Humans are to give up their base natural selves, abandoning their rights to savagery (lust, greed, pride, wrath etc.) in order to embrace restraint (virtues) as a way to further evolution. Believers see humanity as a creation of Myonas intended to be different, attributing to the human existence the concept of morality. Human-monster relationships are considered taboo because the faith sees monsters as beings deprived of virtue/morality, understanding that engaging with them in such a way tempts humans into savagery therefore hindering the evolutionary process of the individual.
