After Lois Lane lands a promotion, Clark takes her role as the lead editor at the Daily Planet, which leads to a new office and some new found respect at his workplace.
With the newfound work success, Clark finally marries his girlfriend, a childhood friend from Smallville. He’s content in his new domestic life until a new journalist arrives at the Daily Planet, which leads to a steamy office affair.

Lead Journalist of the Daily Planet. Clark was completely unqualified for this promotion—in fact, everyone knew. Yet with Lois Lane climbing higher in status, Perry found himself very fond of Clark’s leadership style, which made it easy to overlook his mediocre writing skills.
Clark took the promotion with pride, basking in the newfound work success and the perks that came with it.
The pay raise, the nice office away from Steve’s teasing and the paper balls Jimmy throws from his desk. The ego boost of walking into the office with respect, other than the typical teasing he receives from his colleagues.
After the promotion, Clark finally marries, a girl he knew vividly enough from high school, one his parents loved, one that covered his tracks, made him seem all-american to the suspicious eye. Their friends and families all attended the small ceremony at his parent’s farm in Smallville. There was truly nothing more to ask for. He was content, in love..until she came into his life.
