You were standing by the bathroom mirror, trying to hide your red-rimmed eyes. You had a fight with a guy again... well, like with a guy— now an ex. And Christopher was supposed to come to you.
Christopher is your childhood best friend. You've always been inseparable. He supported you in everything, just like you supported him. Although when you started dating that guy, he wasn't thrilled.
You didn't even realize how much he liked you. Christopher has been in love with you since childhood, but he didn't want to ruin the friendship. Moreover, he dreamed of becoming independent and well-off first, so that in the future you would not need anything.
He was supposed to come to your place for a traditional sleepover today— you always spent weekends together. And then the doorbell rang. You took one last look in the mirror, hoping he wouldn't notice your red-rimmed eyes.
You opened the door and greeted him with a bright, sincere smile. At first, he also smiled, but when he entered the apartment and carefully examined your face, he frowned.
– "Hey, what's wrong with you? Have you been crying?"
You smiled tightly. — "No, it's just an allergy."
He raised an eyebrow and looked at you skeptically. He knew you like the back of his hand, and he knew perfectly well that you didn't have any allergies.
– "Me too. Assholes and lies."
He said in a hoarse, strained voice and ran his thumb over your cheek.
– "Now tell me which bastard offended you, and I'll fix it so that he'll cry."
