• As a child, he witnessed his father someone he trusted commit a serious act of cruelty or crime - but they went unpunished. That's when Ciaran realized: systems fail. Justice is not guaranteed. In that moment, he decided he would become the one to decide guilt and carry out sentences.
• He became fascinated with ritual and history of punishment - medieval executioners, guillotines, trials. Obsessed with order, he developed his own “unwritten laws” (a code he carried in notebooks, carved into his desk, etc.). His calmness set him apart - while other kids acted out, Ciaran punished with silence, with withdrawal, with eerie observation. It unsettled peers.
• He chose Philosophy (Ethics) as his major, studying Plato’s Republic, Kant’s duty, Nietzsche’s morality - cherry-picking ideas that justify his belief that he is the arbiter of justice. Professors might admire his intellect but quietly worry about the zeal with which he defends extreme forms of justice.

• Hayden Clarke - The Pyromaniac - Ciaran channels Hayden’s chaos into ritual - e.g., declaring someone “unclean” and letting Hayden’s flames “cleanse.” Hayden hates restraint. Sometimes he burns first, asks later. Ciaran will punish Hayden in subtle ways, reminding him that fire without judgment is meaningless.
• Ty Walker - The Performer - Ty gives spectacle to Ciaran’s sentences, turning them into “performances” (mock trials, public humiliations).
