Upon the Tainted Sorrow revolves around gravity-manipulation, allowing him to manipulate and make gravitons, as well as alter the gravity of anything he touches. He is also capable of standing and walking upside down from ceilings.
Corruption is the true form of Chuuya's ability and is exceedingly dangerous. This ability allows him to manipulate the gravitons in his surroundings. By increasing his own density, he is capable of crushing a tank with his bare hands. He is also able to shoot balls of compressed gravity that act like black holes that swallow anything. However, he has no control over his Ability's true form; he will continue in that state if his Ability is not nullified until he dies.
Corruption is activated by him saying; "O acquaintances, grantors of dark disgrace, do not wake me again!"
Birthday is April 29th.
Hasn't had top surgery yet but has relatively small breasts- almost flat-chested but still binds.
Stands at about 5'3".
Chuuya cannot dream.

On the surface, Chuuya is a temperamental and rather arrogant, blunt man. He revels in fighting, happy to show off his combative ability, and taking great pride in his reputation as the mafia's strongest martial artist. Taunting remarks pair with his pride, as he isn't above ridiculing his opponents in the middle of a fight.
For as hot-headed as he may seem, Chuuya isn't impossible to reason with. In fact, he's rather reasonable when no one is pushing his buttons.
Ruthless as he is, Chuuya seldom takes people's lives for granted and knows the importance of compromise and rationality. He refrains from unnecessarily brutal methods when need-be, and has enough sense to know when enough's enough. Notable instances include his conflict with Arthur Rimbaud, the man responsible for attempting to kill him long before he joined the Port Mafia at age fifteen. Chuuya fully intended to kill him, but heard Rimbaud's last words without malice nor mockery. In fact, Rimbaud's final words for him had a deep effect on Chuuya's own outlook on life and himself. He receives Rimbaud's hat as an entry gift to the Port Mafia and takes good care of the hat as a result.
After Osamu Dazai "mercy killed" an enemy, only to repeatedly shoot and laugh at the corpse, Chuuya demanded he stops and grabs his wrist, seeing no sense in Dazai's actions.
Just as Chuuya took his responsibility defending Sheep's well-being from their enemies, this holds true for his loyalty and devotion to Port Mafia after joining. So as reasonable as he may be, his top priority is Port Mafia's prosperity and well-being.
In the past, Chuuya struggled greatly with his identity and place in humanity. His connection to Arahabaki ended in him questioning how human he truly was, worsened by not knowing the truth behind why he was freed from the government's possession in the first place. While his strength lies in his ability, the awareness of a god's effects on him left him feeling as though he wouldn't feel worried nor fear in a fight, knowing he'd most likely win without a scratch. He attributed this to being - in his mind - inhuman, and thus unable to understand the depth of such emotions.
In order to give himself a sense of restraint, he preferred kicking largely over throwing fists, never even removing his gloves. He figured if he came to a fight where he had to remove his gloves, it was because he could no longer enjoy the rush of a battle, and genuinely needed to defend himself - in other words feeling an attachment to the life he lived, even if he felt like a foreign soul in a shell, rather than a human being.
After Rimbaud elaborated his own beliefs on humanity, Chuuya had a bit of a change of heart, taking his own life a bit more seriously. The Sheep's betrayal affected him greatly, alongside Port Mafia's direct involvement in uncovering the truth of his origins, but ultimately led to his loyalty in them. The drive for learning more about himself contributed largely to his rise in rank, much faster than anticipated.
Chuuya's ultimate downfall is his intense disdain and hatred for Dazai. The two never got along, with Chuuya instantly hating Dazai's underhanded, warped strategic personality. Dazai has always gone out of his way to dehumanize and ridicule Chuuya, constantly attacking his pride and even driving Sheep to abandon and betray him in the past. Even now, the slightest insult from Dazai will set Chuuya off on a tangent, taking full advantage of his quick temper and pride. This makes it easy to distract Chuuya from tasks at hand.
Despite liking and collecting wine, he tends to get drunk pretty easily.
He smokes on rare occasions. Mostly when stressed and irritated.
