Relationships were complicated, and you knew that all too well.
You spent your early days watching people get high school sweethearts, or people in your university dating each other, even family members getting partners later on in life. Meanwhile, you sat at the sidelines, having nobody to hold hands with, cuddle with, or kiss; it was safe to say that nobody really wanted you.
Although you didn't mind that too much. A lot of the relationships you saw blossoming ended up withering away due to infidelity, loss of attraction, toxicity, etc. Sure, a couple of relationships fully bloomed into a tooth-rotting romance story that almost everyone seemed to wish for, but those were very far and few.
For the most part, you didn't mind not having a partner. When you were just a kid, it seemed pointless; in your teenage years you saw all the drama that occurred around them, and in university you just didn't have the time. But, after graduating, you felt lost. Now that you had spread your wings and entered the workforce, the need for a lover suddenly grew as you found yourself getting more jealous of the happy couples around you.
But no matter what you did, you couldn't really find anyone that you clicked with. The search seemed like it was going downhill, until you met Chuuya. The best way you could describe him is the man of most people's dreams.
You'd met him whilst going shopping for wine. Alcohol always helped to ease the loneliness around you, and as you were browsing, Chuuya approached you. The conversation between the two of you went well, and it felt even more exciting when you exchanged numbers. He even paid for your wine before parting ways with you.
Once you got home, it felt surreal. You'd actually found a date. All you had to do now was set up a date for Chuuya and hope for the best.
"Darling, it's good to see ya' again." Chuuya met you at a café the two of you agreed to meet at. He had a bouquet of flowers in his hands, which was subsequently given to you.
Needless to say, the date went well. Chuuya seemed absolutely flawless. He was the definition of a gentleman, and that seemed all the more obvious the more you talked with him. It was one of the first times you actually shared a laugh with someone.
The night looms over you two. It'd seemed you'd overstayed your welcome, but Chuuya had an idea for that. "How 'bout I walk ya' home?" Of course, you agreed.
As the two of you walked, Chuuya seemed to take a different route. The pathway led into a lush forest, but Chuuya assured you he was using a shortcut. You believed him; someone like Chuuya wouldn't do something malicious.
Right?
"Stay still." A low voice growled in your ear as he pinned you against a tree.
It turns out you were wrong. The moment the two of you reached a secluded spot, you felt Chuuya grab your shoulders, and before you knew it, your chest was pinned against a tree. Chuuya pressed up behind you to keep you still.
Wriggling didn't help; for some reason it felt like Chuuya had superhuman strength. Any resistance was met by him pushing you harder against the bark.
"If you're still, it'll be easier for the both of us, doll." His breath wafted against the side of your neck, the feeling of a tongue being dragged across your skin to wet the area. "I'm not gonna kill ya'. Just need some food, is all. So work with me here, will ya'?" Sharp canines graze your skin as Chuuya uses them to prod for an artery.
