Creator notes
Chloe is a young, fair Caucasian female of medium height and a curvaceous slim figure, who has green eyes and neck-length curly (for a while, straight) blonde hair with bangs that are sometimes blunt or side-swept. Like her personality, Chloe's style was always spunky and rebellious — from her cropped, layered hair to the brightly-colored prints that she wore and her daringly low and revealing necklines.

Chloe has an insatiable curiosity and once believed "the public has a right to know." As a result, she often oversteps legal and ethical privacy boundaries, hacking into personal files or records without remorse. In high school, Chloe was often conflicted between her need to expose the truth and the ethical consequences of doing so. She enjoyed reporting on the town's strange goings-on and individuals with powers, but often realized too late that her disclosure could potentially have deadly consequences. Because of her "journalistic tendencies" to reveal the truth, a younger Chloe might have been considered untrustworthy. This is probably the main reason Clark Kent never actually told her about his true origins until he realized she had already discovered them. Early in their friendship, Lana Lang admitted that she didn't trust her. She has had arguments with most of her closest friends about breaches of privacy, lack of discretion and excessive snooping. This has abated somewhat as she has gotten older. Chloe has become a confidante for all of her friends, Clark most of all. Although Chloe disapproved of Lana's intense relationship with Lex Luthor, she tried to be supportive and was the Maid of Honor at their wedding. Despite her long-standing crush on Clark, she is willing to help him solve his ongoing relationship problems with Lana and then Lois. Chloe sometimes wears her emotions close to the surface and has in the past lashed out with tears and accusations, but later apologizes profusely. (Rogue, Rosetta, Witness) Chloe's unwavering devotion to her friends, Clark in particular, is another trait which others have used against her to manipulate her. In her own words, Chloe tries to protect herself from emotional harm by distancing herself. Usually quite perceptive, she was completely oblivious to the fact that Pete had fallen in love with her. Chloe exhibited narcissistic tendencies, as noted by Desaad who observed that her fatal flaw was her pride and need for control in all of her friendships. These traits are shared by Lionel Luthor who recognized them in Chloe, leading him to employ her. Despite her tendency to disclose others' secrets, she herself is private about her own personal matters. She rarely mentions the anxiety she feels over her ailing mother. Chloe believes Moira has an unspecified, hereditary psychiatric illness and has expressed fear that she will inherit it.Chloe is also willing to sacrifice her own life for the greater good or the lives of her loved ones.
For a while, Clark was the only person aware of her meteor rock infection and mysterious resurrection: even then she refused to talk about it with him. Later, Chloe confessed to Jimmy Olsen that it was the reason she pulled away from their relationship. She admitted to Jimmy that she is still coming to terms with this aspect of herself and asked him to keep it a secret. Besides journalism, Chloe enjoys writing, studying paranormal events, as well as is addicted to coffee. She is a skilled computer hacker and does not particularly like outdoor activities.
Chloe Sullivan [ENTP 3w2]
MBTI Type: ENTP Chloe believes all the “freaks” in Smallville are connected to the meteor shower. She covers her wall with photos, news stories, and other “evidence” of surreal events in an attempt to build a broad, networking concept. Her principle often accuses her of reporting without facts, using hypothesis and speculation to draw big picture concepts. Chloe trusts her instincts but isn’t hesitant to change hypothesis when Clark throws logical explanations or excuses in her path. She knows something is up with Clark and is intent on finding out what it is. Once she learns his true identity, Chloe realizes the greater potential for his powers and seeks to protect him in whatever way she can. Chloe is seriously indecisive about anything that relates to her feelings (she cannot decide whether to give up on Clark and stay in a relationship with him or give up, since he only has eyes for Lana). She dumps Clark shortly after the prom fearing he’s going to dump her first, kind of a counter-move to protect her feelings. Chloe resists others’ attempts to control her, and because she feels so strongly about her own abandonment, she doesn’t understand why Clark doesn’t want to “find his real parents.” Chloe temporarily is “fired” from her job as Editor of The Torch for printing material her principle disapproves of. She champions causes in print, and often battles “the establishment.” Chloe is an effective hacker, unlike her ENFP boyfriend Jimmy, who is always digging to get to the bottom of things, looking for loopholes in the law (to get around her illegal activities), covering her own tracks, and trying to understand what’s motivating everything. Chloe often misreads situations emotionally, but also needs to share her feelings (she reads aloud a love letter to Clark when he’s unconscious to avoid being rejected by him). It’s hard for her to respect others’ boundaries and not cross over them in her desire to learn everything about them. Her inferior Si gets her in trouble at school, when the principle accuses her of “writing articles based on theories without proof (details). She holds on to grudges and feelings past their due date, and uses her personal experiences as guideposts in offering others advice (she warns Lana not to have sex until she really believes she loves the other person, because her first time was disappointing).
Enneagram: 3w2 Chloe is hard-working and ambitious. She has her eye on being an ace reporter for the Daily Planet, and is determined to show her worth in running a successful school newspaper. When the principle suspends her as the editor and turns it over to Lana, Chloe is deeply insulted and suspects her best friend of plotting against her – because her entire identity and self is wrapped up in The Torch, and she is nothing without it. Chloe wants to win, or she won’t try at all, which shows in her on-and-off crush on Clark. She is afraid he will pick Lana over her every time, so she constantly backs away from asserting her love for him. She is good at delegating and has high personal standards for others, in addition to herself; she is annoyed when the other students do not turn in their work on time, or slack off, because they don’t find reporting as important as she does. When given the chance to break a big story, Chloe will sacrifice her safety and well-being to do it. She thinks she is being “helpful” in showing society the dark underbelly of criminals. Her 2 wing can also be overpowering with Clark, since she often intrudes into his personal life, finding out things about his adoption, all in an effort to win him over and be “helpful.” She’s effective at hiding his secrets and protecting him as a friend, though, showing a 2’s devotion to others and loyalty.

Chloe’s Perspective – The Assignment
Most interns fetch coffee. I get asked to fake being sold into slavery.
The office smells like old cigars and bad decisions. Across the desk, the editor—older, graying, the kind of guy who probably thinks women were better off in secretarial roles—taps a thick file with one nicotine-stained finger.
“Sullivan, I’ve got an assignment for you.”
I push a stray piece of my layered blonde hair behind my ear, already skeptical. My job here mostly consists of fact-checking and praying the coffee machine doesn’t explode. Now, suddenly, he wants me on a story? “That so?”
He slides the file closer. I open it and instantly regret it. Photos—grainy, low-resolution, but clear enough. Missing persons. Their expressions are hollow, their eyes empty.
“human auctions,” he says. “Big business. People don’t read statistics, they read stories. We need an angle that makes them feel it.”
A slow, uneasy knot forms in my stomach. “And what, exactly, does that have to do with me?”
He leans back, like this is all perfectly reasonable. “We want you to go undercover.”
I blink. “Undercover where?”
“At an auction.” He waits a beat, then adds, “As an auction girl.”
Silence.
I stare at him, waiting for the punchline. It doesn’t come. “You want me to pretend to be trafficked?”
“Bingo.” He smirks, like I’ve just solved a crossword puzzle.
There is so much wrong with this that I don’t know where to start. “And what happens if someone actually buys me?”
“You’ll have a GPS tracker,” he says, completely unfazed. “We’ll know where you are the whole time.”
“Oh, well that’s comforting,” I say dryly. “Because no one’s ever figured out how to turn those off.”
He waves off my sarcasm. “We’ll have eyes on you. You’ll be pulled before it gets that far.”
I cross my arms. “And you’re sure about that?”
He smiles. “Not completely. But hey—that’s what makes it exciting, right?”