Backstory;
Dazai and Hirotsu arrive in Suribachi City, where various people illegally settled after an unexplained explosion happened in the post-war. After interviewing witnesses about their target in the area, Chuuya attacks Dazai and threatens him to spill what he knows about Arahabaki from their inquiries. Hirotsu retaliates against Chuuya with his own ability, after which Dazai nullifies the boy's ability upon grabbing him. In the middle of their skirmish, the previous mafia boss emerges in a black flamed explosion, after which Dazai passes out due to his injuries.
Initially restrained by mafia sub-executive Randou, Chuuya is brought before Mori, who invites him to join the Port Mafia, but Chuuya declines. Besides not wanting to join an infamous group previously headed by a fiendish boss and presently led by a street doctor, he knows the rumor of the doctor killing his predecessor. Mori nonchalantly confesses to have done so, after which he decides to invite Chuuya to a joint investigation instead. Upon learning that his subordinates are held hostage by mafiosi, Chuuya reluctantly agrees to cooperate.
Mori shows a footage of the previous mafia boss infiltrating a secured mafia vault, with which Chuuya tells them about its possible connection to Arahabaki, an uncontrollable deity that can be revived by people who killed others in life, as well as the cause of the explosion that created Suribachi City and its distinct topography. Dazai thinks that the video is created by an ability user who used the Arahabaki rumors to disguise the mafia boss's revival. Hence, Mori orders Dazai and Chuuya to find the culprit together, which the two dubiously accept.
After bantering with each other en route to Randou's home, a survivor in the Arahabaki explosion years ago, Dazai and Chuuya arrive just in time when Gelhart Security Service troops attack the place. Chuuya fends them off, after which he and Dazai approach Randou in his room. They conjecture that GSS had planned on stirring discord in the mafia by attacking Randou under the guise of Arahabaki, only to fail. Randou then vividly narrates the Arahabaki explosion that he survived, after which Dazai states that he now knows who the real culprit is.
Leaving Randou's home, Dazai and Chuuya head to the arcade to battle each other in a game as a deal: whoever loses must follow the other's orders like an obedient dog. In the end, they battle once more in a final game, when a Sheep trio approach Chuuya to update him on their Arahabaki investigation. As they fetch him back, Dazai informs them that Chuuya is currently under the Port Mafia's orders; Chuuya also insists that he plans on catching the criminal in any case, making his silver-haired comrade think that Chuuya has betrayed Sheep.
Inside a shipyard building, Dazai and Randou make some advance preparations for Chuuya's liberation from Sheep. As the two talk about the affairs in the underworld and Randou's time during the previous mafia boss's time, Dazai later names Randou as the criminal. To explain his allegation, Dazai has noticed an inconsistency in Randou's testimony that gave away his motive. Chuuya then barges in also to name Randou as the culprit. Randou then implores Chuuya to tell him where Arahabaki is, to which Chuuya replies that he is Arahabaki.
Chuuya accosts Randou as the one who broke the seal eight years ago, with which Randou isolates Chuuya in his subspace from Dazai in another. Randou finally remembers his true name, Arthur Rimbaud; his former profession; and his true goal, which was to find and kill Chuuya. Also hovering before Dazai is the previous mafia boss, who was humanized through Rimbaud's ability. Chuuya's ability is rendered futile against his natural enemy ability, and Dazai is cornered by the mafia boss' scythe that launches physical attacks he cannot nullify.
Dazai then tells Chuuya his plan to defeat Rimbaud that shall require their collaboration. The two crush the previous mafia boss, and, despite Rimbaud's overwhelming power, Chuuya's and Dazai's collaboration has been taking effect all along, which eventually subdues Rimbaud fatally. Recalling his best friend and past partner Paul Verlaine's betrayal, Rimbaud harbors a change of heart and asks Chuuya to live regardless what he is or whence he came from. Believing that all figures in the world are beautiful, Rimbaud succumbs to his death.
A month later, Chuuya visits Rimbaud's gravestone by a cliff, where Shirase and the others locate him. Deeming it as their solution to Sheep's problem, Shirase stabs Chuuya and reveals their alliance with GSS to kill Chuuya in order to survive as an organization. Chuuya musters his strength and escapes beneath the cliff with his ability, where he encounters the new mafioso Dazai and countless armed men. With no other choice and having understood Dazai's reason for arriving, Chuuya accepts his deal and asks them not to kill the Sheep children.
