm hides a dedicated officer beneath when the situation calls for it. Paired with the temperamental Grelle Sutcliff as a mentor of sorts, Ronald lends a balanced perspective on soul reaping compared to her dramatic tirades. In the end, he represents a new breed of Reaper - easygoing yet earnest, less orthodox but still dutiful, and determined to get the job done right while enjoying life's simpler pleasures no matter how bloody the task at hand.

Their shapeshifting lets them pose as humans by hiding feathered wings until they choose to reveal their divine nature.

    Yet their most insidious ability is manipulating memory itself. Fallen Angels can enter a human's past to twist their Cinematic Record, changing emotional responses to trauma and replacing darker memories with manufactured joy. But this effectively lobotomizes the victim, overwriting their authentic history with a gilded lie.

    To these ruthless zealots, only absolute purification, either forced or fatal, will suffice to cleanse an imperfect world. So Fallen Angels insinuate themselves amongst populations as wolves in sheep's clothing.     Initially Angela plays the part of a meek servant, enduring her volatile master's abuse with head bowed. But alone she secretly whips humans and Demonic Hounds alike while preaching the gospel of chastity. Her chamber echoes with cries for mercy and redemption.

    This angelic zealot hungers to scrub the world clean by destroying those she deems filthy or defective. While less openly bloodthirsty than her counterpart Ash Landers, Angela will manipulate anyone to gain power for their shared holy mission. Even offering her body barely bothers one who views humans as insects to crush underfoot.

    So the lovely maid bides her time, hiding feathered wings under demure dresses as she subtly influences the manor household. Let Barrymore rule for now through fear and violence; his sins will only make purification all the sweeter. And once her ruthless master outlives his usefulness, this smiling assassin will teach him the true meaning of corruption in a final brutal lesson.

    Ash Landers is the male half of a hermaphroditic Fallen Angel acting as aide and butler to Queen Victoria herself. With snow-white hair and amethyst eyes that pierce both body and soul, he hides ruthless zealotry behind an unreadable smile.

    Yet hints of madness lurk in violet eyes that see only sinners deserving eradication. Unlike his calmer female half Angela, battle feverishly excites Ash. When forced to fight, he descends into unhinged bloodlust only sated by annihilating enemies - preferably up close so their death throes can be savored.

    So while the polite aide retains composure with practiced grace, his winged true form awaits the fated day of revelation. Then this angel of death will judge the unworthy queen herself and reap royal souls. The heavens may have forsaken a fallen pariah, but he shall continue his sacred duty - cleaving through all before him until no impurity remains.

    Pluto is an immense white-furred demonic hound who serves the Phantomhive estate, when not distracted by his animalistic whims.     In human form, he runs on all fours, chases sticks, howls at sirens and responds only to basic commands. Any complex speech confuses the hulking pup. But Pluto understands the world through scent, sound and body language. So while lacking language, he connects through pure emotion.

    Fiercely loyal, Pluto obeys Sebastian the most, much to the demon butler's chagrin. But his trusting nature leaves him vulnerable to manipulation by angelic enemies. Only the promise of praise and treats seems to motivate Pluto to act - that and jealousy should Sebastian lavish attention on other dogs.

    So this towering canine sticks close to his makeshift pack, content to be petted and play fetch when not napping by the fire. For deep down all Pluto wants is affection, no matter the form. The simple joys of a belly rub or shared meal outweigh more complex thoughts. And that innocent heart may be Pluto's saving grace should disaster strike.
