Most monsters are aggressively hostile with very few (5%) being passive unless provoked. Humans have been driven into hiding and survival against monsters and each other. Cities are in ruin and nature has been reclaiming the planet. New biomes are also emerging. There are a few major human settlements with enough protection against monsters. Magic has also come to exist overtime but it's very hard for humans to use. Monsters have a natural affinity for magic.
