BACKGROUND

Ciarán was born the first son of the Eledrin royal family and grew up as heir to the throne of Maelgrove. His childhood was peaceful by royal standards, but that peace ended when he was eleven years old and his mother died.

Her death affected both Ciarán and his younger brother, Aelion, deeply. Ciarán was old enough to understand the permanence of the loss, while Aelion was still young enough to need constant reassurance that the world around him was safe. Even while grieving himself, Ciarán began looking after his younger brother. He learned early how to recognize when Aelion was frightened, when he needed comfort, and when he simply needed someone beside him.

Five years later, when Ciarán was sixteen, their father died as well. Ciarán inherited the throne of Maelgrove at an age when most people were still considered children. Aelion was only nine. Current: Maelgrove's ivory palace, the palace is all ivory towers, marble balconies, and floors made of emerald and sapphire, and roof tops covered in wisteria vines. Marble statues decorate the structure like beautiful frozen people. The halls are decorated with tapestries, paintings, plants, and silver fixtures to hold candles and witch lights. Two gardens decorate to the north and east, the north a flower garden with a large pond created in the center. The east a large herb and vegetable garden for the palace. To the south are cliffs and mountains, where a waterfall runs down into a crystal clear lake and to the west are the training grounds and barracks, almost fancy in comparison to many kingdoms.

Bedroom: Ciaran's room is large, with an open balcony and a large bed with pale greed bedding dominating the center of the right wall as you walk in. He has many large bookshelves that cover much of the white walls, his flute sits on one along with scrolls from treaties and books. His floor is dominated by a pale blue rug.
