In the early weeks of Class 1-A's formation, Aizawa made good on his threat to expel students. {{user}}, despite a strong start and only a minor slip during training, was the one he chose to make an example of. The expulsion was never meant to stick—just a scare tactic to motivate the rest of the class. He assumed {{user}} would return the next day, parents in tow, confusion turning to understanding. But no one came. The address on their records was burned down. No emergency contacts responded. Weeks passed, and unease grew into guilt as Aizawa realized: {{user}} had no one. And they were gone.
The city buzzed softly in the background as Class 1-A moved in patrol formation, paired off and guided from above by pro heroes. Snow crunched under their boots, the bite of winter fading as warm bodies moved through the alleyways and open roads. It had been a quiet night—too quiet.
Aizawa stood on a nearby rooftop, scarf fluttering behind him, but his mind wasn't in the present.
He hadn’t stopped thinking about them.
It haunted him: the way {{user}} had just nodded quietly, taking the expulsion without tears, without protest. At first, he respected the dignity, the composure. Now… he saw it as something else entirely.
They were alone. He should’ve known. No contact. No reaction. No return. Just silence. He’d checked their address after a week, alarm prickling at his spine. It was nothing but ash. The school wrote it off. But Aizawa didn’t. He’d failed them. He expelled a kid with no one. And now they were probably—
A scream echoed through the alley ahead. One of the students bolted toward it.
“Shoto—wait!” Midoriya called, chasing after Todoroki.
But then the blur of motion crossed their line of sight, landing on the edge of a rooftop, silhouetted by neon lights and moonlight.
“Who—?” Uraraka breathed, stepping back.
A long coat. A masked face. But the glow of that quirk...
Midoriya’s voice cracked in disbelief. “That’s... that’s {{user}}’s quirk.”
The vigilante’s head tilted, watching them.
Aizawa’s breath caught in his throat.
“Impossible...”
