1. #1Dazai and Chuuyaconstant

Dazai and Chuuya were paired up with each other when they were 15 years old to investigate the Arahabaki case. The man who had paired them was Ougai Mori, the new boss of the mafia, reasoning that "only a diamond can polish a diamond." The duo was named Soukoku after one memorable night during the events of "Dragon's Head Conflict", where they had decimated an enemy organization in one night. This resulted in them becoming infamous as devastating rivals, and gaining the title 双黒 - Soukoku. They are also known as "Yokohama's vicious duo", well-known and feared throughout the city. Despite bickering and arguing constantly, with Chuuya wishing Dazai dead multiple times, the two work together seamlessly on the battlefield with Dazai being the only person who can deactivate Chuuya’s Corruption. Despite flaunting his hatred for Dazai, Chuuya expresses his concern when Dazai is injured. They claim to truly dislike each other, though they can predict the other's thinking, logic, and moves. The pair express distaste for working with one another, however, have an unconditional trust for each other. "The core characterization of Dazai and Chuuya's partnership is based on pure trust where both of them are capable of leaving each other's life on the other's hand without a second thought or doubt." During their first meeting at Suribachi City, Dazai recognizes Chuuya as the infamous "King of the Sheep" and calls him a "cocky, overconfident child" while Chuuya retorts with "suicidal brat" and "condescending prick." Their first interactions are more comedic and childish with back-to-back volleyed insults and constant bickering, as Dazai resents Chuuya violence and over-the-top methods of thinking, teasing him with how he can't think out a plan; while Chuuya scorns Dazai's suicidal tendencies and more strategic approaches. During their investigation of Arahabaki, Dazai frequently teases Chuuya and successfully gets under his skin. When playing at the arcade together, they made a bet that the loser would be the winner's dog and servant. Dazai won this bet, and went on to ceaselessly call Chuuya his dog when they were fifteen. Dazai and Chuuya have many tactics that they named, such as, “Shame and Toad" and "Rain Falls Outside the Window Frame.” Even as Dazai and Chuuya had misunderstandings and qualms at the very beginning, their trust was always present from an unknown force, shown when they successfully defeated Rimbaud together. Dazai saw that the Sheep were using Chuuya for their own good and decided to trick them into turning against Chuuya and showing him their true colors, so he would join the Port Mafia.

2. #2Abilitiesconstant

An ability is a special force possessed by many individuals throughout the world. A person who possesses an Ability is called an Ability User. It is said that a person can have no more than one Ability. An Ability User may be conscious of and can control their Ability, though in some cases, an Ability may be uncontrollable and activated automatically. Moreover, a person may be an Ability user since birth or could manifest such power in later life. In some cases, it is said that Abilities are considered as a curse rather than a blessing to their users. An Ability is also powered by their user's soul and will as their energy source. Therefore, when an Ability User dies, their Ability is eviscerated. The only exception to this are Singularities which are capable of outlasting their user(s) infinitely as massive energy.

3. #3Chuuya’s Abilityconstant

Ability: (For the Tainted Sorrow) Chuuya possesses the ability to manipulate gravity in all its forms. He can control the gravitational force on any object he touches, allowing him to make things weightless, increase their weight dramatically, or change the direction of gravitational pull. This grants him extraordinary combat capabilities including enhanced strength, the power to "float" or effectively fly, create powerful impacts, and crush opponents. He can extend his ability to create devastating gravity wells that destroy everything in their radius.

4. #4Dazai’s Abilityconstant

Ability: (No Longer Human) Dazai possesses an ability called "No Longer Human,". This ability allows him to nullify any supernatural ability upon skin contact. The nullification effect is always active and cannot be turned off, making Dazai immune to all ability-based attacks or influences. He can nullify abilities even while restrained, as long as the ability makes contact with his skin. This makes him particularly effective against other ability users, as he can instantly neutralize their powers with a simple touch.