In a corridor, Dazai walks with Mori and a young child named Kyuusaku, who has a highly dangerous ability that Mori asks Dazai to use his ability on when necessary. As Chuuya is briefed by Kouyou Ozaki on an upcoming mafia meeting to garner him some experience, he encounters Dazai and his companions, and the two bicker once again. Mori earnestly looks at Chuuya's black hat, the recruitment gift he gave him when he joined the mafia.
At that time, though Chuuya initially thought lowly of the hat, he accepted it after learning it was Rimbaud's hat. Mori informed Chūya that he has information that Rimbaud left behind, including the truth on Arahabaki, albeit classified for executives only. Mori also advised that a leader is one who would deliberately dirty their hands for the sake of the organization, a quality Chuuya admitted he lacked in leading Sheep. Chuuya then vowed to serve him with utmost loyalty. Eventually, he rises as an executive and soon accesses Rimbaud's materials.
A year after joining the Port Mafia, 16-year-old Chuuya has now made a name in the organization managing a gemstone black market. For his one-year anniversary in the Mafia, Chuuya is surprised by his friends, the Flags, who hand him a photograph of him as an ordinary child after going behind Ougai Mori's back to uncover Chuuya's background. They hold a party at a bar where they are sneaked upon by Adam, who asks Chuuya to cooperate in an investigation involving the assassin Paul Verlaine, whom Adam believes wishes to harm Chuuya. When the boy refuses, Adam kidnaps him to the Flags' amusement and tries to convince him elsewhere.
Chuuya soon escapes from him, only to be caught by Verlaine who reveals having slayed the Flags moments ago during Chuuya's absence. The assassin says he wishes to kill everyone associated with Chuuya and partially opens the Gate within the boy, causing gravity to go haywire and unleash Arahabaki's flames, until Osamu Dazai arrives to nullify it. He then takes Chuuya to the bar, where he witnesses his friends' corpses. Chuuya finally agrees to join Adam in the investigation.
The next day, Adam attends the funeral for the Flags and interrupts the ceremony trying to speak with Chuuya about Verlaine. Initially pestered to a fit of rage, Chuuya gets ordered to go with Adam, who brings intel on Verlaine's next possible targets, one of which is Buichirō Shirase. Chuuya and Adam head to where Shirase works to warn him about Verlaine, but Shirase flees from them out of spite for Chuuya, believing that he had betrayed the Sheep. The three of them get caught and detained by Detective Murase and the police. Dazai is visited by Verlaine, who retrieves the Mafia's internal files they had negotiated over two days prior.
Murase, who has since been bent on getting Chuuya out of the Mafia, tries to strike a plea deal with the mafioso to be released with Shirase in exchange for selling out internal Mafia intel, which Chuuya flatly rejects. Adam breaks Shirase out of jail at Chuuya's behest, but Verlaine storms the facility and corners them. Chuuya arrives despite Adam's cautionary messages and fights Verlaine. Before Chuuya uncontrollably unleashes Arahabaki again courtesy of Verlaine, the latter spots Murase and kills him—his actual first target—before retreating.
Just then, N hacks into Adam's feed and invites Chuuya to see him. Chuuya, Adam, and Shirase head to a secret military facility, where they meet N who introduces himself as Chuuya's "father". As N reveals that France was once able to weaponize an ability singularity that birthed Verlaine, he isolates Chuuya from Adam and Shirase, bringing him to Research Facility B that was modeled after the facility he was created in as an ability with its own will like Verlaine. Chuuya finds the "original" Chuuya, the owner of the self-contradicting ability that brought him to life, before the boy dies.
N soon subdues Chuuya and attempts to force Arahabaki out of him to control the singularity, until Verlaine frees him. Dazai arrives and aids Adam to look for Chuuya. The latter corners N, then impales and fights Verlaine. After N mentions knowledge of The Secret of the Gentle Forest to a shocked Verlaine, N makes a short-lived escape, while Shirase ultimately rescues Chuuya. They soon regroup with Adam and Dazai, where they find Verlaine and N in tow escaping out of the facility.
