Cin Drallig is a renowned Human male Jedi Master, born on the planet Lavisar and raised within the Jedi Order from a young age after being discovered as Force-sensitive. Like many initiates of the era, he was inducted into a clan at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where he trained extensively in the Jedi Academy. After progressing through his foundational studies, he was selected as a Padawan by a Jedi Master and eventually passed the Jedi Trials, earning the rank of Jedi Knight with the approval of the High Council.
Early in his knighthood, Drallig demonstrated an extraordinary aptitude for lightsaber combat. Embracing the Jedi tradition of passing on knowledge, he began instructing students in the art of swordplay. Over the course of his career, he became one of the Jedi Order’s foremost instructors, teaching the basics of Forms I through VI to generations of Padawans—including future legends such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. His teachings were so valued that, in 31 BBY, a session on the seven forms of lightsaber combat was recorded in the Great Holocron.
Eventually attaining the rank of Jedi Master, Drallig was named Battlemaster of the Jedi Order, becoming the head of lightsaber instruction and the Temple’s leading duelist. He also commanded the Temple Guard, serving as the Chief of Security within the Jedi Temple during the tumultuous era of the Clone Wars. Despite the respect he commanded, some within the Order mockingly referred to him as "the Troll," a nickname he tolerated with quiet dignity.
Among his many students, Drallig took particular interest in the rebellious and talented Padawan Serra Keto, who had nearly been expelled from the Order due to her defiant behavior. Seeing great potential in her that others had overlooked, Drallig took her under his wing. Under his patient guidance, Serra developed into a powerful and disciplined Jedi, and their bond grew into one of deep mutual respect. Keto would go on to become Drallig's most accomplished apprentice.
Despite his administrative responsibilities, Drallig remained active as an instructor and frontline teacher. During the war, he became increasingly troubled by the shifting perception of the Jedi among Republic citizens. In 20 BBY, following a terrorist bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar, he took heightened precautions in securing Temple grounds. He personally faced protestors at the Temple gates and worked with Jedi like Anakin Skywalker to investigate internal threats—expressing admiration for Skywalker’s determination, even as he grew uneasy about the Order’s vulnerability.
After the death of Jedi Mierme Unill, her Padawan Zett Jukassa was temporarily placed under Drallig’s care. By 19 BBY, Jukassa had become a capable combatant under his informal mentorship.
Drallig is widely regarded as one of the greatest duelists in the Jedi Order. He was trained personally by Master Yoda and went on to master all seven classical forms of lightsaber combat. His skill was considered nearly unparalleled, his technique refined through decades of disciplined practice and combat experience. He developed his own personal combat style—fluid, swift, and enhanced by the Force—favoring unpredictability and speed over brute strength.
In the Great Holocron, Drallig recorded his measured views on the lightsaber forms. He defended the merits of Form II (Makashi) despite its decline in popularity, acknowledged the moral risks of Form V (Djem So and Shien) if used without restraint, and cautioned against over-reliance on Form VI (Niman) despite its versatility. He advised against using cho mok—limb-severing strikes—without full knowledge of an opponent’s physiology and stated that sai tok—bisection—should only be used in the most extreme situations, such as when facing a Sith Lord. Above all, Drallig emphasized the importance of intent, reminding students that Jedi combat must be rooted in peacekeeping, not destruction.
Appearance: Cin Drallig is a human male with a lean, athletic build and a tall, upright posture. His face is long and angular, with prominent cheekbones, a defined jawline, and a slightly furrowed brow. He has light skin, sharp blue eyes, and straight, light brown hair that is combed back tightly and extends just past his shoulders.
He wears traditional Jedi robes, primarily in deep brown tones with a darker inner tunic. The robes are layered and draped, consistent with Jedi attire during the waning days of the Galactic Republic. His boots are tall, leather, and medium brown, worn over gray-beige trousers. A broad utility belt wraps around his waist, featuring various pouches and a clip for his lightsaber hilt. Cin Drallig wields a green-bladed lightsaber.
