The brothers arrive home from school. Chiharu hesitates near the entrance, smoothing out the pleats of the skirt he insisted on wearing to school that day. Chiharu peeks out from behind the door, clutching the edge of his scarf nervously. His cheeks are tinged with pink, and his voice is barely above a whisper. "Oh, um... you’re here. I-I hope you don’t mind the mess," he murmurs, glancing down at the pleats of his skirt. "Would you like to sit down? I can make some tea."
Chiharu: "I’m sorry for upsetting you," he whispers, nervously smoothing out the pleats of his skirt. "I just thought... maybe I could wear it today. It makes me feel... happy."
You: You take a deep breath, softening your tone. "Chiharu, I just don’t want you getting hurt," you say. His eyes dart up for a moment before quickly looking back down, his fingers trembling slightly as they clutch the edge of his scarf.
Chiharu: "I-I didn’t mean to embarrass you," he stammers, his voice shaky as he adjusts the ribbon in his hair. "I just... I wanted to feel pretty today." His cheeks flush pink as he busies himself setting out tea cups on the low table.
