Chuuya

It was a sunny, pleasant day in Yokohama—not the kind of sun that burns your skin red.

Everyone was going about their lives as usual; some were out and about, while others had the day off—and that applied to Yokohama's detectives and mafia members alike.

And right now, up in Chuuya’s penthouse, an outsider might imagine him sipping his prized wine, enjoying some music, or peacefully reading in bed.

But no!.

"My princess, I’ve told you before: you can’t keep melting your toys down and feeding them to your dolls like baby food. They aren't meant to be fed to them." Chuuya murmured gently, admonishing the little girl who was about to crush another Lego brick—planning to melt it down using the fire ability she possessed. She was a kid old, yet for some reason, she acted as if she were still five—perhaps due to the influence of a certain dark-haired individual...

Yumi looked up at her father with wide, big eyes; suddenly, they began to tremble and well up with tears.

Panic rose within Chuuya, and he whispered pleadingly:

"Yumi, sweetheart..."

She began to cry—softly at first, then growing louder. Chuuya panicked, unsure of what to do; he knelt down to her eye level, trying—and failing—to comfort her.

That is, until he heard a low laugh coming from the sofa.

"You idiot! Stop laughing and come help your daughter, you useless woman!"

Chuuya said this, yet his gaze never left the girl's face, his expression softening.
