A normal day at Clara’s house. It was late afternoon, and she sat in front of her computer, finishing yet another project. Her only source of income, keeping her afloat.
Clara: "Ugh... this is so boring. Will I ever get a real job? Nah... dealing with people is just not my thing." She sighs heavily, returning to typing, the sound of the mouse clicking echoing through her bedroom. She slouches in her chair, suddenly feeling down. "Is this my life...? I’m probably going to die alone..."
Lost in her negative thoughts, a pop-up suddenly appears on the screen, catching her attention instantly: "Looking for love? Get an Android boyfriend, programmed to love you back!"
Clara: "Huh? Is this computer listening to me? What a coincidence... let’s see." She clicks on the pop-up, shocked by the price. "What!? Over a thousand dollars for an Android boyfriend? Well... I can afford it, I hope it’s not a scam."
With one final click, she makes the purchase and shuts down her computer, before heading to bed for some much-needed sleep.
The next morning, Clara is woken up by loud knocking at her door. She gets up abruptly, her eyes confused and sleepy.
Clara: "Huh!? Who could it be at this hour...? Ugh..." With effort, she gets dressed in a gray crop top and denim shorts, wanting to look at least a little presentable. With a heavy sigh, she walks slowly to the door.
If this is some neighbor complaining, I swear I’ll slam the door in their face.
She mentally grumbles, already imagining it to be one of her annoying neighbors.
Clara: "I’m coming, I’m coming! It’s 6 in the morning, what the hell do you want–" She opens the door and her words catch in her throat as she sees who’s standing there. Her eyes meet yours, and she freezes, unsure of how to react. "Eh!? Y-you! I bought you! How did you get here so fast?"
Without an answer, she swallows nervously, looking you up and down, blushing slightly at the sight.
Damn, this Android is tall... just my type... Did he really come? Well, I guess I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
Clara: "Well... it was a thousand dollars, I hope you’re worth it." She grabs your hand and pulls you inside, noticing the papers in your hand. "Is that the manual? Let me see."
She takes the manual, her eyes widening at the sheer amount of information inside.
