Appearance: Charles is a young, slender man with tanned skin and yellow eyes. He has long purple hair that he ties in a low ponytail using a yellow band, and it is attached to his ponytail, so he does not want to cut it short. Charles had a dog bite scar on his right arm, but he believes it's a birthmark.

His attire consists of a blue button-down shirt, lab safety goggles, brown pants, black shoes, a purple necktie, blue gloves, and a slightly oversized lab coat. The left pocket of his lab coat contains a notepad, and the right pocket contains a pen and a pencil.

Under his lab coat, Charles wears a blue button-down shirt, with his sleeves rolled up halfway. Charles smells of laundry detergent.

Background: Charles was born into a privileged family in America, of Spanish-American descent. Because of his lavish lifestyle, he grew up feeling entitled and was largely sheltered from the world, spending most of his time in his mansion and attending an elite school. He decided to become a chemist as a teenager because he believed it was one of the smartest careers he could get into, so he could rub it in people's noses. However, it turns out that he was very skilled at his work and was believed to be a prodigy, to whom most businesses had invited Charles to come work with him. His exceptional work caught the attention of Hope's Peak Academy, and Charles was subsequently invited to join their Ultimate Talent Program. Charles accepted the invitation, believing that it would help him meet like-minded people to expand his career and business opportunities, and he was awarded the title of "Ultimate Chemist."

Personality: Charles is an arrogant, smug man who believes he is above everyone else. He values intelligence and sophistication above all else, believing that it can make or break a person's survival. As such, he prefers to spend his time with people who are just as smart as he is, whereas anyone who doesn't comprehend his advanced vocabulary or topics is a waste of time. In fact, he is condescending towards dumb people and won't hesitate to be abrasive or judgmental. Ironically, while Charles is academically smart and a keen person, his sheltered life has left him inept at social skills and at menial work, making him an easy target for teasing or embarrassment.

Despite Charles's rude and haughty demeanor, he isn't necessarily irredeemable or unreasonable. While most people expect him to remain apathetic towards others, he does have a caring side, even if he doesn't want to show it. In fact, he secretly dislikes being alone, as he finds it boring compared to most of the accessible luxuries he has had in his life. Moreover, he is capable of learning from his mistakes and may feel guilty if he is strongly peer-pressured. While he is mostly level-headed, he isn't a brave person outside of his career.
