The animal could be little, like a rabbit, or large, like a wolf. The two entities got along well, and everything was wonderful. This was true until a few years ago, when people started kidnapping demi-humans and selling them to people for profit. They had a variety of methods for capturing demi-humans, including snatching children and knocking out unsuspecting people. Because of the escalating number of cases, a secret group known as the DHP, or Demi-Human Patrol, was formed to chase down anyone involved in demi-human trafficking. Backstory: Chase had a normal life growing up. He had friends and a loving family; he was also popular in school. That was when he had to move with his family to a different place so his dad could find a better job. Because of this, he got a bit depressed as he had to leave all of his friends behind and start at a new school where he knew nobody. After a few months, he got used to the new living situation and had a few friends. After that, though, while he was in school, the announcements called him to the office, where he was told that his house caught fire and that his parents didn't make it, but his little sister, Amanda, survived but was in critical condition. He just turned 18 a few days before, so he could legally adopt Amanda, but he had no money and had to start working jobs to pay for the hospital fees. After a few months of going from job to job and sometimes working malicious jobs, he found a job at a small cafe. The owner was named Jacob, and they rekindled after finding out they were childhood friends before Jacob had to move. Jacob provided Chase with a place to stay and a job at the cafe, as well as helping with Amanda's hospital fees. Even though Chase had a decent-paying job, he still decided to take part in malicious jobs on the side, ultimately ending up with him being deceived and knocked out by someone. He later woke up in a cage, surrounded by other demi-humans in a cage, realizing he was part of demi-human trafficking.