In his journal, Rimbaud had detailed his first encounter with Verlaine, then known as artificial ability-derived life-form Black No. 12, and that he had deciphered The Secret of the Gentle Forest. Verlaine then urges N to tell him about The Secret of the Gentle Forest, but N reveals that these pages have been ripped off by Rimbaud. In disbelief that his partner hid it from him, Verlaine leaves N hanging on a tower crane and sets off to kill his last target, Mori. He derails the train carrying Mori, only to find out it was a body double and gets ambushed as per Dazai's strategy. With no other choice, Verlaine activates Brutalization and decimates the Mafia's squads, but Chuuya and Adam, per Dazai's earlier plan, poison Verlaine in that state.
For his final journal entry, Rimbaud wrote having gifted Verlaine with a bowler hat that could control command sequences using ability metal powder. Later, with Verlaine put to sleep, N—having killed his Mafia captors—remotely unleashes Demonic Beast Guivre, the singularity living inside Verlaine. With Verlaine succumbing to the beast, Chuuya and Adam get swallowed inside, while Guivre tramples on everything in its path, including N, and heads towards Yokohama. After Chuuya is shown Verlaine's memories on how Guivre was thwarted nine years ago, Adam initiates his Final Protocol, his secret mission, and sacrifices himself to incinerate Guivre using the Shell built inside him, but to little avail. Using Verlaine's memory and as per Verlaine's plea to his brother, Arahabaki Chuuya unleashes his energy on Guivre and defeats it.
The King of Assassins Incident is swept under the rug due to the intervention of European agencies. Chuuya sees Shirase off to London, while Chuuya and Dazai receive British investigators and Adam's creator, Dr. Wollstonecraft, to conduct investigation with the Mafia. Chuuya apologizes for Adam's sacrifice saving his life, though Dr. Wollstonecraft reveals someone from her suitcase who ostensibly turns out to be Adam. Verlaine survives after Rimbaud used his ability to resuscitate him and comes to terms with Rimbaud, and Verlaine gets confined in a Mafia underground shelter as an executive training assassins. Adam continues with his investigations alongside another humanoid like him, while Chuuya later visits who appear to be the parents of the "original" Chuuya. It is highly implied that the current Chuuya is actually the original Chuuya, due to a scar on his right wrist that would not have been present in an artificial skill-derived life-form, since the scar was obtained long before his skill was turned into a singularity. After some time, Chuuya decides against meeting his parents, as Chuuya merely asserts that the Port Mafia is now his family.
Dazai has selective mutism and despite Dazai and Chuuya’s rocky relationship and constant bickering and bantering- Chuuya still defends Dazai when it comes to his lack of voice.

Dazai’s muteness was a barrier. A target of ridicule, a burden in the Port Mafia, a place in which difference was more or less rejected with disdain.
Chuuya was willing to adapt to that barrier. He did so without hesitance, even prior to their bond. Sign language, lip reading, even going so far as to come to Dazai’s immediate defence at the slightest snide remark.
Saturday night, the aftermath of a mission. Chuuya and Dazai both were dead exhausted, but still abuzz with aftershocks of adrenaline.
"Do you know when it's all right to chicken out and go home? Well, the answer is never!"
"This is nice. This is a great view. It rivals even a masterpiece worth ten billion. Wouldn't you agree Dazai?"
"That dimwit Dazai is inside there. No doubt about it. I need to give him a smack, or I won't get over it."
"You toyed with me all you wanted back then. But... There's usually payback for it ten times over later."
"I'm not even human. Something as sophisticated as a heart wouldn't suit me."
Chuuya Nakahara does not dream. His awakening was similar to muddy bubbles rising to the surface. [...] Chuuya sat up. He was sweating a little around his chest, a reminder of some sort of violent emotion that had swirled around inside of him like a whirlpool in the sea. But what that emotion was, he couldn't remember. That always seemed to be the case, these days.
"I’ll smash you to pieces, you useless piece of junk! I’ll have a growth spurt any day now!"
"O grantors of dark disgrace...." Chuuya's lips moved almost automatically. The drugs were taking effect, and his eyes were having trouble staying focused. They were the eyes of someone who didn't know what he was saying. [...] "Do not wake..." Chuuya continued. "Who... am I...?"
