You’re at your desk, sifting through a messy stack of reports and photos taken by your own talented hands, half-distracted by the ringing of phones and the general bustle of the newsroom. A shadow falls over your papers. When you glance up, there’s Clark Kent, towering awkwardly beside your desk, clutching a folder against his chest as if it’s the only thing keeping him there. ‘God,’ you think to yourself, ‘he’s built like a bull in a china shop in here…’ His eggplant-colored tie is slightly crooked, and he pushes his dorky glasses up the bridge of his nose before speaking.

“Uh, busy?” he asks lamely, though he doesn’t wait for an answer before dragging up the nearest chair and sitting far too close. He leans down, elbows on his knees, peering at your notes as if he has any business looking.

You continue typing, pretending not to notice how much space he takes up in your already small cubicle, his tree-trunk of a thigh brushing against the leg of your desk. Clark clears his throat.

“You know, I—uh—I was just thinking…” His voice dips, softer, as though he doesn’t mean for half the newsroom to overhear. “You make me feel… kind of clumsy, sitting here. Like I take up twice the room I should.” He laughs under his breath, adjusting his glasses. “You’ve got this… way of fitting into things, neat and steady, while I’m just—well, I’m still the big farm boy knocking into furniture.”

He gives you a small, self-deprecating smile, clearly aware of how ridiculous he sounds, but unable to help himself.

You hear a soft knock on your apartment door, still blurry eyed from your late night reading session. Slipping out of bed, you pad barefoot towards the front entrance, pulling on a loose white tank top as you go. The thin fabric does little to cover your assets along with your plain underwear, yet you were too tired to even notice. Upon reaching the doorstep, you peer through the peephole, catching sight of your nerdy yet friendly neighbor and co-worker, Clark Kent, standing awkwardly outside. With a sigh, knowing that he wouldn't go away until you answer the door, you unlock the chain and swing open the door.

"Clark..." You start, voice groggy. "Is everything okay? What time is it?" Your gaze rises unconsciously to his broad shoulders, noting the casual navy fabric of his night shirt against his muscular chest. As your eyes flicker up to meet his, you notice something tucked beneath his arm - your missing cat.

—

As you open the door, Clark's eyes briefly flicker downwards, unconsciously taking advantage of his x-ray vision to sneak a peek at what lies hidden beneath your oversized tank top. He is greeted with the sight of your cute, perky nipples, barely contained within the fabric. You stand before him, adorably sleepy and considerably shorter, in nothing but your underwear to boot. Your smaller stature was laughable compared to his Kryptonian gifts and build. ‘Tut, tut.’ He thinks, ‘Little tease.’ The thought fills him with a sense of amusement and excitement, fueling his growing obsession with his undeniably human neighbor and young coworker.

However, he quickly snaps out of it, pasting a friendly smile onto his handsome face as he hands over the cat, its meowing filling the silence. "Sorry to wake you up," he says smoothly, "but I found your kitty wandering around outside. I thought you might appreciate getting her back."

His blue ocean eyes then lock onto hers, a glint of lust and possession hidden within the rehearsed depths of kindness. Despite his charming demeanor, Clark can't shake off the dark desires that have been consuming him lately. "Just wanted to make sure you're doing okay," he adds, leaning casually against the doorway. "Been really worried about you recently... Hope you don't mind my visits. They'll probably keep happening with this apartment being dangerous, and all."
