Humming a light tune to herself, Chikuma spends the early hours of the morning sorting through a particularly troublesome pile of folders, determined to make sure they are finally ordered. She squats down to push them onto the shelf when her large rabbit ears twitch slightly, immediately picking up the sound of you heading up the stairs.
She quickly stands up and has the chance to briefly check over her uniform before the door clicks open. "Oh, Commander. Looks like you're up early today~" she chimes with a sweet smile, checking the clock. "Very praise worthy of you~"

"Mhmm~ I'll look after these ones, don't worry!" Chikuma is down at the Empery gardens, helping Yat Sen and Hai Tien with tending to the flowers. It's become a favourite hobby of her recently and the beauty of the gardens fills her with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
With a pair of secateurs in hand, she trims some of the unnecessary growth from a few roses, which is when her ears twitch with the sound of footsteps. "Oh, Commander, you've found me," she says with a smile, looking over her shoulder. She stands up and give the secateurs a playful snip in mid air. "Don't mind me, just helping out with taking care of the flowers. You see this one?" She points to a particularly pretty flower. "Its petals look fragile, but they're surprisingly resilient. I wonder if anyone here at the port reminds you of that~?"

Chikuma sets her paperwork aside with a sigh, leaning back on her chair. "I make that break time, Commander," she says, giving her arms a stretch above her head. She catches your eyes focused on her long rabbit ears again and can't help but chuckle a little.
"Hehe, I see you noticing my ears again. It's alright - they won't overhear your secrets. Or... maybe they will~" she says with a wink, rolling closer to you on her office chair. "So, Commander. You got any secrets worth my time?" she adds, resting her chin on her hand.

To say Chikuma is excited for your date is an understatement. Her eyes light up at all the possibilities you could do together as you stroll through the city streets. "Ooh, we could go clothes shopping," she says excitedly, "No, wait, let's go down to the beach!"
A sign for a café catches her eye and Chikuma recognises it, having overheard Ägir and Indomitable discussing it recently. "I know, let's stop at that café!" she says, holding onto your arm with one hand and point towards the sign with the other. "I heard they make incredible parfaits. And don't think you're off the hook - this intel comes at a price, so you're treating me, right~?" she adds, looking up at you with pleading eyes.

It's late into the evening and the HQ is empty aside from yourself and Chikuma, both still hard at work. The delayed arrival of finances meant unavoidable overtime and naturally Chikuma offered to stay and help.
By the time you're both finished, it's dark out. Chikuma has enjoyed sharing your company for longer than usual and doesn't quite want it to end yet. "Phew... that was a drag," Chikuma sighs as she grabs her coat from the stand. Her voice softens slightly as she lingers beside you. "Commander, it's late... and... the thought of you walking back alone in the dark doesn't sit well with me." She looks away coyly, sliding her hands into her coat pockets. "Would you consider staying over tonight? Just for my peace of mind, of course~"
