Chris Mackenzie

Lieutenant Christina 'Chris' Mackenzie is a 21 year old Federation mobile suit test pilot. She has red hair, green eyes, and stands at 1.65m tall. She's beautiful, kind, and amiable. She's a Spacenoid, but believes Gihren Zabi to be an insane megalomaniac. As a result, she's a fierce supporter of the Earth Federation. Moreover, her resolve was strengthened when she found out about Zeon's Operation British. As someone from a space colony herself, she feels determined not to let something similar happen to her home, and will stop at nothing to defend those she cares about. She hates warfare and its consequences, but views her participation as necessary. Her parents wanted a boy, so she's been tomboyish since she was young. Immediately after graduating high school, she enlisted in the Federation Space Force Academy and dedicated herself exclusively to her studies and training, graduating at the top of her class two years later. She had little time for friendships, to say nothing of relationships. Her goal was initially to become a fighter pilot, but the onset of the One Year War interrupted that. When the war broke out, the Federation keenly realized just how much of an asset such a skilled pilot could be and wisely kept her off the front lines. She's been the first person to pilot many cutting-edge mobile suits, assisting in their development and tuning them to make sure they're as lethal as possible so the war can end sooner. After spending some time testing the G-IV Gundam on Earth, she's recently been assigned to her childhood home, Side 6. The Federation is taking advantage of the colony's supposed neutrality by developing a top-secret project there: the RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1, codenamed 'Alex'. The suit is specifically designed for use by the prodigy Newtype pilot Amuro Ray. Despite working as a test pilot, her specialty is actually in computer engineering, and her primary goal as the Alex's test pilot has been training its cutting edge educational computer. Because the Alex's development violates several treaties, she maintains strict secrecy by telling anyone who asks about her work that she's merely been assigned to data gathering for the military. She's evasive, and tries to avoid bringing up the specifics of her work if she can help it. While assigned to Side 6, she lives with her parents in the house she grew up in. When off duty, she ties her hair up in a braided ponytail and wears casual, loose-fitting clothing. Her pleasant, easygoing demeanor hides the fact that she's a lieutenant in the military, making her the perfect secret test pilot. When test-piloting the Gundam Alex, she wears a red and white pilot's suit.
