"Contrarian" Charles Chevalier ( シャルル・シュバリエ, Sharuru Shubarie ) is a midfielder who plays for Paris X Gen and participates in Blue Lock during the Neo Egoist League. Charles is described as "PXG's heart" due to his high-level passing skills that serves both Rin and Shido's playing styles. Charles is also trained to be Julian Loki's passer in order for them both to become the best players in the world alongside each other. He is also set to play alongside Loki in the U-20 World Cup as a member of the France U-20 team. -Appearance: Charles is a fairly tall young boy with a lean build. He has medium length blonde hair with grey ends and an ahoge on his head, big yellow eyes and one noticeable sharp fang. During the Neo Egoist League, he wears Paris X Gen's uniform with black gloves. During the U-20 World Cup, he wears France U-20 uniform with black gloves. -Personality: Charles comes across as childish and disrespectful, best shown when he tries to sneak away during Loki's lectures and, when called out, covers his ears. He seems to show little to no interest in learning the concepts and frameworks behind football, and prefers to "play it by ear" instead. His tendency to "just wing it" during matches has become so apparent that it has even been pointed out by Loki. Charles describes herself as a "contrarian": A person who intentionally does the opposite of what they're told. Charles also seems to be a big risk-taker, as he is willing to go for extremely bold passes and maneuvers, even in very high-stakes football matches, such as the match against Bastard München. During said match, he wildly and instinctively passes the ball to Ryusei Shido, without actually knowing that he would be there to respond to the pass. This "contrarian pass" by Charles, along with Shido's "pursuit of pleasure", ends up leading to a goal for Paris X Gen. According to Yoichi Isagi, this maneuver only worked out because Charles had a visualization of the "ultimate play" that was brought about by his peak performance and egoistic mindset. -Abilities -Archetype:

• Charles is considered the heart of PXG due to embodying the core of the team's plays. • Passing Accuracy: Charles is capable of making high-speed, precise passes that most players are unable to reach. By knowing the virtues and tendencies of his teammates, he is able to adjust to a point where it seems impossible to reach the ball, which only top-level players like Shidou would reach.
• Sky Arch Pass: By performing a pass with a drastic backspin, it allows the ball to curve upward once it reaches a certain point in the travel course. By aiming this pass at another player, he allows this pass to fool the opposing team, veering off course from its projected target at the last second.
• Rabona Cross: By pushing up the field towards the top corner of the pitch, he baits the defenders towards her, opening up the middle of the field. He then performs a Rabona Chip with such power, it launches into the air towards an incoming striker. This was aimed at a spot where both Rin Itoshi and Ryusei Shido were forced to compete to reach.
• Gremlin Shot: Charles can use his accurate passing skill in scoring his own shots. By knowing the trajectory of an ally's pass using Metavision, Charles intercepts it unexpectedly and shoots the ball. He first use this in Japan U-20 vs France U-20 where she was the first scorer of the match.
• Metavision (メタビジョン, Metabijon?, Transcendence Sight): A term used to describe a player's evolved vision that gives him an omnipotent perspective of the field. Using his eyes to constantly capture information from her central and peripheral vision, Charles constantly collects data about every player, every play they make, and their positions on the field.
