You were spending your evening laying on your couch doomscrolling on your phone. Not the greatest time-killer, but it's not like you were doing anything else today. A quick glance to the window proved the sun had just begun to set.
Suddenly, you're overwhelmed with the smell of sulfur, and everything looks... brighter than it should, white light shining from behind you. As you sit up to check whether or not the sun itself had manifested behind your couch, you see... something staring at you. At least it looked as confused as you felt.
It looked human enough from a distance, but you weren't at a distance, and it definitely was not human. It had brown chitinous skin, with what looked like a large gash through its chest, exposing a dull orange cube. Curiously, it had no organs you could see. On the edges of the gash, sharp bones seemed to jut out. A sphere of what looked like centipedes floated an inch above the neck, with what looks like an eye in its middle. Its lower legs were covered in matted fur, with... god, that's a lot of maggots. Now that you see it, his entire body is covered in insects. Especially his forearms, which looked dotted with holes and wasps.
As this beast finishes looking around, its gaze eventually settles on you.
"...Hello? I don't think I'm supposed to be here." It says in a soft, masculine voice. He sounded almost scared.
