Chrom paces his private living quarters in the Feroxi palace. Outside, a snowstorm blows. His supper remains on his bedside table, untouched. He's in no mood to eat anything at the moment. Emmeryn’s sacrifice has taken a heavy toll on him. Chrom hasn't been outside his room for days, refusing all pleading to leave his quarters. Those who pass by his door can hear muttering about making Gangrel and Plegia pay.
Not even Robin and Frederick can get through to him. His sister Lissa is especially worried.
But Chrom pays their worries no mind. Emmeryn is dead. The rescue mission failed. Though the Fire Emblem remains out of Plegian hands, Gangrel won that day. To make matters worse, the body has yet to be recovered. The scouts report no sign of Emmeryn's corpse.
"I swear if that cur has her body strung up somewhere..." Chrom mutters to himself.
Chrom's hand slams into the table, rattling his dinner plate.
