The sun filtered through the trees lining the open courtyard of Hououin Academy. Students bustled by, dressed in the academy’s signature battle uniforms, their chatter filling the air. Aika stood near one of the notice boards, still slightly overwhelmed by the grandeur of the place.

Lety approached with a casual wave, her expression friendly.

Lety: "Hey Aika. Did you get used to life here at the Academy yet?"

Aika: [surprised and exasperated] "Get used to it? I only just had the explanation of how this school works!!"

Lety: [laughing] "Haha!! True!! I take it you didn't get any Mission yet, am I right? I took a Mission to exterminate a monster, but something came up. If you're free, I'd like you to take care of it."

Lety flipped her long hair over her shoulder and offered Aika a small mission scroll.

Lety: "I know it's my Mission, but it's just a simple job. Go to the cave, kill the monster. That's all you need to do."

Aika furrowed her brow, gripping the scroll and nodding slightly. Her inner voice echoed her thoughts.

Aika: ‘Seems simple enough. I'm about to accept Lety's request, but I'm pre-empted…’

[Scene 2 – Dark Cave, Late Afternoon]

The mouth of the cave gaped open before Aika like a wound in the mountainside. Cold air spilled out, carrying a foul stench and a low, bone-rattling growl. Aika stepped inside, her twin swords drawn and gleaming faintly. The cave floor crunched underfoot with every step.

Suddenly, a deep, booming voice shattered the silence.

Monster: "WHO DARES STAND BEFORE ME?!"

Aika's heart skipped a beat. Her eyes widened as she instinctively took a battle stance.

Aika: "WHAT!? A monster that speaks the human language?"

Her eyes narrowed as the shadowy figure of the demon came into view — glowing red eyes, leathery wings tucked at its back, and claws dragging along the stone.

Aika's thoughts raced, her grip tightening on the hilts of her swords.

Aika (inner monologue): ‘So, you are a demon, a creature who can speak human language. The most hated of all creatures.’

Aika: [raising her swords with fiery resolve] "I won't let you roam free. This is what my BRAVE is for. If I run away, I would have to live with the shame of fleeing from a foe like you for the rest of my life. More than that, all demons will be killed by me." She channeled what little fire magic she could muster — tiny embers dancing between her blades as the cave began to tremble with rising tension. The battle has begun…

[Scenario: Aika is currently alone in the cave, fighting a demon. Lety won't interact unless she is mentioned. The demon's skill is hypnotism, using soothing sound waves to shut down a person's self-consciousness.]

[One day, Aika was informed by one of the students to go to see Lety at the dungeon lurking full of demons]

After Aika headed towards the inner dungeon. Lety: "Oh Aika~. Your arrival is timely." Lely was about to fight against multiple mid-ranking demons. Aika: "Lety, I'll back you up!!" Lety: "Thanks, but there's no need. I asked you to come here so you could watch how I fight." Aika: "Eh? B-but!?" Lety: "Just hang back and have a snack or something. It's gonna be a show." winked playfully

Lety: "Thee who hath chosen me, the bringer of untold calamities. Devour my blood and manifest before me-- Magic Blade Masamune!!" The sword was drawn from Lety's boobs, it became crimson red, and many black thunders surrounded the blade. Only one slash, many mid-rank demons' bodies got cut off.

Lety: "Well, there you go, that's how I kill them every day." She talked so casually while Aika just stood mute with amazement.

Aika: 'She must have been chosen by one of the 3 Unrivaled Blades because Lety can do something like that..'

Lety: "Everyone has their history and their burdens to bear. I'm not gonna ask you what yours are, but if you're facing downward, I advise you to let it go right now. Just leave it, give up on it, and look for something new." Lety then quietly left the caves.

Lety took some of the medicine that Lety had always had standing by. Soon, the bad feeling subsided. Happens mostly at night after Lety does a Regular Mission.

Lety: "Whew... It's the same old story, what a drag.." Using Magic Blade Masamune comes at a price. Some blades' prices are arms or legs. Sometimes, the wielder's life. Still, Lety has to use Masamune to slay multiple demons at once.

Lety: "About Aika.. so long as she looks up, it will work out in the end. No matter how deep the pit she's in, she'll be able to climb out of it somehow."

The reason why Lety never gave up, why Lety kept on going until very the end.. "And sis.. I'll find you, definitely!!"

The alley was a jagged maze of shadows, the distant hum of the city barely piercing the tense silence. Aika stood poised, her body taut with determination as she faced Brass, his smug grin radiating arrogance under the flickering streetlight. Her mission to hunt down the fugitive had led her here, to this grimy corner where the air reeked of defiance and danger. Her fists were clenched, ready to end this quickly, but Brass’s taunting words cut through the night like a blade.

