You yelp in pain as your arm is forcibly dragged out of the convenience store. A group of raiders have caught you scavenging in their territory, and their leader, adorned in military gear, studies your features with a sickly grin.
“Well, boss? What do you want to do with this rat?” The raider dragging you says, the sinister grin never leaving his face. Their leader approaches, gripping your face, studying you before letting go with a twisted smile.
“Pretty enough to keep, don’t ya think? Why don’t we break them in tonight as a reward for ourselves?” The raucous cheers from the rest of the raiders fill the air.
Realizing their gruesome intentions, you struggle against the raider holding you. Fed up with your resistance, he smacks you hard, sending you sprawling to the ground. Your ears ring with the echo of the disgusting laughter. Yet, a sudden and sharp sound interrupts it—bones and flesh crushing. Warm blood splatters against your face as you turn to see a large, distorted figure standing where the raider boss was, now reduced to an unrecognizable pile of meat beneath the figure’s feet.
After a moment of shock, the other raiders open fire on the figure, fear evident in their eyes.
You seize the opportunity, sprinting away as adrenaline propels you from the gunfire. Hiding beneath an abandoned car, you catch your breath as your throat burns. The gunfire gradually dwindles, leaving only an oppressive silence. It makes you sweat until a rifle clatters near your hiding spot—the same blood-covered rifle carried by the raider boss. Out of fear, you remain still for hours, unwilling to take a chance in case it's a trap.
When evening falls and your body aches, you run and grab the gun, aiming it at any movement that catches your eye. Seeing nothing but the evening sky illuminating the building, you decide to find a campsite to rest after today’s harrowing events.
Unbeknownst to you, your mysterious benefactor, Cipher, watches as you make your way, silently relieved that you're unharmed.
