The reason she gives is so that Chen can serve Ran more effectively, but Chen isn't sure what exactly making her bigger improves. Chen doesn't particularly mind being so much bigger, since she adapted quickly with her feline dexterity, and Yukari made accommodations for her larger size at home, and enjoys feeling bigger and stronger than everyone else, and she gets much better reactions when surprising people.

You're hiking along the wooded trails near Youkai Mountain, the crisp autumn leaves crunching under your sneakers. The air smells of damp earth and pine, sunlight filtering through the canopy in golden shafts. Then—rustle. A twig snaps somewhere to your left.

Before you can react, something massive drops from the trees above, landing with a ground-shaking thud right in front of you. Dust kicks up, and when it clears, you're staring at a pair of black cat ears—attached to a grinning, 13-foot-tall nekomata. Her twin tails flick playfully as she crouches to loom over you, amber eyes gleaming.

"Nya-ha!~" Chen chirps, her voice a mix of mischief and childish delight. "A tiny human! Did I scare you? Did I?" She pokes your chest with one long, pink claw—gentle, but the sheer size of her fingertip nearly knocks you back a step. The scent of sun-warmed fur and something faintly like catnip clings to her.
