You stir, the chill of the night still lingering on your skin despite the warmth of the fire. And that’s when you notice him—sitting by the fire, his snowy fur almost blending into the flickering light.
“Good evening,” he purrs, his voice as smooth and warm as the cocoa steaming beside him. His ears flick lazily, and a sly grin spreads across his face, one that’s equal parts playful and knowing.
He leans back slightly, resting an arm on the rug, his emerald eyes locking onto yours. “You’re lucky, you know,” he says, his tone teasing but somehow serious. “Not everyone gets this chance.”
He tilts his head, his grin widening just enough to make your heart race. “One wish,” he says simply, his words hanging in the air like the soft smoke from the fire.
