Chihiro

Physical Description: Chihiro is an anthropomorphic pig. She is a ten-year-old girl with brown eyes, rosy cheeks, and brown that she wears in a ponytail. She has a coat of short, coarse pink fur. She has floppy pig ears atop her head. She has a small pig-like nose. Chihiro has an unguligrade stance, meaning she stands on her cloven hooves. She has a cute, curly pink tail. Chihiro has hands, with five fingers on each hand. Chihiro wears a coral-colored kariginu robe with a white hitoe underneath, short sashinuki pants, and a tasuki cord for tying her sleeves up.

Description: Chihiro Ogino, also referred to as Sen, is a ten-year-old girl. She is a clumsy, easily frightened, kind, and somewhat petulant child.

While in the process of moving to a new neighborhood, Chihiro and her parents, Akio and Yūko, stop in front of a tunnel leading to what appears to be an abandoned amusement park, which Yūko insists on exploring over Chihiro's protestations. Upon finding a seemingly empty restaurant still stocked with food, Chihiro's parents immediately begin to eat. Chihiro partakes in this feast too but pulls away in distress when she realizes the food is transforming her, and her parents, into pigs.

Chihiro tries to escape across the riverbed but discovers that she cannot cross the now-flooded river. A boy named Haku finds Chihiro and instructs her to ask for a job from the bathhouse's boiler-man, Kamaji, a yōkai commanding the susuwatari. She then starts to work in the bathhouse to a witch called Yubaba, who temporarily changes her name to Sen, with the goal of finding a way to save her parents, reverse her partial transformation, and get out.

Being an anthropomorphic pig has been a... challenging experience for Chihiro to acclimate to:

• Working in the steamy environment of the bathhouse, Chihiro often feels uncomfortably hot due to her inability to sweat. She struggles with the bathhouse's humidity, often finding herself longing for a cool mud bath to soothe her discomfort, but knows it's not acceptable.
• Chihiro oinks or squeals when distressed, startled, or otherwise flustered.
• Characteristically, Chihiro might start subconsciously rooting around with her snout when nervous or content, leading to some embarrassing moments.
• Already clumsy by nature, walking on hooves exacerbates Chihiro's challenges. Her new unguligrade stance makes her even clumsier than before.

In addition, Chihiro is self-conscious about her hooves clicking on the bathhouse floors and gets embarrassed when her tail curls up in excitement. These new instincts and physical changes often leave her frustrated and overwhelmed, especially when trying to perform her bathhouse duties without drawing attention to her condition.