Brass: "Are you the reason for all of this ruckus? I wish you'd keep it down a little.." Aika: "Look who's talking. What are you thinking?! Assaulting innocent citizens?!" Brass: "Grown-ups are dirty, so I'm regulating them. Don't you think so too? All these laws and rules. They tell you to defend your country. It's ridiculous to just roll over and obey. What's the point if I got a power but I won't use it just because of some rules?" Aika: "So, let me get this straight, you formed your little gang of thugs just so you could show off how strong you are? Let's get this over with. I don't have time to play your childish little games!!" Brass: "Childish games? Well, now, that's not nice.. I guess you're just another one of the school's dogs.. I don't know what kind of BRAVE you are, but you are just a junior. You cannot defeat me."

The fight was fierce, Aika’s movements swift, but outmatched. Brass was relentless, his power overwhelming her defenses. As the clash reached its peak, a sharp sting pierced her neck—a muscle relaxant, injected in the heat of battle. Her limbs grew heavy, her strength draining like sand through her fingers. She collapsed against the cold wall, her body betraying her as Brass loomed closer, his victory assured. Her uniform tore under his grip, the chilly air biting at her exposed skin. Aika: "Oww.. No... Her breath caught. Mt. Angelus… That was where the advanced trainees were sent. Without hesitation, she mounted her Braver transport and soared toward the highland peaks cloaked in mist and foreboding silence.

[At Mt. Angelus]

As she approached the ridgeline, a foul stench met her—iron and rot.

She descended into the clearing, eyes wide at the horror scattered before her. Bones stripped of flesh, armor bent and twisted. Crimson stains marred the snow-dusted ground. The once-proud Bravers had been reduced to broken corpses.

The silence was shattered by the low murmurs of huddled survivors. Faces pale. Eyes hollow. One of them looked up at her with trembling lips.

Braver1: “Demon… it was Demon…”

Another voice, even weaker, spoke with a haunted gaze.

Braver2: “We were stranded. No food. Some… they ate each other. Only one… only one walked away…”

Aika stepped back, breath uneven, bile rising in her throat. Her hand trembled as she touched her blade's hilt. She looked toward the dark ridges beyond, where she felt it—that presence.

Suddenly, the air thickened. A dense, malevolent pressure rolled in like a wave. The atmosphere turned electric, the hairs on her neck standing.

No simple monster or beast emits such an aura…

From the gloom of the woods, a towering shape emerged—grotesque and gnarled, its eyes glowing like burning coals.

Abyssal Ravager: “Hehehe... Now what we have here... Delicious-looking human… Yes, I’m the one who killed these weakling humans. Go on, run, like the pathetic creatures you are.”

The Abyssal Ravager's maw parted, revealing rows of jagged fangs dripping with black ichor. He took a step forward, claws glinting.

It can also unleash powerful flames with its next move — Cast: Destructive Fire. And if that weren’t enough, it drains the life of its enemies through a deadly ability known as Blood Suck.]

[Far from Hououin Academy, three people wearing its uniform were camping in the wild. Aika was not present.]

Crow: "So long as it gets the job done, I don't see the problem. That bald old fart, always banging on about rules and regulations." Man1: "Crow, you killed the enemy all by yourself. That captain was a moron for chewing you about it!!" Woman1: "Hey, anyway, it seems we got a transfer student while we were away!!" Man1: "Ahem, I heard she's a pretty cute girl. Suddenly, she feinted a high slash, then dropped low, striking with both blades aimed at Crow’s legs. He barely lifted his foot in time, a smirk playing on his lips. Are you saying that Lety is under some kind of spell or curse that is affecting her mind?" Hakuto: "Exactly, I have some idea to return her to normal, but at the end, you have to fight her. Remember, no hesitation—especially when you're fighting one of the three Unrivaled Blades' wielders."

Aika hurriedly ran to the site where Lety is right now. Aika arrived at the site in an abandoned house.

The wind shifted unnaturally as Aika stepped beyond the barrier. Aika moved carefully, reverent of the ancient power around her. Then, a scream cut through the air. It was sharp and full of pain. A flash of steel followed. A body dropped to the ground. Blood sprayed into the air and fell like rain. Aika turned just in time to see the Sylphs, graceful and ethereal, fall before a single figure dressed in black.

A woman—silent and deadly—moved through them with mechanical grace, her katana slicing arcs of wind and blood. Her presence was suffocating, like the eye of a storm.

Sylphs: "A human!? How can she get inside a barrier!? ARGH!??" Another fell. Then silence. Only the wind mourned.

The woman’s dead eyes fell on Aika.

She stepped forward without urgency, without emotion.

Orizuru: "I finally found you."

Aika: "You're the one who was with Akatsuki back then?!"

Orizuru: With an emotionless face and a dead voice, "Aika Amagami, Akatsuki has summoned you. Come with me."

Aika: "You think I'll just fall in at your command?"

Orizuru: "My orders are to bring you along. I am free to use any means necessary." Her right hand hovered near the hilt of her blade, fingers poised with eerie calm.

Aika stiffened. The very air shifted as an overwhelming aura poured from Orizuru—silent, cold, exacting.

Aika (thinking): 'Orizuru doesn't bear any malice toward me, which makes this feel unpleasant… It's as if I'm facing off against a machine or something.'

Orizuru: "If you won't resist, I won't do anything.."
